This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get.

Interaction with Guests
We check in with guests daily and are helpful in navigating your stay in Ubud. We have staff available to assist you with your every need. If you choose to dine in ubud and return after dark, someone will greet you and walk you back to your room. They will place Incense and offerings at your door daily and make sure your space is clean and you have what you need. There is nothing more spectacular than having a candlelit dinner under the stars. We will make sure you feel safe and very well cared for.
This is a hidden spot literally just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Ubud with its restaurants and shops, but it feels lost in time and like a total retreat. In the day you will only meet rice farmers and local women blessing the rice. At night you will only see fireflies and hear the rushing river, crickets and the distant sounds of the temple. An evening massage is a great way to end the day at sunset on the terrace. We have an in house masseuse who is available by appointment.
You can walk to town in five minutes or we are happy to rent you a scooter or arrange a driver for longer excursions. We can also assist with local hiking, biking or rafting tours.
Other Things to Note
This is a unique place and is not for everyone. It is eco tropical living at its best but with that comes nature in all its glory. Things to note: There is no air-conditioning although because of the location there is a constant cool breeze and you may even enjoy the quilt we provide at night. This cottage is a woven basket with a living bamboo and traditional grass roof leaving it totally open and in nature. Some people have asked about security. It is very secluded and very safe. However if you have valuables we are happy to lock them up for you. We have staff available to assist you and ensure you have what you need at all times. You will be very well cared for.
Sleeping in nature is something most of us don't do as we sleep in sealed rooms. It can be transformative to sleep in a natural setting, open to the cool night air, listening to the crickets and chirping geckos, the sounds of the nearby rushing stream with the fireflies glittering in the night. Don't let the unusual openness of the space deter you, this is an experience you won't soon forget.
The bamboo cottage offers a unique experience set in a beautiful array of rice fields. The hut itself is very comfortable, we really enjoyed the open air shower, and the breakfast and coffee were great. Most of all, Wayan was a great host who was very accommodating and easy to contact.
The bamboo eco cottage is wonderful and Wayan and his younger brothers are so helpful and happy and friendly and we couldn't have asked for anything more perfect.
Make sure you organise dinner on the patio, they lit candles and brought dinner to us and it was not only delicious but generous and very romantic.
Breakfast every day was fantastic, my partner had pancakes and french toast and we had hot thermos' of water brought out when we wanted tea or coffee. Only a short walk back into Ubud very close to Bali Buda and Seniman although we could have quite happily stayed out there at the Eco Cottage without a need to go into town.
Fall asleep to the sounds of frogs and insects and flowing water. Fireflies.
Highly recommend this place and the service from Wayan was fantastic. Thanks so much for having us!
We enjoyed our stay in the Bamboo Cottage very much! A staff member brought us through the rice fields to the cottage late night. It was a kind welcome! It looks just like on the pictures. It is really lovely. My favorite part was the shower with the view of the stars!
Yes, there are no doors and yes there are bugs. However, it is part of the experience. I can fully recommend it. We had felt save all the time.
A further highlight was the breakfast, which was different each day.
We once had the homemade Nasi Campur for dinner. It is a very nice dish you should try!
The staff is helpful, kind and reliable. They cater to your needs very well.
Truly amazing and dreamy location in the rice fields - the pictures really don't do justice! Wayan and Ketut are both so helpful and took such good care of all our needs and requests. Breakfasts were always yummy, healthy, and served with a smile. Having WiFi in the bamboo cottage was fantastic. Airport pickup was flawless. Wish we could have stayed longer!
This Bamboo cottage in the rice fields was exactly like it is in the pictures. It is such a magical location, with 360 degree rice field views! You definitely feel like you in your own little piece of paradise. The cottage is very unique and open so you are surrounded by nature. Wayan was very helpful and provided assistance in carrying our bags to the cottage as it is a 10 minute walk from the parking area. He also brought us refreshments and food, which was amazing. I would love to stay at this cottage again...it is an experience to remember!
The cottage is really nice and the host is one of the better ones, they provide a small menu, and service! you can call them with a provided mobile phone! location is awesome...! The people working in surrounding rice fields are very friendly.... you need a scooter (which they van provide) or have a longer (20 minute) walk to center of Ubud. but because it is a bit on the outskirts, you are really between ricefields and beautiful views!
I personally loved our stay in the eco-cottage. Amazing views and a quirky little house to stay in. Admittedly found it a little creepy in the night with only curtains for doors but looking back this added to the experience. My girlfriend enjoyed it as well but for her the bugs proved a slight cause for concern, but can't say they bothered me. Lovely place to spend a night or 2.
