The space

My house is in the center on Madrid, rigth at Malasaña area, the modern and trendiest district in Madrid. The house is located in a very quiet street, being great located parallel to the main street, but nice and calm in the nights, when pubs and restaurants all around the area are opened until late.
Its a great neighborhood for shopping vintage and fashion clothes and having lots of fun at cafes and terraces.
The apartment is big (100m2), faced to the street at the living room with two balconies, the rooms are located right after the living room, one to the left and the other to the right.
The apartment's living room is bright and spacious, divided in two areas, one for chilling and the other one for dinning.
The kitchen is fully equipped with all the facilities (fridge, oven, microwave, washing-dryer machine, toaster, ketle, iron, etc).
A 20€ cleanning fee will be charged at the comming-in, in cash, (since reservations made from 27th of May 2013).

Other things to note

Normally im very flexible with check ins and check outs, and if i don't have any reservation i don't mind the time you will be arriving or leaving. But if i have one reservation the preference until 12pm is for the guest that have spent the night at the apartment, and after that time is for the new arrivers. I hope you can understand.

I had a long-term stay so what I add may not be applicable for short-term stays. Pros: The apartment is close to several metros and there are plenty of good restaurants and bars located very close. The apartment is relatively quiet at night. Cons: The furniture is old and uncomfortable. For example, I had to use pillows to sit on the couch because the cushions are are so worn out. Since it was a long-term stay for work, I worked in the apartment during the day often. The streets are very noisy during the day because of dogs and cars. Many people in the area have dogs. I like dogs but the situation leads to a lot of dog barking during the day as the dogs bark at people or other dogs passing by. The street is also a secondary street used by many drivers who want to avoid the main street (Calle de Pez). This leads to a lot of noise from vespas and bikes during the day. All in all, I could see the apartment being fine for a short stay but I would not recommend it for a long-stay, especially if you plan to try and work during the day at the apartment.

This was my wife's and my first visit to Madrid. Our grandson was with us and he has been to Madrid numerous times. He was an excellent tour guide. We had a great 3 day weekend as the final leg of our 3 week visit to Spain. Laura met us at the apartment and provided great instructions and suggestions. Apartment decor is dated but we got comfortable with it with time. Location was great, only 10 minute walk to the subway. Lots to do and see in Madrid. Lots of people everywhere! I would probably choose a different apartment if in Madrid again, but I think it is a decent choice for up to 4 people.

It was a lovely apartment, located in a great little part of the city. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars very close. A little loud at night but other than that the apartment was perfect for our stay.

Great place in an awesome neighborhood. Central to everything - we walked everywhere. We would stay here again without a doubt.

This is the most lovely and charming apartment you can find. Artsy decor, relaxing, airy....I loved the residential streets of Malasana, tons of resturants and bars frequent by locals. A wonderful escape from the tourist crowds, still a quick taxi ride to the center. Staying in this apartment made our trip to Madrid very special. Thank you, Laura and Mara, you are such gracious hosts!

We couldn't have had a better stay! The apartment is super spacious, sunlit, and adorably decorated. It had every convenience we could have wanted: hair dryer, fully stocked kitchen, two sets of keys, etc. and the neighborhood is PERFECT. It felt like a cleaner version of NYC's Lower East Side. Insane vintage shopping. Thank you, Laura!!

Our second stay at Laura's and equally as fun as the first. This is a great location in a quiet street close to some very hip cafes. Do try the Ferrari cafe at the corner... wonderful couple runs it and the food is great. Also for scrambled eggs and bacon go to Fidel cafe another block up. Just delicious.

Im 35 years old. I have been sharing my apartment for the last 10 years with all kind of different people, so i consider myself a good host. Now i do it in different apartments, but i try to help each guests to make the best of their experience.
I like watching movies the most in the world!. Its my hobby and also part of my job, because I do costumes for movies. I have a room at my place where i have my workshop, in where i make sewing projects, jewelry or restoring old furniture. For fun and to make a living.
I also like to spend a lot of time with my dog, she always comes everywhere with me, everywhere i go. She is well educated, obedient and loving.
I like traveling, and visiting friends all over the world.
