Check-in and Check-out
A check-in and check-out time will be scheduled. If possible, we are able to be flexible on the check-in and check-out times. It will need to be agreed upon at least 48 hours before your arrival date, additional notice is appreciated. We will meet you at the apartment at the scheduled check-in time. We will show you around the apartment and answer any questions you may have about Montevideo and things to do in the area. Early morning or late night check-in and check-outs (outside of regular operating hours 7 am to 9 pm) will be charged at an additional cost of $30 USD.
As apartment owners, we maintain the highest cleanliness standards possible with our apartment. In order to provide the best rate possible to our renters, we choose not to apply a cleaning fee. Upon doing this, we expect the renters to leave our apartment in a tidy condition - meaning, all dishes need to be washed, garbage will be collected and disposed of, old food items need to be thrown away. We really appreciate your attention to this, if not tidy upon check-out a $50 fee will collected upon checkout.
Electricity Charges and Green Consciousness
We charge for electricity at cost to encourage our guests to use the air conditioning and other electric devices responsibly. Our guests normally use between $1 US to $4 US per day. Upon check in and check out an electric reading is taken. The cost of usage as determined by the Electric Company will then be charged and paid at check-out in Uruguayan Pesos. We would like our vacationers to be energy conscious and responsible for their energy use. We furnished this apartment as green as possible. We have accommodated the apartment with LED lights and energy efficient appliances and light bulbs, help the planet, and your wallet.

Greg and Erica received us very well, with all necessary instruction about the apartment and surroundings. They prepared a kind of manual that includes all you need to make the stay as comfort as possible, including best places to visit, restaurants, supermarkets, transportation, etc. They also provided a mobile phone (pre-paid), which is very useful when you are abroad. It was very easy to contact them for any reason, with immediate response.
The apartment is in a historical building in the old city, close to the main touristic sightseeing, supermarket, bus and taxi station, restaurantes and bakery. You can find everything within a walking distance. It was completed furnitured with all necessary for our stay. Despite its age, the apto was completely renovated.
The only problem was the hot weather in January. During the night, the apartment was too hot and the portable air conditioner could not make it easy.
We stayed at Erica and Gregoire's apartment over the Christmas and New Year period, the apartment is exactly like it is in the pictures. We loved it, spacious apartment with bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom all with high ceilings and loads of natural light. The kitchen has a fridge, gas hob and small convection oven and we cooked roast beef and roast veg Xmas day, the shower is lovely and always had hot water, the wifi is also great and constant. Greg and Erica were lovely and always at the end of an email if required, they also leave a pay as you go mobile in the apartment if you need to use it and a great information pack of where to eat, shop and things to do. The apartment is in a great location in the old town, a few blocks from The Rambla and Puerto Mercado, Plaza Independence and close to supermarkets. The apartment has everything you need, fan, AC, hairdryer, iron, towels, cleaning equipment and the kitchen is well equipped. It also looks out onto the pedestrian street Sarandi where there are street traders. The apartment building has good security as the outside door is always locked. We would 100% recommend this apartment, our bus was not until late and Erica and Greg let us check out late, thank you Erica and Greg for all your kindness and giving us a home away from home, our first airbnb experience and an excellent one.
Erica und Greg sind wunderbare Gastgeber, die sich sehr fürsorglich kümmern. Wir haben den Aufenthalt als sehr angenehm genossen und uns stetig gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Das Apartment ist mitten in der Altstadt und fast alle Ziele sind entweder zu Fuß oder mit den preiswerten Bussen bequem zu erreichen. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen.

Erica and Greg were so nice and walked us to their apartment from the BuqueBus station. The apartment was really cool! The neighborhood isn't very populated at night, as it is a business area, but there were no safety issues and with the installation of cameras in Old Town (where the apartment is) by the city, we felt fine. It is the city so there is a little noise at night. The apartment is located in a lovely old building right on the main pedestrian street with places to eat, etc. They had a huge book of things to do and places to eat and were very helpful when we asked about taking any day trips. It is the exact opposite of Pocitos (where many expats stay), which we loved.

We are a French, American couple from Burgundy and Montana that relocated to Montevideo, Uruguay. We have two sweet daughters, Pénélope and Talia. A perfect day for us would be spent cooking and sipping wine, enjoying time with friends and family, taking our girls for a walk on the beach, or watching a new film.
