There is something truly magical about staying above a bakery. Mark was so generous to us, and we loved our time in the loft. We had the opportunity to stay on a Friday evening, a big night on site with music, people and great food/drink. Raymond's Bakery is the place to be, and we truly enjoyed amazing food, music, drink and conversation with other guests. In the morning, we were up early and helped Mark load his van full of baked goods to take to the Farmer's Market. How often do you get to do that?! We were rewarded with an incredible loaf of bread! The loft itself is perfect. Everything you need. The area is beautiful. I only hope that I'll one day be able to return for a visit.
If you use Airbnb to meet extraordinary people, then go see Mark. In addition, you will eat home-made breads and pastries and rest in a cosy room in the middle of the forest, close to Bodega Bay and Napa. Worth stopping by longer than the one night we had!
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at at this gem of a place in the California redwoods. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful part of the country, Mark has the perfect spot for you. We checked in early on Friday and were met with a warm welcome and a cold beer. The live music and pizza on Friday night should not be missed! Mark and his wife Elizabeth were the best hosts and very genuinely interested in making our overnight stay comfortable in every way...... including the awesome baked goods from Raymond' s Bakery (named after Mark's dad). Thanks Mark, we will be back!!

Mark and his wife were very accommodating and friendly. We were originally booked into the Baker's Loft but were upgraded to the Creekside Cottage on check-in. Mark provided delicious breakfasts and coffee on both mornings with a wide selection of pastries, fruit, and cereal. The cabin was cozy and the neighborhood was very quiet and pleasant.
What a unique place! Elizabeth took great care of us, including lighting a fire in the fire pit for s'mores and a glass of wine with fresh seeded sourdough upon our arrival. The breakfast was fantastic! Waaaaay too much good food; it ended up being our lunch as well. The loft room was kind of dark (owing to being nestled among redwoods) so we didn't spend much time inside. Also, not much going on in Cazadero specifically, but the location is close via car to the coast, Armstrong Redwoods, and Geurneville. Overall, a fun place! I would definitely try to make it on a Friday night to be part of the pizza and live music, which our fellow guests said was a blast.
My boyfriend and I so enjoyed getting off the beaten path in Cazadero at the Baker's Loft. We arrived on a Friday night and enjoyed live music and pizza that evening. The atmosphere was quite charming. Mark and Elizabeth clearly have a passion for their guests.
The loft was a wonderful. We did hear a bit of rattling in the kitchen below us early in the morning (not too much to keep us awake, by any means) as Mark prepared for the local farmers' markets, and awoke to the delicious smells of fresh baked bread.
We didn't see much of Mark, other than his appearance on the dance floor, but Elizabeth was so kind to us during our stay. Over breakfast, she and the couples' twins sat and mapped out lots of suggestions for our stay. There really was quite a bit to see in the area, lots of history. We enjoyed a hike in Austin Redwoods State Park on Saturday afternoon before moving on to our next destination.
I arrived a little early but it was easy to find mark since he was in the middle of a water fight with the kids. I think he lost since he had just removed his shirt. I got a rooter and drank it as he offered me a free upgrade to a cottage.
I had my heart set on the loft and it was better than described since the view in the backyard was a blooming tree and the front view was redwood forest canopy. The trees on the property are just amazing.
I took my time driving up highway 1 and stopped along the way ay Stinson beach, Pt.
Reyes national Seashore and the Sonoma Coast. I was tired when I got there and really enjoyed the creekside and the atmosphere. It brings out the kid in me.
Since I had just gotten over a cold I opted to just relax, listen to music on earbuds and read. It was a perfect day and a real healing
experience. The property has large trees but enough clearing to get sun, and lots of
plants and flowers. At night it's real quiet with almost no traffic.
The breakfast was timed perfect, with Mark at the door just as I was about to go down. Fresh baked danish in different flavors warm from the oven, hard boiled eggs, great coffee and oatmeal.
What a great place to wake up at with the whole day ahead! Mark is one of the friendliest people I've met and I've met a lot since I work in an hotel. I'll be coming back.

About the Host, Mark
Twelve years ago my wife and I fell in love with an abandoned restaurant with four tired cottages on three acres of wild blackberries and old growth redwoods on Austin Creek. It has been an exhausting/exhilarating labor of love that has enriched our lives in more ways than we ever imagined. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we have!
