Ms. Macsplace is cared for by our long-serving staff member Natalue Blackmon. Natalue is the overall caretaker and gardener of the property and is on duty through out your stay. Upon your request he will be happy to assist you with any needed household items, cleanups which includes dishes and yard work. When you leave, please consider offering a small gratuity to him as a gesture of appreciation for the work that makes your stay at Ms.Macsplace a safe and comfortable place to stay.
Caring of the wooden floor is of utmost importance. Most of the areas are covered with wood-flooring and it is imperative that absolutely no spilling of water or liquids should linger on the floor for any length of time. A prompt cleanup is expected and careful consideration to the property when handling your beverages. Any water damage on the floor will be at the renter's expense as will other damages that may occur on the property. Aside from beverages that can spill and damage the floors, please take note that windows should not be left open when leaving the premises as rain can also be hazardous when blown through the windows by our trade winds coming off of the nearby ocean.
We were a group of two volcanologists that had to study all the volcanoes on the island. So, we needed a stay from where we can reach the whole island easily. This house is very well positioned to discover the island of St. Kitts. Cayon is a real village. Here, there is no hotels or cruise ships full of tourists but real people. The house is spacious, the kitchen is very well equipped. Eartha and Talue who welcomed us are lovely, very helpful and always there for us to solve our requests.
We had a group of 4 researchers stay in Ms. Mac's place for several nights while they were surveying St. Kitts. The on-island contact was very helpful, and the house was in a perfect location. Donald, Ingrid's son, was very easy to communicate with, which was especially great because I was planning the trip as a third party all the way from VT, USA.
About the Host, Ingrid
Born in St.Kitts, I've moved to New York and have lived here for over 30 years. I was a teacher and Nanny by profession and enjoy cooking and being a homemaker. I took great delight in the renovation of my house in St.Kitts and find it a warm and cozy place. Each year i add amenities to the property such as this years additions, air conditioner and a flat screen television.
If I'm in the area when a guest is present, it would be my desire to prepare a sumptious meal if requested. I am an avid fan of the Food Network and enjoy preparing meals such as Salmon Mousse with a delightful sauce and spaghetti that is "al dente", tender to the bite. I have traveled to Europe on a number of occasions, the most recent were to France, Switzerland and Italy this past summer.
It would be my pleasure to have you as my guest and would do my utmost to accommodate you at Ms.Macsplace.
