The space

Casa Juventino, is a unique village house, with large private garden and swimming pool, that combines the privacy of a country property with the convenience of village life.

Located in the old part of the pretty white washed village of Riogordo you’ll find numerous bars and restaurants, a great place to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

The original part of the house has been restored retaining many of the original features such as the entrance doors, terracota tiled floors, archway and traditional chimney. The furnitures and pictures in the sitting room are traditionally Spanish, that we have enjoyed collecting from antique markets all over Andalusia.

The old stables have been converted to a modern open plan kitchen diner, with double doors to a shaded courtyard with numerous pot plants and stone staircase to the garden.

The bright and airy lounge on the first floor with contemporary floors, ceiling fans and leather sofa, has patio doors to a vine shaded terrace that connects to the stone staircase that lead to the garden and swimming pool.

There is one double bedroom on the ground floor with window to the street. On the first floor there are a further two double and one single bedrooms. Two with balconies to the street, and the master en suite with terrace overlooking the gardens and pool.
All are of good size, with antique beds, modern mattresses and feather pillows and duvets.

The family bathroom is a good size, with bath/shower and washing machine. The ensuite has a shower cubicle, and there is a downstairs toilet. Bath and swimming towels are provided.

Take breakfast under the vines on the small patio or dine alfresco on the large table by the pool, whilst watching the sun go down behind the mountains. The garden is a great space to enjoy the consecutive days of clear blue blue skies whilst listening to the relaxing sound of water in the privacy of an established garden.

Simon's house in Riogordo is beautiful. The house itself, the amazing garden and pool, the wonderful and fascinating artwork and antique furniture. Everywhere there is something lovely to look at both inside and outside. Also great kitchen and comfy beds with lovely bedlinen. Everything was super clean and so well cared for. As other people have said a little bit of paradise.

We had a pleasant stay in Simons house one week in may. Both the house and the garden was really nice. Simon also proved to be a very good host, who was both helpful and easy to get in touch with. Thumbs up!

This house was a little haven in a village setting. You would not expect a pool but it was a necessity as the weather was unusually hot for September. The house had everything we needed and was very spacious. The village offered all facilities such as supermarkets, restaurants and bars. To be honest we never left the village in the whole 7 days as everything was so convenient. The people were friendly and the host was on hand should there be any questions. We felt it was like a home from home. Would come back again.

This house is GORGEOUS! There are absolutely no complaints whatsoever regarding my stay here. Just came back from the Spain holiday a week ago, with my family, and I have to say the house and neighbourhood is more than we expected. The house itself is super clean, everywhere is really spacious and well decorated. There's everything you need to live there. i.e. for cooking, washing up, ironing etc. The garden is beautiful, and the swimming pool is epic! My sisters and I learned how to swim whilst there. ^^ The pictures don't reveal everything that it has in store, so anyone looking for somewhere to stay should defo rent this place. The people in Riogordo are really friendly; the neighbour across us came over and introduced himself, saying to ask him is we need help with anything. Which reminds me, LEARN A BIT OF SPAINISH! English wont help you here, but luckily we bumped into someone who did speak it, so we were able to find out a few tips about living here. The corner shops and supermarkets are close by which was really handy except when we found out about siesta's - in the afternoon all shops are closed due to the heat, so buy your lunch beforehand! The city is a half hour drive, which was also nice (mum went full shopaholic mode at the malls). Both hosts were very helpful whenever we called for something and for that THANKYOU! ~ ^o^ ~ My favourite bit about this house is the fact that there is a mini library! I got through 3 good books during my stay. There's tons of hangers in the cupboards too. Overall, we are all more than happy with our stay here, a definite 5 star accommodation.

The holiday itself was pleasant. The only downside was the host - my elderly father sat on a broken sunbed, which he was lucky not to have hurt himself on. When reported to the host he didn't apologise but tried to charge us for it and was extremely rude in communications. I wouldn't use him again.

Response from Simon:
I would like to point out that the sun bed was not broken when you arrived, and you did not report the damage to us, the cleaner discovered the damage after you had left. When I contacted you the following evening, this was your response. ' We just returned late yesterday but did intend to get in touch about this.' The wooden sun bed was less than a year old, it did not break by someone just sitting on it. In four years of renting three different properties, this is only the second time I have withheld money from a damage deposit, I expect wear and tear, but if something is broken by misuse, that is what the damage deposit is for.

A lovely house with a beautiful garden. Perfect for our family. The village is also a good location for trips around the area, and we had a great week there.

My family and I stayed in Simons house in Riogordo for a week at the end of August.. the weather was perfect, hot with clear blue skies everyday. the house itself is a total pleasure to stay in, there are lots of cool areas to hang out and four beautifully decorated good size bedrooms. The outside area is a little paradise, it is very private with a small but lovely pool. The whole area stays in the sun all day and cooling off in the pool while looking at the amazing views of the surrounding country side is heaven... There are shops and sweet family run bars/restaurants within a short walking distance from the hOuse and a wonderful surrounding area to explore by car. Simon was a perfect host and responded to all our queries and requests instantly, we felt very welcome and very comfortable. We will be back and will be recommending the house to our friends.
