  • Two guys met us there and handed over the keys and walked us through everything. If you plan to use the washer /dryer, have them show you how it works.

The apartment worked well for us, we liked the location, it's in a great neighborhood, pretty quiet at night. We would probably rent it again. The grocery store isn't right around the corner as others have mentioned, but not too far away, maybe a 10min walk. Red light district is about a 25 min walk, about the same to Centraal station. Tram lines 17 & 10 to central area, or Museum area are pretty close, we used them a few times. There are lots of nice restaurants in the Jordaan, many are concentrated a few block north of the apartment.

We had a group of 5 adults, there is room for a couple more. The first floor of the apartment is on the 4th floor of the building (using the American system, ground floor = 1st floor). As mentioned by many others the stairs are very steep, this wasn't a problem for us, but it could be for old people, or those with injuries.

The lower floor consists of a good sized kitchen/dining room. The kitchen has minimal pots/pans/plates bowls cups, utensils, etc. Barely enough to get by, but we made it work. We had breakfast here everyday, and cooked a few dinners. The stove and oven both worked. The dishwasher had a VERY strong chemical smell coming from it so we didn't use it. There is a small fridge and freezer. no microwave oven.

A TV room that has a sofa and futon, and a folding bed, so you could sleep about 4 kids in there or a few adults. There is also a bedroom on this level with 2 twin beds. And a toilet, the only one. I thought this could be a problem for 5 of us, but it was fine. There is WiFi, it worked fine for us.

Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with 2 twin beds. The beds are OK, not super comfortable, but not terrible either. The back bedroom has a rooftop terrace outside. There is a laundry room, with a shower and separate bathub. Shower worked well. Clothes washer worked fine but we had problems with the dryer. The dryer worked at first, one or two loads, but then we couldn't get it to dry anything, it spins around, stops for a while, spins some more, but no heat, so we gave up. European appliances are kind of baffling, with overly complex controls, cryptic icons, no words, very different than what we are used to in the US.

There are radiator heaters in all rooms, they worked well for us, we were plenty warm.

  • Nice stay in a nice calm neighborhood.

Internet wasn't great though. Should be a problem if you do not need it that much.

As everyone said, the stair to the apartment resemble a hiking trip. Do not even consider it if you have huge luggage or older people on your group.

  • The apartment was spacious with a large kitchen. Unfortunately there was only one toilet where as the photos show two. The second toilet was locked with cleaning supplies. Beware the stairs - very narrow and steep. Elder people, pregnant women and young child would have problems with them. Definitely would not be able to get anything but carry on luggage up the stairs. The place could have been a bit cleaner upon arrival. Overall the apartment is close to many restaurants and Central Station - easy to get to on public transport. Internet only worked in the kitchen area and not in the bedrooms.

  • Location was fantastic, very close to everything. Appartement was spacious and we had plenty of room for 8. There were a few issues however: he said the internet would work but it never did, thankfully there are lots of places in Amsterdam that had free wifi but this was inconvenient. Also the freezer didn't work which was also inconvenient

  • This apartment is in a fantastic location in Amsterdam. Jordaan is a nice district approximately 15 minutes walk from central Amsterdam. Very close to bars, shops and restaurants. The house itself is very spacious and can house many people. We had a group of 5 and it was perfect and left very clean for us. The stairs to this apartment are very steep and it was quite painful dragging our bags up and down them but this was only a minor nuisance. Would definitely recommend this place and stay here again!

  • the appartment is very spacious and only about 15 min. away from the center.
The steps to the app. are very steep and that's why I don't think this app. is suitable for everyone.
The agency is advertising two toilets, but one of them was filled with toilet paper and cleaning items, also we had to clean it up first. Overall we had fantastic time in Amsterdam!

  • The apartment has a great location, close to the heart of the city.
I only met Swen (who is a frienf of Jesse). He was very kind and friendly. We were a company of 8 people and pushed the apartment to the limit. BUT there was only one WC (the second was closed) and we had only 4 towels for 8 persons. (There were a lot of them in the dryer but there were still wet until the time we left).
Also, smoking is prohibited opposed to the Ad.

  • Nice place. Close to everything. could use another bathroom. VERY steep stairs

    September 2013
  • It was a really nice apartment, good location. It could have been a little bit cleaner and without working lights in the kitchen/diningroom it was not that good. We had enough space and a lot of fun with the steep stairs:)

    August 2013
  • The apartment was clean and in a good location. It was just a short walk or bus trip to many popular tourist attractions. Our host was quite cooperative and even assisted us in retrieving some jackets that we left behind.
