The flat is in an absolutely incredable location with a beautiful view from a lovely rooftop terrace over the famous Duomo. The flat is in good condition and is very comfortable. No complaints from us! Thank you Angelo
Angelo is the consummate professional. He was a good communicator and gave quick responses. We were running late from our appointment meeting time and he was very patient. He made sure we were settled in to the apartment.
The apartment is in a beautiful location. A terrace provides a stunning view of the Duomo. The apartment has a few skylights that open giving a nice touch. In Florence, near the Duomo is where you want to be and Angelo's apartment is about 50 steps from it.
Overall, great experience.
We loved the location. Liked being in the 'center' of everything. Restaurants, shops, street activity. Building was fabulous. Old, 18 inch walls. We were on the top floor, amazing structural beams and skylights. A great terrace with breathtaking views of the Duomo, which changed magnificantly with the light, and lit at night.
Kitchen was poorly equipped. Had to ask for sponges, trash bags, toilet paper. Things we thought should be supplied. Garbage needed to be hauled blocks away to a communal garbage receptacle. The 'extra bed' was a pull out sofa that couldn't be put away because there were not cushions for the sofa. Bathroom smelled really badly. Mostly from the washing machine, but the shower had a good growth of black mold. The stair going to the loft bedroom was dangerously steep. One of us slipped on it once. The rail on the loft was wobbly and unsafe (to US standards). Most of the power outlets, and there weren't many, didn't work. The WiFi was slower than dial-up of 15 years ago.
A nice flat located very close to the Duomo. This was a good choice to enjoy the wonderful Firenze. Angelo was very kind with us.
Angelo was helpful during our stay at his place. His place is very nice. It has all the amenities he listed, and it's quite spacious. In addition, the location is incredibly convenient. It is literally not even a block from Il Duomo, and most other landmarks and museums are within walking distance. It was a great stay. I highly recommend it!
Nicest location ever, literally a minute walk to duomo. It was a really nice place, sick bachelor pad for me and my two friends. Its in the center of everything and you can't get lost cause you just have to find duomo. Angelo is a really cool guy as well. Stay here
Great apartment and great location! Perfect for the few days I stayed in Florence, with most of the major attractions just a short walk from the front door. The apartment was as described, and suited my needs wonderfully. Thanks!
Very nice place, also help us to get the great restaurant! We want back to there again!
I was hospitalized with extremely bad food poisoning in Rome the day before we were to head to Florence. I emailed the host through airbnb on the day prior to my scheduled arrival in Florence and said that I would be unable to come due to hospitalization. The host said that he did not receive the email. I had only had very limited phone and internet service while hospitalized ($400 of international roaming charges), and was barely conscious, so I did not have a chance to confirm the cancellation with host. Upon return to the US I emailed the host and reiterated the reason for my last minute cancellation and inability to come to Florence. I asked if he could at least refund a portion of the 3-day stay, but never heard back from him. Technically, I did not cancel the reservation in full compliance with airbnb policy. Whether common decency should come into play at some point is another issue and subject to interpretation. Obviously, I would not book with this individual again.
This apt. is in an fantastic location to have your home base in Florence. It is walking distance to everything. The apt is very simple, but adequate. There is There is a grocery store down the street "Conad" as well as a self service laundry. There is a washer at the apt. and a rack to hang your clothes, but the dryer at the laundry sped up the process for us.
Angelo was good to communicate with by email and waited for us when our flight was delayed. His coworker Cristina also helped by texting us to see if we were ok and showing us how to work the gas stove. ( a must if you are not used to Italian homes) The place was fairly clean and supplied toilet paper, dish washing liquid and two large bath towels. If you are looking for even a littel bit of luxury, look elsewhere. The stairs to the bedroom loft are steep so are not appropriate if you have mobility issues or or need the toilet much in the night. The bed was firm and comfortable, with crisp white sheets. The view of the duomo from the skylight is great. My husband and I are 5'7 and 5'6' and we both bumped our heads so take care. There is one window and the skylight which quickly move the air if it is stuffy. There are no screens and the mosquitoes do come in. There are some repellant coils, though. It was not hot, so did not use the AC. We did use the ceiling fan which makes quite a racket but does a good job cooling .There are church bells all over (which I love) but make note there are some right across from the window that ring at 7am. We made our meals and there was some olive oil and salt which helped. There is a stove top but no oven or toaster but there is a microwave. One suggestion is for Angelo to provide a large pot for pasta, (we had to use 2 small pots) and a cutting board.
The shared Terrace has a great view of the duomo but you must bring one of the apt chairs to sit out there. Some other guests bring their clothes hangers out here for drying, too.
