About the building: 3445 Studios is a mixed-use building with 4 dwelling units and 2 storefront retail spaces located on California Avenue SW (West Seattle's Main Street), midway between the Admiral shopping district and the Alaska Junction and uphill from Alki Beach.
Downtown Seattle is a 10-minute drive away by car over the West Seattle bridge. The #50 bus to downtown stops a few doors away (20 min ride). The Water Taxi is also a nice option for getting downtown; it's cheap and super fun. Here in the 'hood there are many great restaurants, bars, shopping and recreation opportunities within walking distance.
Full kitchen access and laundry if needed.
Interaction with Guests
I am pretty quiet but I don't mind engaging in conversation when the opportunity presents itself. I do work at home but my office is separate from the rest of the apartment.
There are several restaurants within a block and a good number more within 5 blocks. Almost all needed services are within walking distance, including a grocery store, post office, nail salons, running track, two public parks, meat butcher, and coffee shops.
There is a metro bus stop a few doors away. The 55 Bus goes directly downtown, or take the 50 or the 128 and transfer at the Alaska Junction to the RapidRide C line going downtown.
Other Things to Note
I do not have cable TV. I won't mind if you use my TV to stream Netflix or watch a DVD, but most guests prefer to watch movies privately in the room on their own laptop and I prefer that too. Also, access to the apartment involves climbing a flight of stairs. You may find this difficult if you are mobility-challenged.
Come and go as you please, but please enter quietly from 10 pm - 8 am.
David was a great host. Great room, wonderful building. Clean safe and quiet.
The apartment is just like the picture, very pretty. The location is convenient, especially if you have a car. Lots of grocery stores nearby. Parking on West Seattle is plenty. Easy drive to Alki beach. Also easy to get to Downtown Seattle, by car or by bus. David is very nice host.
Being in David's place is like jumping into a page from Dwell magazine. Downtown Seattle is minutes away by RapidRide bus. David is mostly busy with work, but he is a very nice person once you get to know him a bit. Anyone will enjoy their stay here, but it would be ideal for someone who likes architecture, interior design, and green building.
This was our first AirBnB experience and it was great. Nice place, good neighborhood. Just as described. David is a friendly and easy-going host. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The private bathroom was very nice. Street parking and access were easy. Thanks David!
David's place is great. The place is tastefully designed, and the room clean. We have already recommended to several acquaintances in the area. We will definitely come back next time.
David's home was beautiful and inviting. We had an excellent stay and the location was very convenient for us (with a rental car).
David was a very gracious host. I was in town to visit a friend and had to fly in late, then had a delayed plane. He helped me find the place and get comfortable before retiring for the evening. His place was close to groceries and restaurants. I recommend staying with him.
Hi. I have lived happily in West Seattle for almost 10 years and in Seattle for 25 years. By day I practice architecture and manage various rental properties. Seattle is a great city for food, film, music and outdoor recreation, with glorious mountains and water nearby.
I have spent much time in Europe, lived in Frankfurt for 6 years, and speak fluent German.
Looking forward to meeting you!
