About this listing

This bamboo cottage is a secluded eco retreat down a quiet foot path nestled in the rice fields and only a five minute walk to central Ubud. Open air basket weave bedroom with mini loft, modern elegant bathroom and outdoor living area make this a truly unique Bali experience.

The space

This is a woven house made almost entirely of bamboo. It is open air and as close to living in nature as you get.

Guest access

We have a complete menu and full service to the cottage is just a phone call away with the complimentary cell phone we provide . We offer a complete menu of asian fusion snacks as well as a traditional balinese village style dinner served with candlelight and all accessories for a formal dining experience under the stars. dinner is prepared fresh from wild harvested or ingredients from our organic garden. Breakfast is delivered when you awake on the patio overlooking a lush greenery as far as the eye can see.
In addition to an organic garden we have a friendly goat who provides us with fresh milk we make into goat cheese and frequently serve in our delicious morning omelettes. The property is surrounded by rice fields with many opportunities for hiking.

Interaction with guests

We check in with guests daily and are helpful in navigating your stay in Ubud. We have staff available to assist you with your every need. If you choose to dine in ubud and return after dark, someone will greet you and walk you back to your room. They will place Incense and offerings at your door daily and make sure your space is clean and you have what you need. There is nothing more spectacular than having a candlelit dinner under the stars. We will make sure you feel safe and very well cared for.

Other things to note

This is a unique place and is not for everyone. It is eco tropical living at its best but with that comes nature in all its glory. Things to note: There is no air-conditioning although because of the location there is a constant cool breeze and you may even enjoy the quilt we provide at night. This cottage is a woven basket with a living bamboo and traditional grass roof leaving it totally open and in nature. Some people have asked about security. It is very secluded and very safe. However if you have valuables we are happy to lock them up for you. We have staff available to assist you and ensure you have what you need at all times. You will be very well cared for.

Sleeping in nature is something most of us don't do as we sleep in sealed rooms. It can be transformative to sleep in a natural setting, open to the cool night air, listening to the crickets and chirping geckos, the sounds of the nearby rushing stream with the fireflies glittering in the night. Don't let the unusual openness of the space deter you, this is an experience you won't soon forget.

The accomodation had beautiful surroundings and having booked this month's ago we had high expectations. Unfortunately we were disappointed! The bed linen was not clean at all and smelled terrible. We didn't get a flashlight or a phone because the guy at the check in told us we were only staying for 1 night anyway (okay but we wanted the full experience!). The breakfast was cold French toast and I asked for green tea but got black tea 2 times. In the bathroom at our accommodation there was no warm water during the entire stay and the water at the sink kept running during the entire stay. Nothing got fixed. We were not happy with our stay and very disappointed about paying so much money for this.

The eco-cottage was an idyllic, quiet, lovely dream of a little place! Just so you know what you are signing up for: Do not expect reliable wi-fi. Do not expect a bug-free space. Do not expect your sheets to smell squeaky clean, as slightly mildewy smells are unavoidable in Ubud's rainy, humid climate. Do not expect four course meals. But DO expect a peaceful retreat that feels miles away from the hubbub of central Ubud, and yet is close enough that you can walk to the city center in 5-10 minutes. We checked in with ease, were given a great tour of the padi fields, and the staff were incredibly pleasant and wonderful. They made us a simple but delicious dinner, brought coffee over to our porch in the morning, and did everything to make sure we were comfortable and happy. In the morning we woke to roosters crowing, the sound of water rushing through the fields below us, and a cool open breeze. It was one of the best airbnb experiences I've ever had!

The place was accomodating and nicely secluded, the only issue was the loud noises from the outside animals/ nature

We stayed for 2 nights this was probably enough, when nature was loud outside its hard to sleep, especially if its raining. There are some bugs that like to come in, but your in nature what do you expect, thats the beauty of the property. The staff are a group of young lads who are very nice and easy to chat to, they are really helpful. The main area where breakfast is served is a really social space we met so many new people. I would 110% recommend staying here!

Enjoyed a great getaway from the city life at this accommodation. It's quite far from main ubud area but theres a shuttle arranged by the staff that takes you to the city twice a day and picks you up so there's plenty of opportunity to explore if you don't want to stay at the accommodation all day, although there is plenty to do if you're just looking to relax for a couple of days, such as enjoy the spa and the beautiful pool or get lost in a book while surrounded by the jungle. Overall amazing stay, no complaints.

Wonderful view. Peaceful. Be aware it is about 800 Meters to walk to stay but well with the journey.
