Small quiet cabin in the Redwoods

Cabin - Private room · Little River, CA 95456, United States

A stand alone cozy cottage for one person with detached private bath in the main house in a quiet, peaceful and private location.

The Space

The cottage is in an "over 55" community in the redwoods two miles from the Pacific Ocean. It is a cozy space for one. I take life 'one day at a time'. The private bathroom is down a short paved path in the main house. Fresh towels, flannel sheets and a down duvet will keep you cozy. Tea is provided as well as a small fridge for your convenience and I will provide a few limited breakfast foods and coffee. You are also are welcome to prepare simple meals.

Nearby are beautiful hiking, biking and walking trails and the village of Mendocino is just a few miles North. The larger town of Fort Bragg is an additional 20 minutes North with shopping, the Skunk Train, Glass Beach, Safeway and lots of art galleries, restaurants and activities. This part of the Northern California Coast is beautiful, photogenic and rugged. Many famous movies have been filmed here including Same Time, Next Year and the TV show, Murder She Wrote.

  • Deborah has a cozy space to relax after a day at the beach or hiking in the Redwoods. I appreciated her flexibility when unusual circumstances arose during my stay. Deborah was very accommodating as a hostess and I really appreciated her kindness. Thanks much.

  • Deborah's cabin was the perfect spot for my weekend R&R. Cute, simple and so quiet. A great place to sleep!
Deborah & Lily, her dog, were great hostesses - very welcoming & accommodating. Thanks for sharing your home.

  • Loved the serenity. Finished two books while staying with Deborah. Even her dog is silent! A restful and peaceful place to stay. Deborah is a wonderful and generous host. The cabin is furnished with all amenities you need for a short stay (fridge, tea kettle, towels, heater, more reading material, etc). The location is near many attractions of the Mendocino coast. Deborah was kind enough to suggest other places I was not aware of such as Point Cabrillo, and the small town of Westport. Her cabin is a great starting point to explore the area near the Town of Mendocino.

  • My stay at Deborah's cottage was lovely. She pays so much attention to detail and the room was quiet, with a warm and comfortable bed, and with lovely details in the bedroom, garden path and bathroom. Deborah was a friendly and welcoming hostess and I would definitely stay at her cottage again.

  • This is a lovely space. It is so quiet here that coming from a city-I could have slept all day-complete serenity.
Deborah was a generous and gracious host. She provided me with excellent insider tips on where to eat, beaches to visit and places to see. I enjoyed our conversations. To add to the experience-Lilly, the house dog, is very loving, in a gentle way-if you stay here-make sure to offer to play catch with Lilly!

I'm a quiet, rather private single woman of a certain age. I love to travel and have had the blessing in the last few years to visit many places in the world. This year (2014) I will visit Denmark, Sweden and Russia on a two-week cruise after staying in an AirBnB in London for a few days. I am both a host and a user of AirBNB services and have had nothing but good experiences to report. I don't smoke or drink and I love having great times with good friends, listening to an eclectic assortment of music, books and podcasts on my iPod and spending quality time with my dog Lily. I love living on the North Coast of California tucked away in the Redwoods near the crashing, ever-changing Pacific Ocean. Nature, music, doing volunteer and service work along with good friends feeds my soul. I live one day at a time, gratefully.
