The apartment was even closer to the Duomo than the pictures suggest. Great basic flat with a bathtub that is welcome after a few days of travel. Windows look right out onto one of main streets coming off the Duomo, but they were not too loud at night. It is in a big beautiful building (if you have trouble with stairs, make sure you ask Angelo if the elevator is fixed - personally I needed the exercise after all that pasta). Overall a great stay.
Perfect location to enjoy Firenze by walk !
really amazing location, excellent apartment and very helpful host!! the breathtaking view from the terrace really strike you!! I would definetely stay there again.
Great location! However, if you are lugging big suitcase like us, the cobble stone street proved a very interesting and challenging walk.
Agree with the air-con and heater review, would be great if it works better. Other than that, Angelo proved to be a lovely and excellent host. He helped us to book a cab to the train station as well.
Clean and bright appartments, really comfortable for staying up to 4 people, with fast wifi. Unbelievably greatly located at the historical heart of Florence - 3rd door from Duomo! All the major sites could be reached by walking through the city streets, as well as train station Florence S.M. Novella only 10 minutes away. Supermarket located nearby in the opposite building. There are many restaurants for tourists nearby, but for the best experience you should go to the square before Basilica of Santa Croce, cafes there working at lunch time and opened mostly after 19:00 in the evening, ask host for details. Host met us downstairs at entrance gates, host was very communicative, kind and polite, gave us a lot of information about working time of different sites, cafes and shops. Also host showed shared terrace, where you can have a cup of coffee looking at the Duomo's cupola which is beautiful especially at night. Enjoyed staying here, highly recommended!
Un comodo appartamento in un bellissimo palazzo. Centralissimo e con una vista meravigliosa. Un grazie ad Angelo per la disponibilita e simpatia. Firenze e sempre stupenda!! A presto!
The apartment has a great Duomo view and is within a stones throw from the Duomo. The building has a historic feel with large great windows that you can keep open during the day. The pictures don't show the air conditioner very well, but there is an air conditioner in each room. Directly outside of the apartment is a great sandwich shopped called Panino. The roasted pork was so good that we ate there three times. The location is just perfect for everything, we had the best food and saw the best sights. Everything was in walking distance from the apartment and Florence was just perfect! We will be back.
Great location. Beautiful dome view from balcony down the hall. A/C ineffective. Host (Angelo) not responsive to our requests. Bought room b/c of AC in hot Florence, but didn't cool much, and standing fan in room was broken (would not turn on). The AC I understand. It's old. So asked for working fan, some toilet paper (only 1 left for 3 people), and an adaptor for the plugs that are different than the rest of italy and europe (only 1 adaptor included for 3 people, not disclosed in listing - our normal personal plugs worked fine in Rome). Notified host late first night, and reminded him when we ran into him next day in the building. Assured us a fan at least. Nothing that day. On 3rd day, our last night, someone else stops by with toilet paper (which we already took the time to hunt down from a store and didn't need any more), an adaptor that didn't work (OK, we'll keep trying to constantly switch devices and not run out of batteries), and no fan (boo!!!). Was hard to get to sleep at night because of heat, which is why I paid more for a room that advertised AC (which I specifically told to the host), and I couldn't even get a working fan after multiple requests and a promise of one.. bummer. This is a property management deal, not a person that owns the apt, so maybe the owner wouldn't pay for a working fan? Or ?
Angelo met us outside the apartment and was very cheerful. He showed us the nice view of the Duomo from the terrace. The apartment itself was nice and spacious. The location was very central to a lot. This however meant that it was sometimes a little loud at night, but overall a great place for 3 nights in Florence.
