About this listing
Welcome to our Central Square Apartment, right in the heart of downtown Cambridge! Steps away from the Red Line, we are located right in between Harvard and MIT!
Our Second Floor walk up is a studio apartment with King sized bed, full sized futon couch and sun filled atrium complete with hammock. It has a full bath and a well stocked kitchen. A former seamstress's shop in the seventies, it has floor to ceiling mirrors that gives the space an even larger feel. It still retains some of that funky seventies charm.
Though right in the heart of downtown Cambridge, the apartment is set back from the street so it is surprisingly quiet. An oasis from the city sounds, the apartment shares the 4 story building with office space so evenings are very quiet and private. The Green Street parking garage is located across the street and charges $13 a day. Pearl Street laundromat is two blocks away.
Central Square is the hub of Cambridge. Right out the front door you are greeted by a Tibetan restaurant and a Thai restaurant. Turn right and you look right at Central Kitchen, a Cambridge institution. An organically focused grocery store is mere steps away, as are numerous pubs, two liquor stores, live theater, music clubs and other nightlife. When the city gets too hectic, retreat to the plant filled atrium and take a nap in the hammock.
Enjoy your stay! Since we share the building with offices, please be mindful during business hours. Please no smoking.
I spent most of my adult life traveling around the globe from my home base in Portland,Oregon... sometimes staying in people's house, sometimes just a hammock between two trees. I am currently indoctrinating my son to like these things so we can hit the road when he gets a wee bit older. My last trip was across India by bicycle. Good fun if you get the chance!
Since I've been in Cambridge, I've learned things that would be not possible while traveling, learning the guitar, making beer, perfecting my jerk chicken burritos...and I've grown to love this town...lively music scene, and the biking is getting better and better!
