About This Listing
A gorgeous, recently built post & beam cottage on Sucker Lake, just minutes from the charming village of Rosseau. Great in all seasons, it is the perfect place to curl up in front of the cozy fire with a book, enjoy a glass of wine watching the sunset on the dock, walk in the autumn leaves, or enjoy dinner overlooking the lake. There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen both down by the lake, and in the surrounding woods.
The waterfront has a small sandy area with natural vegetation, and the lake is waist deep at the end of the dock - no diving. There are two kayaks & a paddleboat for your use. There is also a grassy area close to the shore which has a fire pit.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms upstairs (1 double, 1 twin & 1 triple), a den with a sofa bed, as well as additional living space & a finished walk out lower level. A fully equipped kitchen, dvd player, cd player, limited television, no wireless or telephone but cell phone reception so you are welcome to bring a 'hub' for an internet connection. It is the perfect place to switch off.
Linen can be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own if possible.
The cottage is best suited for 4 adults and at most, 2 children. Upon request, the property can accommodate 2 additional adults for a fee of $50.00 per adult, per night.
The village of Rosseau offers a fabulous General Store (which sells EVERYTHING), a coffee shop, LCBO, library, antique stores, a gas station & the best food north of Toronto at Crossroads. There is also a local Nursing Station for medical needs.
There is a weekly market every Friday during the summer, along with a great waterfront with a beach, playground, and docks for swimming & boating.
Rosseau is located 2.5hours north of Toronto via Hwy 400. The village is 35min from Bracebridge & Parry Sound, and 45 mins from Huntsville. All three towns have great shops & amenities, along with hospitals.

Photos just can't do this place justice. I think we all spent about an hour walking around saying "I can't believe how beautiful this place is" after we arrived. The cabin is immaculate and we couldn't be more happy with our choice to stay here. Our only complaint is that two nights wasn't enough for us, none of us wanted to leave! Thanks again, this is truly the most beautiful place in the world and we feel lucky that we had a chance to stay here.
If you are planning to book a cottage get-a-way, stop here! This is the place to be! Wake up and smell the fresh air in this great open concept home, with many windows to allow the fresh breeze to make you smile. The cottage is beautifully and lovingly maintained, inside and out. The town is full of friendly people, who if asked, give you copious details of the town's history. The owners gave us an inspirational nudge to visit the local art galleries (one owned by the owners of this cottage), antique stores and book store. It was a pleasure to purchase such captivating pieces of art, but more importantly, it was nice to support the town's local artist. Like we said last year, the owners are great people and we look forward to visiting this very same cottage for a third time.
What a treat! This lovely treehouse was an incredible perch for my group of 4. We were visited by a beaver, frogs, toads, goldfinches, deer and a raptor during our stay. Thank you to Robyn and her family for hosting - everything from communication to amenities were impeccable. Thank you for making our weekend so warm and welcoming.
Buffi + Dave are two lovely, caring, and genuine individuals. My family stayed at their beautiful cottage over the long weekend and had a fantastic time. Buffi + Dave came to check up on us when we got to the cottage, running through things that may be of interest to us (ie: restaurants, things to do, where stuff is placed in the cottage...). The cottage itself is absolutely wonderful. Amazing, amazing view. The post doesn't do it justice!! It is also exceptionally equipped, very very clean, and very cozy!! Would highly recommend both the hosts and the space itself :)
This was the second time a few girlfriends & I had a getaway at this amazing cottage. The accommodations & set up are perfect, even for a weekend mostly indoors because of the (still!) snowy weather outside. We had the fire going & had a perfect time lazying about in the cozy homey & very bright & sunny living room. The spacious kitchen is a dream to cook in, equipped with everything you'd need, even to feed a bigger group of people. Buffi & Dave, our local hosts were friendly & communicative prior to us heading up & were extremely generous in accommodating some of our requests & making sure that everything was as we needed it to make the weekend truly relaxing & worry-free. The view of the lake & surrounding trees is breathtaking from so high up, it's a beautiful reflection of Canadian wilderness.
This beautiful cottage was just perfect for me & 4 of my girlfriends as an escape from the city for a late September weekend. The whole set-up was cozy & clean, everything was in great shape & we really wanted for nothing! The open concept is perfect, the beds were comfy, the fireplace was super on the cooler evenings, and the view & lake were breathtaking! We spent days on the dock & evenings on the verandah & inside, and every moment was really a memory in the making. Beth & David were really welcoming with their correspondence & Robyn was quick to communicate with us if we had questions leading up to the trip. This retreat is a gem in the heart of Muskoka, we couldn't get over the fall colours & had amazing moments on the water. It was everything we'd hoped for, and more!
