Our friend Nick is our on site host. He lives in a bedroom on the upper floor. He is almost always around on weekends and weeknights to answer any questions you may have about the neighborhood and Baltimore.
Hampden is a great Baltimore neighborhood with a lot of character. Walking distance to unique shops, great restaurants, and a variety of bars. Very safe to walk around even at night
Street parking is always available either in front of the house or directly across the street. Close to JHU. 7 minute walk to Light Rail( 15 minute ride downtown to sports stadiums, convention center, inner harbor; 40 minutes to BWI Airport and 10 minutes to Penn Station)
If you need additional space, we also have a bedroom available upstairs with a queen bed that can accommodate 2 additional guests. Check out my other listings.
I love the Hampden area and this place was a great location with lovely open common areas. The room itself was clean and comfortable, though it doesn't feel super private--the narrow side of the glass paneled double door did not have a curtain and the laundry alcove was outside the room. But overall I was very happy with the place and our welcome, and I shouldn't complain at all--it is well priced. Just thought I'd mention it for people planning a romantic trip (hubba hubba.)
very cute place. had a nice stay despite the very cold weather! didn't get to know much about the neighborhood until it was close to departure date, but found it to be a very cool, artsy town. the walk up from lightrail was a bit daunting, but i'm sure it is much nicer in summer months.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was a great one. Things were just as Carolyn had advertised.
And Nick, who is on site, was friendly and helpful.
I would echo what a few other reviewers said -- you may want to bring earplugs if you like to sleep in. I could hear footsteps and muffled voices upstairs when others were awake and in the kitchen. But once I put my earplugs in, problem solved: I slept like a baby.
Great experience. Carolyn replied only 30 min after my e-mail ! "Very Fast". Clean house, comfy bed & most importantly : WONDERFUL Nick (Property manager) ... Many Thanks
Another awesome experience with Airbnb at Carolyn's place. This time I had the chance to interact with Nick who manages the place and facilitated my cab ride going home. The place has a quiet, peaceful and artistic ambiance. I would love to keep coming back.
Carolyn is an outstanding host. I needed a place to stay while doing some research at Johns Hopkins and Carolyn went out of her way to accommodate my schedule and make me feel welcome. The location in Hampden is really convenient for getting around on the light rail and there is plenty of delicious food and things to do within a five minute walk of the place, too. It's a quiet spot with a comfy room and a lot of space. If I am back to do more research in Baltimore I will definitely stay here again.
Had a great stay. Slept like a baby. Would def use as my crash pad next time I'm in Baltimore.
Clean, easy, sweet!
Great room in a fantastic neighborhood.
