  • We had an EXCELLENT stay and highly recommend this "Large Studio in Frescobaldi Palace." It was perfect for us - allowed a booking for just one night (many airbnb hosts want at least 2); simple (5-10 mins) to tote our big suitcases filled with gifts from relatives back and forth to SMN train station; easy access early morning to the airport bus from SMN; super close to many key tourist attractions - literally one block from the Arno; close to a fantastic osteria, where we had dinner (can't remember the name but it's connected with I Latini, which is also just nearby and supposedly great, too). The room is on the first floor, one up from ground, and there's an elevator, so, there are just a few steps street side to get up with luggage. The shower has fabulous high pressure hot water, and there were lots nice welcoming things in the room - clear instructions re: how to use the wireless; a note not to photograph the Carabinieri who you can see out the window; bottles of red and white wine - they ask just to leave 10E as you leave; tourist guides and other books in Italian and English for use in the room; a nice Samsung tv; coffee, tea and sugar, and all pots, pans etc. you'd need to cook at home, too. There's even a clothes washer and iron, hair dryer, and a few communal toiletries. Of course, the room is very attractive and comfortable, too, as is obvious from the photo, and includes a lot of IKEA furnishings. Bed was firm and comfortable and offered plenty of room for two persons. It was great for me and my cousin, as we each had our "own side." One problem needs to be solved, and we'll tell Gian B, who will undoubtedly clear it up quickly - areas of the wall near the windows have some black mold that needs to go asap. But the place is otherwise really clean and is overall fresh smelling, etc. What else to say?… We loved it and would definitely go back.

  • Beautiful apartment! So easy to get to from SMN train station. Gorgeous furniture and decor. Only second floor apt so nice not to have walk up tons of stairs. Fabulous location... Literally around the corner from the river Arno and the st Regis and westin, 10 min to piazza republica and the duomo. Gian was a wonderful host! Stay here if you're looking for a well located, beautiful flat in Florence!

  • The Studio was amazing and comfortable. We loved our stay. It had all the comforts of home. Not only was it clean, but Gian was flexible with arranging our bags to be dropped off. The Studio apartment was within walking distance to all of the tourist sites and extremely close to the train station which was convenient. We would stay here again anytime.

  • We loved to stay in this apartment. It was cozy, well equipped and just as beautiful as in the pictures. The location is very good. Just few steps and you are by the river Arno, peaceful and still central and near to everything.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Florence and found the apartment offered a comfortable, centrally located base to fully experience the city. The studio offered all the amenities we needed and the host was friendly and a pleasure to deal with.
The bed was extremely comfortable and the decor very tasteful.
There are great spots for breakfast, delicatessens and grocers along this street and extremely accessible to the central Florence SMN train station.

  • We only stayed in Firenze for 2 nights - but wish we could have stayed longer!
Gian's daughter Natalie met us at the apartment and showed us around the place, told us where to find shops, etc. There were plenty of restaurants & shops in the area, yet it was still a nice & quiet location -- we were across the street from the Carabinieri and just a few spaces down from them, was a beautiful church.
We found it easy to walk everywhere in Firenze, never got a taxi or bus.
The flat was immaculately clean, all of the furniture is very new and nice, and Gian even has wines that you can drink and just leave some extra cash to pay for them. We opted to go to the wine shop next to the Carabinieri office -- Vinoutlet. Found a couple of tasty wines there and enjoyed our evening. Gian was very responsive, his daughter was very nice, the flat was gorgeous and perfectly located -- I would love to return to Firenze and stay here again, but longer next time! Thank you for a great stay, Gian and Natalie!

  • The studio in Frescobaldi Palace is just as pictured. It feels very light and spacious and we loved it. We arrived by train and were running a little behind schedule, but Gian's daughter met us at the apartment. She was absolutely charming and delightful. She took time to explain anything we might need to know and spoke very good English (a plus for those of us who don't speak very good Italian). The area was very charming and just enough off the main roads to keep some of the noise down. We walked around the first evening as soon as we dropped off our luggage and I immediately fell in love with Firenze! We actually walked everywhere the next day, so the location was perfect. It was easy to get to the Duomo, Ponte Veccio, the Uffizi and many other museums....and shopping everywhere. We actually walked back to the train station the morning we were leaving as it also was quite close. Lovely experience overall. The apartment was perfect for two people and the bed was quite comfortable. We were very happy with our choice and thank Gian for the opportunity to stay there.
