Here are some reviews from our satisfied guests!

"Your `ohi`a/fern forest is a Garden of Eden." -- guest from Honolulu

"`Apapane Lodge is beautiful and unique." -- guest from Virginia

"Ferns & ohia out every window! This place is wonderful. Now with the falling rain, the cedar smell fills the room and a foggy mist makes the famed exterior sublime."

“Absolutely gorgeous rainforest setting, lovely back garden that was a pleasure to stand and take in. Incredible location (be careful to follow the directions that the owner sends, to the letter). Perfect for exploring Hawaii Volcano National Park and we also found it to be a nice halfway point to return to from trips up to Kona in the west and Mauna Kea via Hilo in the east. Very comfortable furnishings and bedding, and the fire place was greatly enjoyed after long drives and cooler days. All information needed for a relaxing and peaceful stay was given on booking and we didn't see (or need to see) any owner or manager at all in order to have a hassle-free visit. The house has all the amenities you could need and more than enough room for our party of four adults to spread out.”- Sarah from Australia

  • Apapane Lodge was easy to find, in the perfect location for sightseeing but also quiet and peaceful. We very much enjoyed our stay and when next we have visitors we will be back.

It is clean, comfortable and pleasant. You should stay here.

  • It was a quick last minute stay because we were so sick and tired of driving back and forth from Kona to Hilo. The home was just as advertised and wonderful to stay in. Merlenna was a great hostesses and easy to get a hold of especially considering we booked it the night before!
