The neighborhood is just close enough to what's happening to be central and just far enough away from the action to provide a respite once you come home.
The house is three blocks from one of the most charming streets in Oaxaca and a pleasant ten minute walk from the Andador Turistico (Pedestrian Walkway) that's a must-see for anyone's first trip to Oaxaca.
Taxis abound in Oaxaca and can be hailed on the street. They are usually safe, clean and inexpensive.
We are within two blocks of bus stops. The bus fare is six pesos and can zip you around town in a matter of minutes.
Here are some things you’ll want to know during your stay.

I highly recommend KT’s ‘Heavenly Homestay’ to any Oaxaca-bound traveller. The house is well-located in a safe and quiet neighborhood; central enough to allow for a short walk into town and beautifully decorated. More importantly however, K.T. is an amazing host full of local knowledge and amazingly helpful. She quickly made me feel at home and I much enjoyed talking to her over coffee in the mornings or sharing my adventures when I returned home in the evenings. One of my best AirBnB experiences!
KT is organised, responsive and passionate about Oaxaca. She gave us great recommendations and seemed very keyed into the cultural scene in Oaxaca. The house is wonderfully calm, spacious and clean and our room was lovely. It is positioned at the perfect distance and elevation from all the action - all in all a great experience.
K.T. was a warm and accommodating host. She had great recommendations. The room and house were gorgeous, and her pets so friendly. Highly recommend!
K.Ts place was fantastic. The room had everything we needed, the bed was super comfortable and we also enjoyed use of the terrace. The best thing about the stay was chatting with K.T and the advice she gave about Oaxaca. Coffee and tea were an added bonus.
The house is in a quiet neighbourhood, easy walking distance to Central Oaxaca, with some great cafes, restaurants and a market nearby.
K.T. Is just the best host that you can ever get. She knows every details of Oaxaca and is always ready to help or provide information about places of interest in Oaxaca. We feel like home even we are thousands miles away from China. Guapo and Carmen are the most adorable pets. The room is nicely decorated and the bed is very comfortable. You can also easily spend the morning in the terrace with sunshine and view of the mountains surrounding. We highly recommend K.T.'s place without any hesitation.
Such a lovely home to stay in! K.T is incredibly helpful and full of great advice. There's an adorable dog and cat and all her water in the house is purified (bonus) very modern and clean house with beautiful local folk art. About 15 min down hill walk to city center or about a $3-$5 cab ride if you're too tired to walk up a hill. Highly recommend will defiantly come back :)

About the Host, K. T.
I moved to Oaxaca from New York City in the winter of 2006 because a friend told me if I lived in Oaxaca, I’d never be bored---and was she ever right! Art openings, dance classes, film festivals, concerts, lunches and outings with friends to small towns in the mountains, or breathtaking pine forests, classes given and classes taken and the day to day things that make house holding a full-time job keep me happy and busy—and never, ever bored.
The Oaxaca I love is beautiful, safe and a treat for all five senses. I never leave the house without discovering something I’ve never seen before, so I encourage friends to come and discover the Oaxaca that makes them as happy as my Oaxaca makes me.
