The space
After a beautiful hill country drive, use the huge circular drive to pull in & park. Enter your creekside retreat through the main gate at the blue two-story log cabin-style home. Notice the large fenced area on the right that invites you to explore nature and escape the worries of the world, as you step up onto the covered patio. We have taken great care to try to ensure that our guests have a wonderful, special experience.
Upon entering the home, immediately see the inviting combined living space. Gorgeous granite countertops, stained concrete floors, and clean white cabinetry bring a modern feel to the otherwise warm, country vibe.
You will find the downstairs kitchen generously stocked with the items you need for preparing/serving almost any meal you desire...spices, oils, pots, pans, baking/serving dishes, glasses/cups, flatware, BBQ tools, stainless steel appliances, etc. There is a Keurig machine/mugs, with an assortment of coffees/teas/sweeteners/creamers available for your enjoyment. The kitchen appliances and countertops border a gigantic granite island, where you can serve food and/or sit on 6 counter-height cushioned barstools with backs.
Gather in the living room, where you will find comfy rockers, a large reclining leather sofa (buttons inside the arms toward the front), a modern chair, and a couple of benches. You might want to play the piano (recorded Steinway sound, with adjustable volume and resonance) or watch a show on the big screen TV (Roku available for signing into your streaming subscriptions).
Straight ahead, you’ll find a rustic wood dining table where guests love to share meals, laughter, and an assortment of games (found in the bathroom linen closet).
The downstairs bathroom has plenty of towels, as well as waterproof “mattress covers” for any downstairs outdoor furniture that is damp from rain. Full-sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash can be found in the River rock-accented shower (no tub).
Just past the dining room and bathroom, you’ll find the two downstairs bedrooms, one with a queen mattress and the other with a king mattress. The bedrooms are both decorated in unique styles, one more modern and one more traditional.
The upstairs treetop hideaway is accessed separately by going up the exterior stairs. At the top of the stairs, go forward onto the balcony for a bird’s eye view of the creek. Enjoy a beverage and a lovely sunset over the roof of the home. Facing the fire pit, you can watch the sun (and often the moon) rise.
Inside, you’ll find a sitting area with a cozy sofa, a futon (full bedding available upon request), and a bistro table with two dining chairs. There are breakfast trays and a card table in the bedroom closet for your use. Don’t miss the glory of the treetops, as well as the beautiful stained glass accents in this area. The entire upstairs is decorated in warm tones and has an eclectic atmosphere of country meets Africa.
In the upstairs kitchen, you will find the basics that you need for cooking/serving meals...oil, salt & pepper, pots/pans, baking/serving dishes, etc. Many of the dishes and the silverware are vintage/antique treasures we found at Wimberley Marketdays booths. You will have a stovetop, single oven, full refrigerator, toaster, microwave, and a Keurig machine/mugs. Help yourself to an assortment of coffees/teas/sweeteners/creamers.
Straight ahead, you’ll find an adorable bathroom with saltillo tile floors, a toilet, sink and tub/shower combo (with a detachable head). Full-sized shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and plenty of towels are provided for your use.
On the back left, you can enter the upstairs bedroom with a comfy queen bed, where partial walls provide privacy, but also allow the light to pour into the space. Don't miss the stained glass accent art (refurbished by a local artisan) between the living area and bedroom.
This is such a fabulous home and we hope you love it as much as we do! Our friends and family have referred to this property as magical, healing, special…a paradise..a shangri-la.
Guest access
You will have access to the entire home, minus a section we shut off for when we are staying there. You will be the only guests staying in the home or on the property. The rental area begins in the little side yard by the water tank and ends at the far side of the fenced yard. The shed, office trailer, trampoline, and driveway past this area is off limits. Please please do not go into the creek beds or cross them, as this would create a trespassing concern.
Other things to note
Some things that are really important for you to know:
~This is one home, with two separate entries to a 2/1 area with a patio downstairs and a 1/1 area with a balcony upstairs. They both have living areas and kitchens. You’ll have access to all of this while you’re here.
~Most of the large yard area is well fenced, but at the patio, there is a drop to the creek. In this portion (about a 40 foot stretch), there is minimal fencing at the creek edge to allow a more enjoyable view. There are also several gates for property and creek access. Gates can get left open. Therefore, ANY CHILDREN OR NON-SWIMMERS SHOULD BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES. Your safety is of utmost importance to us.
