We have enjoyed a week in SEN's apartment beginning New Year's Eve , and the result has been very positive. The house was located in Quens Sunny, just near a Metro line (line 7) station, that permitted us to be in the middle of the Big Apple in half an hour. Trains go running 24hours. No problem to arrive late as the area of the station and the walking to the apartment are filled with restaurants , cafes and supermarkets.
The apartment is not new but is enough to be here for a week . having low temperatures during our journey , the heating inside was very good , in some caseswe must open windows to regulate it.
SEN , the owner, has been a very good guide for us informing about all our answers of the city and giving us practical info.
¡A good week in New York !
Sen is a very good host. He told us all that we need to know about the city. Moreover, he has subway and bus maps, and city guides.
The apartment is very comfortable for 4 people and it is very well located, just 2 or 3 blocks from the subway. The subway takes approximately 15 minutes to arrive in Manhattan.
I truly recommend the apartment.
Sen's apartment is fantastic. Allow me to tell you all about my experience!
As a host, Sen is spectacular. He is very efficient and effective with communication and is there 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns you might have. He is not just there to make sure the apartment is working….he also wants to make sure you are having a good time enjoying the city, too!
The location of Sen's place is also top notch. It is literally a hop, skip, and jump away from the nearest 7 Metro Line. Furthermore, within a very short walking radius there is a 24 hour grocery store, a Starbucks, a Dunkin' Donuts, and a Walgreens. Along with countless restaurants! What more could you ask for? I was traveling around town at all hours during the day and felt very safe and comfortable. Good neighborhood!
The actual apartment itself is delightful. The kitchen is small but has a full-size fridge and stove for you to use. Sen also provides dish essentials like plates, cups, etc. to make the stay more pleasant. The living room is surprisingly large with a great desk for an impromptu work (website hidden) is nice and has cable. Bathroom is tiny but completely manageable. The bedroom is also lovely. My only real "complaint" was that his master bed was a bit too firm for my tastes…but that's JUST me! Luckily, he has a second, smaller bed in the room that's extremely comfortable. This is why Sen's place is so great! Options for everyone's tastes!
If you are debating renting a room from Sen, don't delay. Book your trip today and you will not regret it. The place is great, the neighborhood is spectacular (especially for tourists), and Sen is a top-notch class act.
I know I'll be returning on my next NYC visit!
Sen made us very welcome and was very helpful in giving us directions to cross New York city as we arrived by car from the south the day of the New York marathon.
The day we left he organised the taxi and everything was timely and spot on.
The apartment is in an old building not far from an elevated metroline.
The apartment is spacious but the shower/bath can be awkward for old people.
Everything went very smoothly and we had a great time. Sen was a pleasure to deal with. He met us on time, made sure we were set up comfortably in the apartment, explained the common-sense house rules and the quirks of the building, and did it all with a very friendly and accommodating disposition. While we had the whole apartment to ourselves, Sen was always a short distance away, reachable by phone, and swift to respond to the few requests we did have. He's obviously quite a busy and hard-working guy, but never made us feel like he was in a rush or that he didn't have time for us. In short, a very thoughtful and effective host that I can recommend without reservation.
I don't want to tell you how great Sunnyside is because I'd like it to remain the last secret gem of a neighborhood in NYC. But OK I will: it's a wonderful neighborhood with just the right amount of gentrification: cool shops, great restaurants, and funky cafes and wine bars, with enough hipster presence to make you feel like you're somewhere, but not enough to make it nauseating. Queens is still Queens, where the real people live. Sunnyside is "skyline Queens" where the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building are always right there to remind you where you are, and the 7 train runs right through the neighborhood and gets you into the heart of Manhattan in less than 15 minutes.
Sen was a super host -- very accommodating and clear, and went out of his way to be helpful to us. The apartment is clean and comfortable and the location is great - Sunnyside is a sweet neighborhood, the 7 train is a few blocks away, and the food on Queens Boulevard is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this rental if you're looking for a good private space that won't break your budget and will introduce you to the magic of Queens.

Hello, I was formerly a philosophy and political science student with an interest in public service and policy. I currently manage a warehouse in Long Island City while I go back to school to earn an MBA in Healthcare Administration.
I coordinate with various renters in the area to share any extra space they might have to anyone that is interested in visiting, working, staying in the city, or even fellow New Yorkers that just need a place to relax while their relatives take up their own apartments.
I have had the privilege to have grown up, studied, and worked in and around New York City my entire life and thus, have intimate knowledge of this neighborhood and the Metropolitan area. I am quite fond of my hometown and would love the chance to share it with the rest of you!
