This was the perfect way to wrap up my travels in India. It’s a wonderful, safe, family environment. It was great to be able to share several meals together and get to know the family. The food was excellent and Rajni was an incredible host.
The level of hospitality exceeded my expectations. She provided suggestions on what to do in the area, helped arrange a taxi when needed, and told me how to best negotiate with the tuk tuk drivers. I was even invited to watch a movie with everyone one afternoon before dinner.
The accommodations are excellent and it's located in a nice, safe neighborhood. It's close to Khan Market and India Gate (I walked there) at the center of Delhi.
It was an enjoyable and relaxing stay.
Rajni's house is definitely a great experience: Yes, Yes, Yes, you should stay with her and her family. As a host myself, I even learned a few things.
The house is centrally located and easy to access via metro, tuk-tuk, taxi, or walking. I even took advantage of using it as my "oasis" and returning during the day for lunch and a rest before an afternoon adventure--a necessity in the city. Because it is a nice neighborhood, it is secluded and very clean, very safe. Ample tree cover provides serenity and cool air; the sounds of birds in the nearby trees was a very pleasant way to wake in the morning--much better than the honking of the streets! Be sure to have exact directions to get there from the airport, some cabbies might not know.
The apartment is clean, comfortable, and a great place to call home. Bed and bath were just right, and I was able to sleep and feel clean and confident without a problem. The WiFi was great for helping me check-in and make plans. I even appreciated getting some laundry done before I moved on.
Meals were phenomenal--healthy, flavorful, abundant and diverse--especially a great idea for any concerned with eating/drinking in India as Rajni has a top-of-the-line water filter. Sharing mealtime with the family was a great opportunity to ask questions about the city and society. Rajni and her family were able to give me great advice about what things to see and do in Dehli while there--I'm glad I took the advice as well.
Because I was meeting up with other travellers, Rajni was able to lend me an extra cell phone in case I got lost and needed her or them (definitely something I will do). She was willing to go with me and help me do some shopping for a wedding I was heading to--which I really appreciated. She even coordinated my departure taxi for me!
Lastly, I needed a bit of flexibility at the end of my trip, and I was able to make arrangements to swing through Dehli again before I departed. I am so so grateful for Rajni's hospitality and support of my adventures. Without a doubt, she and her family were some of the unexpected pleasures of my first trip to India.
I had a simply wonderful stay with Rajni and Shirish! They made me feel very welcome, and were so helpful in every conceivable way. I loved sharing breakfasts and dinners with them and our interesting conversations. Their place is in a super convenient location to a lot of the places you will want to go to and see. A further plus in a large and loud city like Delhi is also that the house is in a very quiet environment, far from the noisy streets. Rajni also provide a lot of little extras that are very appreciated, such as a city map, toiletries in case I had forgotten any, etc. I feel fortunate that I could stay with Rajni and her family.
We had a lovely stay with Rajni, Geeta cooked up some amazing food and we had some very interesting conversations! The flat is in a quiet area and we had two really good nights sleep there after our long flight. The location is great, we walked to Humayuns tomb on our first day and took buses, metro and tuk tuks on our second, all were easy to do from our home away from home. We departed very early in the morning on our last day but Rajni was up, making sure we got our cab that she had booked for us the evening before. I can highly recommend this place.
Staying with Rajni was truly the best experience we have ever had thru AirB&B.
It was more like being with family than renting a room. We had dinner with Rajni after first arriving and Rajni had a cook prepare us any meals we wanted—all included. The space is comfortable and welcoming but the thing that made it so special was Rajni herself who is very charming and extremely helpful.
This was our first time in India and we found the location to be perfect—near the Hop On, Hop Off bus which we used a lot and the Modern Art Museum which is a must see. It is within easy walking distance of a mall which has several good Western restaurants and a more local oriented mall which has a very good Indian restaurant.
Rajni also introduced us to her neighbors who could not have been more helpful. We also had dinner with them and their teenage daughters. We truly felt like we had not only been welcomed into Rajni’s family but theirs as well.
This is AirB&B at it’s best.
We stayed for a couple of nights, myself, Corinne and my daughter. Rajni and Shiresh were away but were always available by phone or email - they were really helpful and concerned beyond the call of duty.
We were met by the delightful Geeta, the home help, who also cooked some wonderful vegetarian meals. I will remember those very nutty bean sprouts for a long time. Greta is great! I tried to give her a kiss at the end, but I think you don't do that in India. Must be a caste thing.
The place is fairly central, in a gated community. It is therefore very quiet. Something you really appreciate in India. Its close to Khan markets which have a lot of nice restaurants and other shops.
The room is spacious and homey. There is the lounge too, but to be honest we weren't around much. Since we were there in the middle of winter, it was quite cold. Indian homes aren't really designed for this. However, with the heater on, the bedroom was warm. There is a warm shower in a huge bathroom. But you need to dress warm.
Just before leaving we met Rajni. She flew in early, after an all nighter, and I think woke up to say goodbye to us and arrange the final taxi. Too much! She was interesting and nice. She has made a movie in the house! It would have been great to talk with her longer.
Rajni and her husband were very hospitable & helpful hosts. Their home is located in a posh and upscale part of the town, just steps away from Purana Qila (old fort). The guest room & bathroom are a bit old, but in decent condition. Having the opportunity to experience first-hand the life of a local family and being served with superb home-made food everyday by their home cook was just priceless.

I am an actor, scriptwriter and a filmmaker. Raag...the rhythm of love, a feature film written and directed by me was released in theaters earlier this year. My last big release as an actor has been the Priyanka Chopra starer biopic, Mary Kom. I played the mother of Mary Kom in the film. The film had world premier at Toronto Film Festival recently.
