Thanks so much to Sue and Leon (and also thanks to Tyson and Nova, their cute and very friendly puppies!). We could not have had a warmer welcome in Santa Clara.
We really enjoyed our stay (2 nights in march), the casita (very clean, comfortable and with a basket with fresh fruits and snacks, a fridge with cold water and milk and a coffee maker), the pool, and the huge garden.
We highly recommend this place if you go to Santa Clara. Sue and Leon were awesome hosts! They made us feel more than welcome and gave us a home away from home...
The reservation was canceled 12 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Sue and Leon were the most lovely hosts, and our stay with them was really exceeding everything we could expect.
The casita is very tastefully furnished, very clean, all devices work, and there is everything you need to feel good, and more.
You live there in a lush garden, the pool is always ready, breakfast is delicious and abundant, and Sue and Leon do everything to make you feel welcome. We got very interesting and useful information about Panama and living in Panama.
To stay with them was paradise, for body and mind and soul.
The casita is charming, clean, neat and with all you need. Sue and Leon thank you for being such a great host!. The breakfast was delicious, I highly recommend the pancakes. The dogs are very friendly and never bother us. The place is near nice Restaurants, beach, El Valle. What I most like was the welcome basket, all the recommendations for Restaurant, how easily we could talk and for the host understand our necessities. Quick response, very attentive and strongly recommend to couples. I hope to be back soon. :) Thank you! P.S: This place is wonderful, Please book here, :)
We had a spectacular time at the Santa Clara B&B. The guest casita was large with a lovely bathroom, mini frig, outdoor patio, and nicely furnished. We had access to a lovely pool and lovely adjacent deck. It was the hosts Sue and Leon who really made our stay great! The breakfasts were superb and made to order - whatever we wanted!!
Location is close (five min via car) to a beautiful white sand beach.
The hosts provided great recommendations for sight seeing, restaurants, and very helpful 'insider' perspectives related to life in the Coronado area of Panama.
If you're looking to visit Santa Clara and relax at the amazing beach (white sand, practically deserted during the week and beautiful weather), look no further than Sue and Leon. Their casita was very well appointed, with snacks we took to the beach as well as a mini fridge, and includes a beautiful bathroom and very comfortable mattress. There is AC as well if you need a break from the climate.
But the real selling point here are your hosts, who made us feel right at home. After long days at the beach, we enjoyed taking a dip in the pool and relaxing with Sue and Leon on the terraza, where there is also wireless internet access. Mornings included a delicious breakfast and conversation, which you should definitely take advantage of. Words can't properly communicate how grateful we were for their hospitality. If we or anyone we know is headed to Santa Clara in the future, we know where we'll be staying. Thanks again, Dyklers!
PS: Their puppies are sweethearts and were yet another highlight of our stay!
We visited Sue and Leon's casita recently and found it hard to leave. The casita was perfect in every way, from the snack basket to the coffee pot and little fridge, our every need was met. Each morning we were treated to a wonderful breakfast, always beginning with a platter of the delicious local fruits. The beach is an easy a mile walk away with several restaurants there to enjoy, but with a stunning pool next to the casita, we were happy to just stay there. There are many sites nearby to visit - El Valle and La PIntada ( think Panama hats) just to name a few. We will always remember Sue and Leon's warmth and hospitality as a highlight of our trip to Panama.
We had a great stay with Sue and Leon. They made us feel like houseguests instead of regular guests. They welcomed us with a snack and a drink and every morning a big breakfast was served with smiles and relaxed conversations. They also were a great help with our rental car, which broke down. The casita is cosy and clean, great bed and beautiful large bathroom. We also appreciated the basket with snacks and fridge with water and milk. And all that in a lush garden.
The dogs are very friendly as well, greeting us every time we got back from the beach or trips. The beach is wide and beautiful.
In all a great place for relaxing! We would definitely stay with them again if we come back to the area.
The casita was very nice and Leon and Sue were very friendly. I booked our stay for 2/24-26. I got the days mixed up and they were even willing to receive us on 2/23 before I caught my mistake. Leon promptly picked us up from near the bus stop at around 3pm on 2/24 and dropped us back off the following day at around 5pm. We had no intention of spending the night on 2/25, but booked the room according to check-in/out times so that we could shower and relax after walking from the beach prior to catching our 2am flight on 2/26. The only problem arose when we returned from the beach on 2/25 and there was no electricity. In Panama, this means no running water either. They were very apologetic, although this was in no way their fault as the power outages were widespread. The wi-fi didn't work while we were there either. With that being said, booking a second day became pointless as we washed off the best we could and left soon after. Leon sensed my frustration and I let him know at that time what our expectations were when booking. Neither my boyfriend or I are confrontational, so we waited for him to offer some sort of compensation for there being no electricity or water, but it didn't happen. We didn't bother asking, because we weren't sure of Airbnb's exact policy and figured that if our hosts felt obligated, they would have gestured. The casita itself was comfy and well appointed. All in all, it was a positive experience. P.S. Do not book here if you aren't comfortable with dogs as they aren't allowed in the casita, but are there to greet you as you come and go. They're friendly, but can be overwhelming.
Leon and Sue are a lovely couple and delightful hosts who made us feel very much at home in their lovely Casita. On arrival there was a basket full of fruit, cereal, biscuits and cakes etc in the Casita which we thought was breakfast but we were also treated to a daily cooked breakfast on their patio with fruit juice, fresh fruit and wonderful coffee. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and we were given the run of the grounds and swimming pool. At the start of our stay with Leon and Sue they were hosts but at the end of our short stay they had become our friends.
