See Yourself in Central Square

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Pearl St, Cambridge, MA 02139, United States

The Space

Welcome to our Central Square Apartment, right in the heart of downtown Cambridge! Steps away from the Red Line, we are located right in between Harvard and MIT!

Our Second Floor walk up is a studio apartment with King sized bed, full sized futon couch and sun filled atrium complete with hammock. It has a full bath and a well stocked kitchen. A former seamstress's shop in the seventies, it has floor to ceiling mirrors that gives the space an even larger feel. It still retains some of that funky seventies charm.

Though right in the heart of downtown Cambridge, the apartment is set back from the street so it is surprisingly quiet. An oasis from the city sounds, the apartment shares the 4 story building with office space so evenings are very quiet and private. The Green Street parking garage is located across the street and charges $13 a day. Pearl Street laundromat is two blocks away.

Central Square is the hub of Cambridge. Right out the front door you are greeted by a Tibetan restaurant and a Thai restaurant. Turn right and you look right at Central Kitchen, a Cambridge institution. An organically focused grocery store is mere steps away, as are numerous pubs, two liquor stores, live theater, music clubs and other nightlife. When the city gets too hectic, retreat to the plant filled atrium and take a nap in the hammock.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The apartment is cozy and comfortable with all the amenities one needs for a short term stay. The touch of available coffee and tea, a fruit basket, Wi-Fi, fresh flowers and Charlie card for the T all added to the overall experience. The Center Square location on the Red Line is great, 1/2 hr to/from the airport with a simple transfer to the Silver bus at South station. We'd stay there again.

  • I was staying for two months. Greg is friendly host who can even easily accommodate my small special requests. Highly recommended and would stay again.

  • This is a great place to stay if your looking for two beds and/or a kitchen. The futon bed was very comfy, the kitchen was lovely, and the location is right near a subway stop. Greg was an awesome host! You won't be disappointed.

  • The perfect place to stay in Cambridge! The apartment is right off of Mass. Ave, which has tons of bars, restaurants, a T stop, pharmacies and more. Greg had clear instructions for how to get into the apt, left two sets of keys, and had fruit, flowers, and a Charlie card (for riding the T) waiting for us. It was clean and well stocked with basics like soap and sheets, and just the right size for two. It is a studio, but you could probably fit 1-2 more on the pull-out futon if you wanted. There was also a shelf full of books, tv, teas, pots and pans, toys for kids...I can't imagine what else one would look for in a place to stay that wasn't part of this package. I also liked that the host lived nearby and could be there to help, but gave us our space and privacy. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and would stay here again!

  • My parents had a very nice stay in Central Square. The apartment was very well-equipped and well-presented, and the location really was perfect for them. Greg was very good about meeting them at night when they got in. The only hiccup was that the television stopped working a little over a week before departure and went unrepaired for the remainder of their stay. Otherwise it was a very good experience and they said they would certainly stay there again.

  • We loved staying at Greg's apartment!
Great location, a 10 min ride on the T to downtown Boston and with lots of cafes, restaurants and shops around.

The apartment was spotless and Greg really makes you feel welcome: we found a pre-loaded charlie card for the T, fresh coffee beans, and great organic fruit.

Definitely coming here for our next Boston visit!

  • A wonderful place to stay. Right around the corner is the subway that takes you into downtown Boston in about 15 mins. Parking garage right round the corner, and the neighbourhood is funky and fun - great shopping and restaurants everywhere. The Thai restaurant right next door was the best Thai I've had. Greg was a great communicator, witty and helpful. I would definitely recommend Greg's place.

  • Just several days after the trip to Boston, I've already missed Greg's apartment, a nice and clean place with almost every detail having been taken care of which always makes you feel like at home during the stay. It's well-located, family-friendly, sufficiently-equipped as claimed, and really beautiful. We didn't meet Greg in person but could sense his thoughtfulness in trying to make every guest comfortable in this place. My whole family enjoyed the stay and highly recommend this apartment to those seeking a convenient and comfortable place in the trip to Cambridge and Boston.

I spent most of my adult life traveling around the globe from my home base in Portland,Oregon... sometimes staying in people's house, sometimes just a hammock between two trees. I am currently indoctrinating my son to like these things so we can hit the road when he gets a wee bit older. My last trip was across India by bicycle. Good fun if you get the chance! Since I've been in Cambridge, I've learned things that would be not possible while traveling, learning the guitar, making beer, perfecting my jerk chicken burritos...and I've grown to love this town...lively music scene, and the biking is getting better and better!
