Welcome to Hartford! We have traveled all over the world using AirBNB and are happy to welcome fellow travelers to our studio just outside of downtown Hartford.
High Def TV and stereo - We don't have cable but we do have HDMI and VGA cables that will hook your computer up to the screen.
About the apartment:
Our modern studio is on the top (6th) floor and has over 800 square feet of space with 13 foot ceilings. The studio has a modern galley kitchen which is open to the apartment and includes a coffee maker, espresso maker, and a juicer. The living room is large and comfortable with nine foot windows the length of the room, a number of stocked book shelves, a stereo, DVD player and an HD TV (no cable). The bedroom is set apart in a nook and includes a queen sized bed, and the bathroom is large and clean. There is also a workspace if you are here for business. And if you look really hard you might spot our cute, shy cat Suky sneaking around.
About the building:
Colt Gateway is a 150 year old landmark building in south Hartford. Originally the manufacturing site of Colt handguns it is now in the middle of a complete renovation. Our residential building is modern, clean, and secure, and includes a small gym with TV and stereo which you are free to use. The complex is located about .5 miles from the Convention Center and downtown. There is a bus stop directly in front of the building and there is ample free parking right next to the building that you are welcome to use.

Just treat the apartment as you would your own.
The studio was beautiful and had a great view. This was my first time using airbnb and I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Amanda and Brian were very accommodating on a last minute request. I didn't get to meet them, but their instructions and directions were clear and thorough, and their communication was kind.
The studio was awesome. I would definitely stay here again on a trip through Hartford, and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
The neighborhood was close enough to downtown Hartford that I could have easily driven anywhere, but the apartment was nice enough to make me never want to leave.
Amanda and Brian, although I never met them, were very accommodating through the entire check-in process.
Also, the cat is super chill haha
Amanda and brian were extremely helpful in their directions for the apartment. It was super clean and enjoyable to stay at. The place was absolutely beautiful! Thanks so much for the easy and quick booking :)
Amanda and Brian were super welcoming and accommodating (they even made arrangements to move the cat due to my allergies). The apartment was very clean, comfortable and had really great light. They were very responsive and made it a great stay.
A very pleasant experience staying in this apartment. It kind of felt like home after a few days.
I didn't get to meet the hosts, but communication was good and everything was as described in the listing and for arrival.
The only drawback I had was that I didn't have a vehicle, so it was probably a 12 minute walk to the closest restaurant downtown, even though the cafe downstairs was very convenient for coffee and lunch.
And unfortunately, there's not much else around the neighborhood for amenities ( i.e., coffee shops, grocery stores, bars) within a reasonable walk.
A car would be a plus to get around, for both going to restaurants and sight seeing ( even though I walked to the Mark Twain Museum and the Wadsworth Atheneum).
Overall, I think the experience in this apartment was good and the listing is as described.
Amanda and Brian were excellent hosts. They were flexible with our arrival and departure times, considering flight delays. They were more than accommodating with directions and recommendations with regards to where to go, what to do, and where to eat. Brian recommended a few places that delivered and he was spot on. The space was gorgeous and inviting. Pictures do not do it justice. The view overlooking the Connecticut River is absolutely beautiful in the morning. The neighbors were especially friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
I'm currently working as a land use planner outside of Hartford. Brian is attending law school. We have booked many airbnb stays all over the world and are happy for the chance to do some hosting!
