High-quality bamboo bedding and attention to detail make your stay a most pleasant experience. Because of Covid Restrictions, we are not serving breakfast but can make sure that the basics and our very own happy eggs are in the kitchen for you to make breakfast.

The space
Your rooms are beautiful and sure to bring a peaceful sleep. What better way to wake up, than to the smell of fresh organic coffee brewing, a variety of herbal teas, home made biscuits baking in the oven and a freshly made breakfast with the highest quality of locally sourced foods. You may choose to eat breakfast in the dining room or maybe you prefer outside with the warm breeze coming off the bay. What ever your desire, every measure will be taken to serve you the best possible breakfast and experience.

Guest access
Every guest will have access to a large formal sitting room for leisurely reading and conversation, a formal dining room and a very large country kitchen. There are plenty of outdoor spaces, with loungers and chairs. Fruit trees, flowers, rolling hills and salt marshes create an oasis for birds of all kinds and a beautiful place for your relaxation. Picnics can be arranged if you are feeling romantic.

Other things to note
We may accommodate your dog if arranged in advance. There are many walking trails and beaches near by. Keep in mind that we have 2 cats and 1 dog on the premises but not in the house.

Just outside the historic village of Maitland among the rolling hills and mature trees you will find this gem. There is so much to explore if you are a nature lover or maybe a sunny rest on our large patio is more your beat. Maitland has Canada's oldest general store, the Lawrence house museum and the 215 art gallery. You are only a 5 minute drive from Anthony park where there is a fantastic beach that is practically untouched letting you experience the fundy mud and the worlds highest tides. Every day the landscape is a little different and at low tide you can walk the bay floor and see all the small caves and interesting rock formations. If you like bald eagles I have a secret beach to show you. Tidal bore rafting is only a 2 minute drive away and is guaranteed fun. There are walking trails and so much more. I will be glad to tell you all about it in my warm kitchen.

Welcome to La Maison Larochelle. My partner Domarlie and I would love the opportunity to share our lovely little peace of paradise with you. Our home was built in 1867 and is as old as Canada it's self. A parsonage for the then Methodist church next door, previously owned by Acadians and on the unceded land of Mi'kma'ki with a very rich history. We have become known for our great food and we cater to any palette. You will not leave hungry. The ambiance here is warm and friendly, the decor is what I lovingly call HAG, (holistic, antique, gypsy). We work very hard to give you an experience and not just a bed and breakfast. Our beds are extremely comfortable with the best quality linens, fluffy large towels and beautiful views. Our grounds have many outdoor sitting areas in either sun or shade. Nothing better than our zero-gravity chairs, a cozy blanket, reading a book in the shade of the chestnut tree. We cook as organically and locally sourced as possible. We are blessed with many farming neighbours and a garden of our own. This old house has creaky floors, old doors, windows that open and so many stories. If you like the perfect sterile and private environment of a hotel this may not be the place for you. There are no TVs but there if free wifi. BnB people tend to be friendly so you may have the opportunity to share great conversation with people from completely separate parts of the world. Although we live in a separate part of the house (the old carriage house) we will make you feel like you are visiting friends. See you soon
