The Space

Nestled among the redwoods of Cazadero, Baker's Loft studio is located in the oasis of Elim Grove, above the award-winning Raymond's Bakery – the perfect place to unwind and enjoy Sonoma County.

The owners provide a warm, appetizing atmosphere in this undiscovered woodland paradise along tranquil Austin Creek, only 20 minutes from Guerneville, Russian River wineries, or the Pacific Ocean.

Relax and unwind in this newly remodeled spacious loft which used to house the baker's family. New additions include a luxury queen bed and eating nook overlooking the garden, with a microwave and fridge for your convenience. Come down and enjoy breakfast with them or sleep in and enjoy some treats in bed.

The apartment is only a stone's throw from Austin Creek swimming hole. Sit by the bubbling creek, take a plunge, play bocce, relax under the gazebo or nap under the Gravenstein apple tree. Share a romantic evening by the campfire.

For larger groups of up to 17 persons, book Baker's Loft together with Creekside Cottage, Gravenstein Cottage, Paradise Grove Cottage, Elim Cottage, all located on the 4 acre grounds surrounding the bakery.

  • The bakery may only be open Friday through Saturday, but that doesn't stop Mark from showering you with the fruits of his labor; breakfast was amazing! The Baker's Loft was cozy, clean, and quiet! All the cabins seemed like perfect options for a getaway. Such a area to relax. Next time we hope for a visit that over-lapse a Friday night: Pizza and Live music! We had lovely time. Mark is a great guy!

  • We had a great stay here. Warm, fresh (website hidden) on tap. Welcoming hosts. And a nice warm bed. We couldn't ask for anything more. Perfect resting ground if you are looking to enjoy the redwoods and the creek.

  • One night only, but it was so nice! We will keep in mind for a long time.
We didn´t meet Mark but he arranged everything for us. Thank you.
And you can be sure, if we are in the near again, we will sit at the firepit.

  • I stayed at Mark's Baker's Loft for three days and felt comfortable and happy. Breakfasts were delicious and generous. Mark immediately made me feel like family. I arrived on a Friday and enjoyed the evening of live music and pizza. Everyone I talked to was friendly and happy to be there. My room was cozy and perfect for reading and watching the rain. Austin Creek runs next to the Bakery, very nice for walks. The Bakery, open three days a week, also serves fresh sandwiches, wine, pizza, and salads so I always had good food available. I totally enjoyed my time at Mark and Elizabeth's and recommend them highly.

  • We arrived late, but it wasn't hard to find. Very private and peaceful. Plenty of room inside; it was cozy. Breakfast was very nice with plenty of coffee, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, some danishes, orange juice and oatmeal. If you left hungry it was your fault! :) Elizabeth made us feel very welcome and at home.

  • The bakers loft was clean and nicely set up! The breakfast they brought up was very tasty.... Wished we were there for pizza night.. I heard it's really good! Heads up about the area... There's no cell signal so prepare to "unplug" during your stay. We were dealing with some business back home so that made it a bit difficult. Other than that it's a great area!

  • I have been a host for over 80 AirBnb guests, however this was my FIRST AirBnb experience as a guest (and my beau's) and it could not have been better! I booked this just a few days in advance, and Mark and his wife were very communicative, polite and kind. They are not only talented swing dancers and loving parents, but also and own and operate a B&B and local bakery which serves delicious fresh roasted fair trade coffee and the most scrumptious pastries (Apricot Coconut Bar and Brownies were 2 of our faves!) as well as freshly baked breads that are to die for!

Mark's personality and kindness was worth the trip, and his Baker's Loft is clean and tidy and just right for a single guest or a couple. It was a dark and rainy night off-season, and as luck would have it Mark upgraded us to the cottage which was delightful! A wood burning stove, comfy bed, very clean and just right for our romantic getaway. Geyserville has many wineries and scenic vistas. We dined at Applewood for a 4 course gourmet dinner (about 20 minutes away).

Breakfast included that yummy coffee, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and pastries!! He also recommended we drive back to San Francisco along the coast, which was so much more scenic and romantic than getting stuck on the 101 North.

We appreciate the amazing hospitality and can't wait to return to this special spot for another getaway!

About
Twelve years ago my wife and I fell in love with an abandoned restaurant with four tired cottages on three acres of wild blackberries and old growth redwoods on Austin Creek. It has been an exhausting/exhilarating labor of love that has enriched our lives in more ways than we ever imagined. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we have!
