About this listing
A truly wonderful 3 bedroom condo with all the amenities you could need. The view is amazing and one of the best in Manzanillo!
Manzanillo, Mexico... Come visit one of the most beautiful places in the world, where there is always a tropical breeze and the weather is superb. Our spacious, comfortable, and well equipped three bedroom condo with an extended balcony, is conveniently located between Las Hadas and Karmina Palace. We never get over the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, neither will you!
The oversized master bedroom occupies the whole second floor with its own private bathroom en suite. The two spacious bedrooms on the main floor, both with king-size beds, share a bathroom. All the linens are 100% cotton sheets and the designer towels are soft and luxurious.
The open living and dining area with a very well equipped kitchen leads out on to the balcony giving you superb views day and night. Eat inside or out on the deck, whatever suits your mood. Everything you could need is on hand. This 1600 sq. ft. condo is one of the nicest in the area!
Walk down to the secluded and vendor-free beach to swim, snorkel or just relax and read a good book. You can walk along the beachside path and go to either Las Hadas or Karmina Palace for drinks or lunch or dinner. You can even access Manzanillo Bay for miles of beach walking by passing through Karmina Palace. Dolphin Cove Inn is right next door and shares the same beach. Their restaurant is just a few steps away and is convenient when you do not feel like cooking.
The Riviera Mar property is beautifully maintained, with colourful flowers everywhere, as you walk down the stairs. It is run by a full-time english speaking manager, Juan, with a private pool and lots of additional staff to make sure that your vacation is great.
We fell in love with this place.... we know you will too! All this convenience and less expensive than a hotel!
The pool is shared by the owners of the condo complex.
The water is purified on the peninsula and is safe, however if you wish to have a large bottle of water delivered to the condo prior to your arrival, it needs to be arranged in advance. The cost for a bottle is available for a nominal amount.
There are stairs from the condo down to the pool (2 flights) and beach, as my condo is on the top floor of the middle building. This property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Interaction with Guests
The staff at RivieraMar are available to assist with any questions or concerns that you may have. I am also easily reachable by email or phone to help as well.
The city bus stops right outside the condo complex and takes you to the local shopping centre on the main boulevard.
Yes, the view is spectacular, however the beach is WAY down going down several flights of stairs. There is no elevator. One of our members had ankle injuries in July previous to March booking and this was problematic. We were travelling with teenagers and no WiFi was available. The water heating system can not accommodate more than three short showers. We were disappointed.
We had a great time staying in Katrine's condo in Manzanillo. Everything about it was better than described or the pictures could show. Katrine has done an excellent job making the condo feel both spacious and cozy. The 3 bedrooms were HUGE, with excellent king-size mattresses and beautiful furnishings. The openness of the comfortable living area/dining table/kitchen with peninsula was welcoming, and Katrine's personal touches made it feel like we were staying with an old friend. But the best was the incredible view of the ocean -- nice to stay inside with a cup of hot chocolate and watch the clouds and rain, even better to relax in the comfortable chaise longues or have lunch at the table on that amazing terrace. Katrine, John, and Jose all were welcoming and eager to offer any information or assistance to make our stay special. FYI, we were 5, ranging in age from 32-62, and all were sorry to leave. We'd go back again in a heartbeat. If that's not enough encouragement, the architecture and landscaping is such that you feel like you've landed in a private, luxurious garden. The pool was beautiful, tucked away a bit, a great place to frolic with friends on a sunny afternoon, or drift about floating on your back while watching the night sky. Two notes of concern might be worth pointing out, though not meant to discourage: there are LOTS of stairs, both from the parking area down to the condo level, and even more from there to the gate to the beach (over 100). They are wide, well-made, and well-lit; still, arthritic knees had a bit of a struggle.
Katrine was very friendly and extremely helpful. She provided us with lots of information and was quick to respond to all of our questions.
The condo was beautiful and looked just like the photos on Airbnb. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The
washer/dryer was not working but the condo manager offered to have our laundry done for us. The staff at Riviera Mar were great!
The small beach in front of the condo was really nice for swimming and snorkelling. I was pleasantly surprised at how warm the water was.
It was easy to catch buses to shop for food, go to the markets in Manzanillo and Santiago or to venture further afield to Playa Miramar, Colima or Melaque. We felt safe wherever we went.
Some of the evening music from the nearby all-inclusive was interesting but it didn't continue too late
The one downside was the construction next door to the condo but Katrine told us about it before we arrived.
All in all we had a great time.

About the Host, Katrine
I am extremely lucky to have two super vacation properties that I rent when I am not able to be there myself. I am not yet retired, still a long way to go, so cannot spend as much time in my two homes as I would like!
I grew up in Montreal and love getting away to Tremblant for the weekend, so I purchased a fantastic little cottage right next to the old village area. I can walk to restaurants and shops, and also go cross country skiing or biking right outside my door.
I visited Manzanillo for the first time for New Years January 2002 and absolutely fell in love with the area. I enjoyed it so much that I brought my son down for a two week summer vacation. That lead to looking at real estate during our trip and we thoroughly covered the two bays to find what we thought would suit us best. When we stepped out onto the deck and saw the view, we knew that Riviera Mar was the place for us. We have made wonderful friends with the owners in the complex and it is truly our second home.
