Burlingame is known for its high residential quality of life and is often referred to as the City of Trees. Burlingame has many beautiful stores, restaurants and is a significant vacation spot for people wishing to visit the San Francisco Bay Area.
The city offers quiet stretches to walk amid wetlands dotted with egrets, pelicans and great blue herons, as well as bustling streets lined with stores featuring the latest fashions, designer home furnishings, handcrafted gifts and first-class restaurants.
The Burlingame Trolley provides free transportation to Burlingame’s two major shopping and dining districts: Burlingame Avenue and Broadway. The city is also well connected to San Francisco to the north and Palo Alto and other cities in Silicon Valley to the south via a subway, trains, buses and shuttles. If you’re driving, the city has free and low-cost lots parking.
There are lots of free events in Burlingame, including Sunday afternoon concerts, family movie nights, Shakespeare in the Park, an annual pet parade and arts festivals.
Downtown Burlingame Avenue area, from California Drive to El Camino Real, is the liveliest area, with hundreds of stores and restaurants. This pedestrian-friendly district offers more discoveries on the Avenue's side streets between Howard and Chapin Avenues. This area offers independent emporiums as well as outlets for national chains and designer names.
Broadway, between California Drive and El Camino, offers a quieter shopping experience. This small shopping street, reminiscent of the Fifties, has a variety of restaurants and mom-and-pop stores.

Thanks for another great time Olton. This is our second stay with you and we think the new furniture and lighting you've added is great.
Olton is an awesome people. Very helpful and warm hearted. The apartment is very clean, equipped with all stuff you need, and the location is perfect: tons of restaurants, located at downtown Burlingame, 2 minutes walking distance to public library, 5 minutes walking to caltrain station.
Olton was very helpful, offered to pick me up from SFO, showed me around, and had the place all clean and set up for me.
The place is a full apartment with bedroom, TV, dishes, etc. It's about a 15-minute drive from SFO and Millbrae BART. The walk to the Hyatt/Marriott conference center district is about 30 minutes. Has a nice little downtown area with shopping and two bus stops within a five-minute walk.
Was very happy with my stay.
I was about 20 mnutes late thanks to traffic and Olton was super understanding.
The place was clean and comfortable and he has a great info sheet with local restaurants, wifi password, and general info.
A nice touch was he left fruit and madelines on the counter for breakfast, and the kitchen was nicely stocked with all the basic utensils, spices and condiments.
I really enjoyed my stay at this apartment. Olton made sure I felt very welcome on my arrival and was very accommodating with the check in time.
Burlingame itself is a beautifully peaceful community - I saw squirrels running around on a couple of mornings. The apartment is only a quick 5 minute walk from the main street and about the same to the Caltrain station.
I would happily stay here again!
Olton is a great host, very flexible with our schedule, prepared us welcome breakfast and fruit. His apartment is very close the the downtown area, very continent for shopping and dinning, it was a great experience!
Olton's place was a great place to spend a week. Very neat and clean and equipped with everything we needed. It is very conveniently located, just two blocks walking from Burlingame Ave which has tons of restaurants and shops, yet equipped with plenty of street parking outside. (We were able to find a spot within 30 yards of the building every time, and although the longer term spots are metered, you can put in coins for the whole day in the morning - $2.40 per day was the total.) Olton himself is very friendly and was flexible in accommodating our arrival and departure times. Overall, the place worked out great for us.
Great place, futon plus bed for two people. Olton provided enough breakfast options for a half a dozen. Excellent host. Am here every couple months, will look Olton up again next time I'm in town.
Location is great, walking distance to Burlingame Ave with tonnes of shops and restaurants. Good compromise location with a bit of a palo alto feel at a fraction of the price, and closer to SF.
Olton is the perfect host you can hope for.I booked his apartment only 5 hours before checkin ,on an airplane over Pacific. And he got everything ready when I got there in the morning.
He is this kind of person that you know you can trust instantly, For the next few days he made sure everything was ready for me.The place is awesome, not far from downtown Burlingame, and yet very quiet. And this kick ass library is just 2 minutes walk away.
Olton is ok when I had to change arrangement to check out a few days earlier and he even drove me to my next place.
all in all, 100% recommend
The location was very relaxing and a few steps to Burlingame downtown area. There are plenty of free parking outside on weekdays. Last but not least, Olton is very friendly and accommodating, showed me where everything is located in the apartment before he left. I would definitely recommend his place.
Just my opinion, the bathroom heater light is awesome.
