  • Ilia was an amazing host. My boyfriend and I could come and go as we pleased and there was cereal and fruit available to us every morning! The location is also invaluably close to anywhere one might like to visit in Toronto. We will absolutely stay there again!

  • I echo all of the positive comments that have been left by other guests! Ilia offered the experience that I was looking for: great location, clean and comfortable accommodations, friendly and casual host, etc. He was especially gracious regarding check-in and check-out times, as well as complete freedom to come and go during the day/evening. Very positive experience. (Thank you, Ilia!)

  • Ilia's space was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Ilia was a very gracious host and also has a lovely cat that made sure that we were cozy during our stay. The close proximity of the best parts of Toronto make Ilia's space our go to place for our next visits to Toronto. We'll be back!

  • We popped into Toronto to catch a John Alcorn concert. The show was on Sunday. We arrived on Fri. evening so we had plenty of time to see the shows at the Art Gallery of Ontario, and stroll around town. Ilia's place is within walking distance to downtown, china town, kensington market, etc., an easy 100 walk score.
The room is nice, and spacious enough to spread your luggage around on the floor, or hang in the nice closet. Wifi was excellent which allowed me to watch the world series games on my laptop and Dish anywhere.

Illia and his partner Hailey were gracious, welcoming and hospitable hosts. They were warm, friendly and attentive, and provided my husband and I with detailed information and suggestions about area attractions.

Their home is clean, comfortable, cozy and serene. It is also in a great location and convenient to many diverse restaurants, cultural activities and shopping. We would definitely stay with them again.

  • The room was as described. I highlight the poor cleaning of the bathroom. Tthis was not done daily. I have not had much contact with the owners, just a few conversations between arrivals and departures

  • Ilia and his partner Hailey were gracious hosts. I was in Toronto to run the Marathon and they made the effort to get up early Sunday morning to make sure I was awake and brewed some fresh coffee to send me on my way. Enjoyed a fantastic weekend, running the marathon and taking in the David Bowie exhibit at the AGO which was a 5 minute walk away! I would definitely stay at their house again. Great location and great people!

  • We went to Toronto for the David Bowie Is exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario. The hotels were so expensive I didn't think we would be able to go! Then I found Ilia's place right across the street from the Gallery and in the heart of Chinatown! We just loved it! The room was large, well appointed, and very comfy - big windows, closet space, fresh towels laid out, lovely bed linens. And I don't know if it was by design, but the stack of eclectic books left by the bed all pertained to our trip! As a bonus, Ilia, as a member of the Gallery, offered us free passes but we had already purchased ours so we had to graciously decline. Will definitely keep that perk in mind for future trips!
The bathrooms were clean and beautifully decorated. We didn't have a chance to enjoy their amazing soaking tub but maybe next time!
Breakfast was simple but fresh and yummy! Great hearty bread, local homemade jams, fresh fruit and a selection of energy-filled cereals from which to choose!
Ilia and his girlfriend were very gracious hosts intent on making our stay the best possible. They gave us great local food recommendations - The Dumpling House is a must! They also gave us extremely helpful information on how to get around the city without our car. We had a great time using the subways and trolley cars! They gave us our own key so we were able to come and go as we pleased. We felt very at home in their lovely house.
We would most definitely stay with them again whenever we are back in Toronto!

  • Ilia's house was great! Super clean and comfortable, even nicer than in the picture. The location was great, next to the Art Gallery of Ontario, which Ilia provided a guest pass- got to see Ai Weiwei exhibit.
Ilia went the extra mile providing French press coffee in the morning along with some seasonal fruit and an assortment of cereals.
Would recommend anyone visiting Toronto to stay here-

    thanks dude!

  • Ilia's home is very comfortable and welcoming. The room is spacious, clean and sun-filled. The bathroom is quite beautiful. Since no one else lives full-time on the floor where the room is located, there is quite a lot of privacy. Ilia and his girlfriend are great hosts, very nice and respectful. Ilia cooks a great breakfast in the morning. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Toronto.

  • Ilia and his girlfriend Hailey are wonderful hosts. They have been very helpful and gave us useful tips about the city. Thanks to Ilias membership at the Art Gallery of Ontario (which is just one block away) we've got free tickets for the exhibition.

The room itself was very nice and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a large desk. As there are two bathrooms you have always access to at least one of them. The whole house is very clean and cozy.

The breakfast was awesome, too. Ilia provided every morning fresh coffee and fruit salad. There were also organic cereals and bread with peanut butter, marmelade and honey. Very tasty!

Ilias home is the perfect location to explore Toronto by foot or by bicycle. A Bixi-Station, where you can rent a bike for 5 CAD a day, is just around the corner. Chinatown and Kensington Market are just a 5-10 minute walk away.

We've enjoyed our stay at Ilia very much. If we ever get back to Toronto we will definetly stay again at his wonderful home. This place gets an A+ from us and is highly recommended!
