Overall Adriana is a good host, punctual and accurate. And apartment though being tiny is comfy enough has a great view from the window - it's even better than the pictures! 14 tram stops three meters from the entrance. Location is quite convenient (shower is a little small as well and because there's just a hole in the floor it floor can be wet for a long time after you took a shower.) In general price and quality was good!
There were some issues to me personally as other guy Matt have mentioned in his review. Which makes you fell uneasy. She is woman and much older than me so I should respect her but it was hard to come in terms with her idea of Perfect Guest. Privacy apart of comfort is something all people need. it was not so bad as it could be.
I don't think that ppl who rent it for just for few days have similar problems, But I lived there for a month. However Thanks!
HOST SNEAKING THROUGH THE APARTMENT WHILE WE'RE GONE. RUDE AND HARASSMENT TOWARDS GUESTS. STOLEN PACKAGES. APARTMENT NOT AS ADVERTISED. AVOID. If you appreciate privacy and enjoying your vacation the way you want to enjoy it, then avoid this person at all costs. The first month of the rental was fine, everything was ok. We got here, got the keys, moved in fine, and everything is going great. Then about a month in I start getting spammed emails from her about why I don't keep in contact and why I don't let her know what I am doing and where I am. The last time I checked this is my vacation, we're traveling frequently and the last thing on my mind is keeping up with emails. You're getting your money and we're staying out of your business, seems simple enough that you can leave us to our travels. So after loads of emails, which I never seen because I wasn't checking my emails, I finally got to see them and responded with a pleasant message of everything is fine and were just enjoying ourselves too much to bother with emails, but rest assured, we and the apartment are doing great. Apparently that wasn't enough for her, and now she's forcing us to meet with her and cater our time around her and her pointless meet ups, and to be perfectly honest I don't have time to meet. I have small side trips every week and 90% of the time we're not in the apartment, I can't cater to your schedule. I'm here to enjoy my vacation. So we have our little meet up and she pretty much harasses us about why we don't keep in contact with her and she scolds us like we're her children. Then she goes on complaining about how the apartment was messy a few days earlier (which happened to be about 4 hours after we just came home from a 5 day camping trip in Germany, needless to say we had to do tons of laundry and yes, the apartment was messy because of that. We had all of our clothes in small piles for laundry and luggage laying around). Here is the big thing though, she came into the apartment without our knowledge, while we weren't home, and snooped around the apartment, completely violating our privacy. It makes me wonder how many other times she snoops in here inspecting our private things without us finding out? Needless to say at this point, I've lost all my sense of privacy throughout the remainder of the trip and I felt like she could be sneaking through our things at anytime we were away, which she knew was often. So during our meeting she hassled us for extra money to clean, claimed we broke her lamp(didn't work from day one, specifically tried turning it on) and hassled us for more money. This is when my vacation turned into a giant mess and soon enough it just made me...
We stayed for seven weeks at Adriana's lovely apartment, and it was absolutely perfect. It is very, very well located for all the main spots in Amsterdam, with nothing more than a short cycle away (with adequate space outside to lock up your bikes when you get back). And the place is equally as good for working from home, which we did regularly, distracted by the view of the windmill, the bustling cafes and bars, and the canal with all manner of water birds. I cannot see how this view could be bettered- it just about crams everything you'd want into one window. By the time we left, the apartment felt very homely, and we were sad to be leaving, and hopeful that we'll return again sometime soon. Adriana is very friendly and helpful, and clearly takes a lot of pride in renting out the apartment. She was always contactable and kept in regular communication throughout booking and during the stay. This apartment comes highly recommended for anyone looking for either short or long stays in Amsterdam for pleasure, business or research- we wouldn't think twice about taking the opportunity to come and stay again. Thanks!
We really enjoyed our time at Adriana's. Wonderful neighbourhood, comfortable apartment with great views, and Adriana was a very kind and helpful host.
