Rajni and Shirish went above and beyond. My experience in India was a success, literally, because of them.
Not only were the accommodations charming, clean, and comfortable, Rajni and her staff offered me beautiful local cuisine, three times a day based on my diet. The meals I shared with her and her family were INCREDIBLE. It was a joy to experience local, authentic fare and to have their good company as I learned my way around India as a first timer. Delhi became a familiar city over the course, with fresh Roti and savory Biryanis at each step.
Rajni's home is located in a very convenient and safe area of the city, with quick access to Khan Market and a number of must see tourist locations, such as India Gate. I was especially grateful to be close to Khan however, as it offers a place where I could find a number of comforts I am used to in New York; for example, Coffee Bean.
On top of these ideal accommodations, Rajni and Sharish went out of their way to help me organize a photography assignment that was a critical part of my visit to India. Through their network or friends and colleagues, my hopes for this project became reality. From arranging train tickets to vouching for me to local authorities in Dhanbad, I couldn't have asked for a better production team.
If you have the opportunity to spend some time with Rajni and Shirish during your stay in Delhi, consider yourself lucky and book it! This is what traveling is all about.
My experience at Rajni's residence was very pleasant and comfortable.Rajni and her husband were very caring. They kept in touch before my travel to their place and were out and out to help in every way to make sure that me and my mom were comfortable even in reaching their address.
Their place is located in a beautiful prime central (email hidden)ere are lots of trees all around...the room is very spacious and clean...Rajni was very careful in remembering my being a vegetarian. The meals provided are excellent healthy and are served with lots of love.I was gifted a pack of a particular pickle that I had liked by Rajni.
"Geeta" the maid, is very attentive and always took care of our requirements with a smile and a positive attitude.Even Geeta's son was very helpful... He came to receive us from the Railway Station so that we dont have difficulty finding the address late in the night.
Overall the experience was amazing and I highly recommend their place to anyone who appreciates a serene location and caring hosts.
Rajni was out of town while we stayed at her home, but her maid Geeta was there. We arrived in delhi around 1am, but Rajni was still available to help guide us to her home and help us communicate with the taxi driver. When we arrived Rajni's maid welcomed us as if we lived there. We are most of our meals at home, which were delicious. Even though Rajni was not home, she was always available by phone and was very helpful. We had a prefect stay and truly enjoyed our experiences in Delhi because we stayed as a guest of Rajni.
This was the perfect way to wrap up my travels in India. It’s a wonderful, safe, family environment. It was great to be able to share several meals together and get to know the family. The food was excellent and Rajni was an incredible host.
The level of hospitality exceeded my expectations. She provided suggestions on what to do in the area, helped arrange a taxi when needed, and told me how to best negotiate with the tuk tuk drivers. I was even invited to watch a movie with everyone one afternoon before dinner.
The accommodations are excellent and it's located in a nice, safe neighborhood. It's close to Khan Market and India Gate (I walked there) at the center of Delhi.
It was an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Rajni's house is definitely a great experience: Yes, Yes, Yes, you should stay with her and her family. As a host myself, I even learned a few things.
The house is centrally located and easy to access via metro, tuk-tuk, taxi, or walking. I even took advantage of using it as my "oasis" and returning during the day for lunch and a rest before an afternoon adventure--a necessity in the city. Because it is a nice neighborhood, it is secluded and very clean, very safe. Ample tree cover provides serenity and cool air; the sounds of birds in the nearby trees was a very pleasant way to wake in the morning--much better than the honking of the streets! Be sure to have exact directions to get there from the airport, some cabbies might not know.
The apartment is clean, comfortable, and a great place to call home. Bed and bath were just right, and I was able to sleep and feel clean and confident without a problem. The WiFi was great for helping me check-in and make plans. I even appreciated getting some laundry done before I moved on.
Meals were phenomenal--healthy, flavorful, abundant and diverse--especially a great idea for any concerned with eating/drinking in India as Rajni has a top-of-the-line water filter. Sharing mealtime with the family was a great opportunity to ask questions about the city and society. Rajni and her family were able to give me great advice about what things to see and do in Dehli while there--I'm glad I took the advice as well.
Because I was meeting up with other travellers, Rajni was able to lend me an extra cell phone in case I got lost and needed her or them (definitely something I will do). She was willing to go with me and help me do some shopping for a wedding I was heading to--which I really appreciated. She even coordinated my departure taxi for me!
Lastly, I needed a bit of flexibility at the end of my trip, and I was able to make arrangements to swing through Dehli again before I departed. I am so so grateful for Rajni's hospitality and support of my adventures. Without a doubt, she and her family were some of the unexpected pleasures of my first trip to India.
I had a simply wonderful stay with Rajni and Shirish! They made me feel very welcome, and were so helpful in every conceivable way. I loved sharing breakfasts and dinners with them and our interesting conversations. Their place is in a super convenient location to a lot of the places you will want to go to and see. A further plus in a large and loud city like Delhi is also that the house is in a very quiet environment, far from the noisy streets. Rajni also provide a lot of little extras that are very appreciated, such as a city map, toiletries in case I had forgotten any, etc. I feel fortunate that I could stay with Rajni and her family.
We had a lovely stay with Rajni, Geeta cooked up some amazing food and we had some very interesting conversations! The flat is in a quiet area and we had two really good nights sleep there after our long flight. The location is great, we walked to Humayuns tomb on our first day and took buses, metro and tuk tuks on our second, all were easy to do from our home away from home. We departed very early in the morning on our last day but Rajni was up, making sure we got our cab that she had booked for us the evening before. I can highly recommend this place.
