Come to our studio to enjoy the wonderful open space of our farm. Located near so many local attractions, including, Deer Isle, Blue Hill, Stonington, Castine and Penobscot. Add an extra bedroom for two more guests if you need. A great spot for young families!
We made this studio in our main farm house so small groups can enjoy the farm. It can also be added to the cabin and Captain Robert's house for large groups.
The field across the street is for your campfires and smores and enjoyment of the fantastic western sunsets.
Brooksville hosts the best organic farming and farmer's market on Tuesdays. Local farms bring organic foods, baked items, cheeses, pottery, jewelry and more. Fresh bread is baked 1/2 mile away, twice a week and pizza and chocolate croissants are also available. Local lobstermen make finding fresh Maine Lobsters easy and you can even get them cooked for you.
Our beach and boat house look down the river to Castine, Islesboro and Camden and the waterfront is beautiful.
Flying into Bangor is 1 hour away and Portland 3. Bar Harbor is just over an hour and Acadia is a great trip to walk or ride your bike around the trails there. Our peninsula has loads of open space and is surrounded by water and sailors love these waters. Theater, antiques, music, and local craft are nearby.

  • Carol and her husband were delightful! Great people to chat with and their property was a dream! Aunt Mary's Studio is cozy, quaint and very clean, and is set on a beautifully-kept farm. The duckies, chickens, and friendly goats just sealed the deal!

  • We had a long trip to get there and the host were great. They welcome us with a few eggs, enough to make diner. The groceries are not that close, and we got lost on the way...(we had no GPS, so our fault). We taught the extra cabin wih hammac was ready to relax, but since it was off season, we were not able. Not a lot to do in this area but far enough to let go and relax :-)

  • Carol was great! Had a stay here during the government shutdown with put a damper on my stay at Acadia and Carol was able to suggest a bunch of other things to do in the area.

The place was clean and comfortable and Carol takes great care of her property. I would recommend to a friend and stay here again.

    Thank you Carol for everything.

  • Beautiful, tastefully and artistically furnished cottage in the middle of a splendid landscape. The hosts were very accomodating; we would love to go back in future.

  • We could not have asked for nicer, more thoughtful hosts than Carol and Dick, who were a pleasure to chat with, and who delivered us fresh eggs, as well as homemade sticky buns and wild blueberries, throughout our stay. When a minor construction project at the house went on for a longer than anticipated, they were profusely apologetic and even bought us lobsters, and cooked them for us, to make up for any noise or inconvenience. (Which was minor, to begin with.) The overall environment is charming and communal.

In keeping with the charming rustic vibe of the Blue Hill peninsula, the Studio, while smalll, was well-appointed and perfect for our visit, with a great little kitchen, pleasant area to eat, and a very comfortable bedroom upstairs. The property itself is gorgeous -- it is adjacen to two beautiful beaches, surrounded by open fields, and situated at the end of a long road which was perfect for walking and running. We hope to return again.

  • Lovely, quiet spot away from the crowds, but within striking distance of Acadia and other attractions. Carol provided lots of helpful information on local highlights. We enjoyed the upstairs bedroom with the big skylight, so bright and sunny. A real treat to hear the chickens in the morning, and to have a waterfront view for sunsets. WiFi connection is spotty, and cell phone calls kept dropping; Carol offered to let use a room in her home for a better connection if we needed it. A great launching pad for exploring the Maine coast. Thank you Carol!

About
We have a lovely family farm and like having guests visit. We are in the main house but offer rooms weekly or by the day. Our life is full of nature and gardening. We love to sail and have family visit. Our home is full of many memories and reminds us of our family that lived there when all were sea captains. This farm was Captain Wasson's and our Aunt Mary's. The land is organic and we have two donkeys and ten sheep. Our chickens and garden is abundant and blueberries fill the fields.
