The beds in this listing are arranged as follows:
Bedroom: one double bed
Sitting room: one double sofa bed
We have just upgraded all of the mattresses in our main building to high end, top-of-the-line luxury hotel mattresses. We now have King Koil 1400 Club Pocket with pillow top mattresses -- they are an absolute dream to sleep on!

An ideal place to stay in Dublin!
This is a private, self-contained apartment. The main front door is shared with four other apartments in the building and has its own private intercom system.
Interaction with Guests
I interact with my guests as much as possible! I don't reside in the listing but I do see my guests as much as I can, especially as my office is located out back in the car park behind the building.
The neighbourhood is vibrant, full of tourists, and is located just over the Ha'Penny Bridge and around the corner on Middle Abbey Street. There are pubs on every corner, restaurants everywhere and the pedestrian-only shopping district is only 100 m away.
The main bus corridor on O'Connell St is only 200 m away and the tram line is on our doorstep. There is no need to even take public transport since everything is within a 20 minute walk! We also offer parking in our car park behind the building at a cost of €15 per night.
Other Things to Note
Check-in is from 3-5:30 pm. If your arrival time is outside of these hours then you *must* inform us so that we can make alternative arrangements for collection of the keys.
Please give us your approximate arrival time so that we can know when to expect you. It always helps to know when we can expect people!
When you arrive, please come to our main building at number 50 Middle Abbey Street for check-in. We are located directly opposite the main entrance to Arnotts department store, just look for the light green house with the orange door.
Ring the bell when you arrive; if I don't answer within a minute or two, just go next door to The Abbey Hotel and ask them to ring me.
There is no smoking allowed in our apartments as it is illegal in Ireland. If a smell of smoke is detected upon check-out then you will lose your deposit.
This flat is perfectly located within walking distance to all major Dublin attractions. The street was quite but also right behind the main streets. Guiness factory was only about a 15 minute walk, and Jameson distillery was about the same. We really enjoyed staying here due to the location and comfort of having all needed appliances that hotels usually don’t provide. There are many cafes nearby and plenty of choices to eat. Nancy was very easy to communicate with and responded promptly. The flat was very clean and organized and pleasant to stay at. Nancy was also very helpful with direction on getting around town and to/from the airport. She made the stay very comfortable and pleasant. Thank you, Nancy!
We missed our flight so we couldn't sleep at the Nancy's flat... But the communication with Nancy before and after was good! Next time in Dublin we'll book another night.
The apartment was clean and comfortable as well as within walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants, and public transportation. Nancy and Kevin were friendly and I would recommend this place to others.
Great apartment, very comfortable and lovely hosts! They were very accommodating and in a great central area.
This place has some pros and also some contras:
The apartment is in a very good location. You can walk from here to anywhere. Supermarket and shopping mall just across the street. Lots of restaurants – even some affordable ones. For the location its gets 5 stars.
Nancy and Kevin are completely nice. They help you with everything. They handle every little problem completely easy. For the hosts I´ll give 5 stars.
The place is small. You have a small bathroom with a shower. A little kitchen – but full equipped and a little living room with 2 sofas in. There is also a bedroom – but beside the bed there is almost no place for nothing. The place is not really cosy. It is practical equipped but does not give you a real welcome feeling.
The biggest problem is the noise. You hear everything. We had a family upstairs from us. We heard every little step they made. The floor creaks like it is in a very old house. If you need sleep or you here with your child’s this is not the right place to be.
The apartment is kinda clean. Not perfect – but OK.
For the apartment I give 2.5 stars.
I think the quality/price ratio is not very good here. For the same amount of money or even less I could stay in a good clean hotel room. I think something between 60 and 80 Euros/night would be OK.
For the quality/price ratio I give 2 stars.
Would I come back here again? No! Too small, too noisy and too expensive. 298 Euros for 2 nights (including to park our car in the dirty backyard) is not worth the perfect location within the tourist district of Dublin. But to meet Kevin and Nancy was very nice.
We came in on St. Paddy's and took a bus into town from the airport. It was very easy to find with the detailed directions I was given. It was an excellent place to spend the night, being so centrally located. Highly recommended!

About the Host, Kevin
My name is Kevin Gilroy and I am the manager and owner of Dublin 1 Apartments. I with my new assistant Alicia wish a warm welcome to all of our guests. I am a fun-loving, easy going host who loves having guests come stay at my self-catering holiday apartments in the very heart of Dublin's city centre.
I have a great knowledge of the local area having spent all my life in Dublin and can easily direct you to the best places to eat, drink and be merry. The nightlife (i believe) in Dublin is lots of fun and simply cannot be missed! I often form a great relationship with my guests and have even been known to go out with them for a pint or two in the local pub The Gin Palace.
Come stay with us and see what all the fun is about!
