About This Listing
Welcome to our Central Square Apartment, right in the heart of downtown Cambridge! Steps away from the Red Line, we are located right in between Harvard and MIT!
Our Second Floor walk up is a studio apartment with King sized bed, full sized futon couch and sun filled atrium complete with hammock. It has a full bath and a well stocked kitchen. A former seamstress's shop in the seventies, it has floor to ceiling mirrors that gives the space an even larger feel. It still retains some of that funky seventies charm.
Though right in the heart of downtown Cambridge, the apartment is set back from the street so it is surprisingly quiet. An oasis from the city sounds, the apartment shares the 4 story building with office space so evenings are very quiet and private. The Green Street parking garage is located across the street and charges $13 a day. Pearl Street laundromat is two blocks away.
Central Square is the hub of Cambridge. Right out the front door you are greeted by a Tibetan restaurant and a Thai restaurant. Turn right and you look right at Central Kitchen, a Cambridge institution. An organically focused grocery store is mere steps away, as are numerous pubs, two liquor stores, live theater, music clubs and other nightlife. When the city gets too hectic, retreat to the plant filled atrium and take a nap in the hammock.
Enjoy your stay! Since we share the building with offices, please be mindful during business hours. Please no smoking.
Greg's place is very cozy, extremely well located and very quiet. A perfect place for two or three people to get to know Cambridge and surroundings. Greg was very kind and helpful every time we needed him. The apartment has everything you would need to feel at home!
Greg was available and very helpful. The description was accurate and the apartment was perfect, very homey. The apartment is right in Central Square and very close to MIT which is why we went to Boston. The T was not even a block away as well as many conveniences. Will definitely try to stay here again when I go back up next summer.
Greg's place was awesome! Super convenient, great bars and restaurants basically right out the door, yet tucked away off the main strip so it was reasonably quiet as well. Check in was super convenient and Greg was very proactive and responsive. My new favorite place to stay in Cambridge
Our stay at Greg's place was wonderful. The apartment's location is perfect - in Central Square, so close to the T and bus stations, and a walking distance to MIT. The place was clean, tidy, and cozy, we even had fresh flowers welcoming us. Everything was well organized. We didn't see Greg but the instructions he left us were clear, and we've found our way with no problems.
My stay at Gregs apartment was my first airbnb experience. It was a great experience. We arrived late and is was very easy to find the apartment thanks to the detailed description. It was convenient that the keys where there in a locker, so we did not have to meet. In the apartment there were flowers and fresh fruits, which was a nice welcome. The apartment is very nice and special. I was there with my son and my mother. Although everything is in one room, there is enough space. The kitchen is bigger than in the pictures. Greg is very helpful and generous. He always answered my emails very quickly and as the coffee brewer broke down during our stay, he replaced it within no time. A further advantage is the location of the apartment. It is located right at central square, where you find many restaurant and shops and a station of the redline. Although it is in the central of cambridge it is very quite with the window away from the streets. I really can recommend it and definitely would come again.
I had a pleasant stay at Greg's place. The flat is as described in the listing and in a nice location in Cambridge, a 1-minute walk from the Central Station T stop. You can easily walk in 20 minutes or less to both Harvard and MIT.
The flat is well kept and generally clean, if not impeccably so - the odd hair could be spotted here and there in the bathroom when I arrived. All in all, however, a good accommodation which I would most likely use again.

About the Host, Greg
I spent most of my adult life traveling around the globe from my home base in Portland,Oregon... sometimes staying in people's house, sometimes just a hammock between two trees. I am currently indoctrinating my son to like these things so we can hit the road when he gets a wee bit older. My last trip was across India by bicycle. Good fun if you get the chance!
Since I've been in Cambridge, I've learned things that would be not possible while traveling, learning the guitar, making beer, perfecting my jerk chicken burritos...and I've grown to love this town...lively music scene, and the biking is getting better and better!
