We were welcomed with wine and chocolate - it went quickly and was enjoyed. The beds were very comfortable and the wood stove keeps the cabin toasty. What a beautful view in a very quiet neighborhood. Loved hearing the barking sea lions and the walk to the lighthouse was invigorating.
We loved our two weeks here. We built a fire in the wood stove every day and the bedrooms were comfortable. The kitchen is great, so we cooked every night. The neighborhood is quiet and the area is gorgeous with headlands and state parks to explore. We would go again.
We LOVED it here! In the middle of a long road trip, this was the perfect place to stop and relax. We liked it so much that we re-scheduled our trip to stay an extra night. It was spacious, cozy, and offered the perfect location to access the beach, cliffs and both Mendocino and Fort Bragg.
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. It is gorgeous (photos do not do it justice), clean, quiet, beautiful view, and a well stocked kitchen - the thoughtful details (like rain boots for lighthouse walk, wood for wood burning stove, space heaters for bedrooms) make it an especially wonderful place to stay. It was the perfect setting for our New Years getaway and was at a close proximity to hikes and beaches in the area. Absolutely LOVED our stay.
We visited with my parents from Ireland (4 of us) and the cabin was perfect for us. Bigger and even nicer than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen was very well stocked so we cooked a couple of meals very easily as well as dining in Mendocino. The weather was fabulous and we sat on the deck and could hear the sea lions barking and see whale spray as they went past! We had planned to go and view the sunset from a nearby hotel but in the end realized we could see a perfect sunset from our own deck - which we did every evening with a glass of pink champagne! We kept the wood stove burning during our visit and the living area was always really cozy. Dual control electric blankets allowed me and my Mum to keep warm at 3am whilst our respective partners could remain cooler on their sides! And as another reviewer said there were heaters in the bedrooms if you preferred that. We did the walk to the cliff and it was as described and the walk to the beach in the photo is about a mile (I know because I ran past there each morning). A really great trip and I will be recommending Carole's Cabin to others.
What a sweet spot! We were in the area on a work project and Carole's Cabin was certainly a cozy spot to warm up and relax at the end of our days. The place is well stocked with amenities and the setting is gorgeous! The place felt very homey. I would love to stay here again.
My family and I have owned this property for more than 30 years and continue to enjoy time spent together here. I have always enjoyed gardening and take pride in finding unique garden art and birdhouses to add to the landscape.
