The space

Light-filled home with two bedrooms in a tastefully appointed Seward Park home. In addition to vacation stays, Airbnb guests have used the home for photo shoots and private parties. It's also been published as "House of the Week" in Seattle Metropolitan magazine (URL HIDDEN)

Rooms include a brand new 47-inch flat screen w/ DVD, new king and queen mattresses, luxury linens, desk and free WIFI. The home contains one beautifully remodeled bathroom spa. The rooms overlook a green belt with native forest. The home easily accommodates longer term stays and I've hosted several guests for 6 weeks or longer. The bathroom spa includes a steam room for eucalyptus infused rejuvenation. Restoration Hardware towels, Italian sandstone tiles, and teak bench compliment your spa experience. Home includes dining and living rooms, kitchen with gas range, and laundry facilities. The deck has a gas grill and outdoor teak dining table.

House trained adult dogs are welcome inside the house. They have full access to a spacious enclosed dog run with dog house.

Home is situated between City of Seattle's Seward Park on Lake Washington and the retail and restaurant district of Columbia City. There is ample free street parking in front of the house. Home is minutes from light rail with travel time of 25 minutes to the airport or 15 minutes to downtown. Buses run two blocks away to downtown Seattle and Capitol Hill. The PCC gourmet natural foods market is two blocks away.

Guests have the entire home which includes two bedrooms, a steam/shower spa, living room, kitchen and dining room. Guests come and go as they wish. I am always available in person or by phone if guests have questions or need any assistance. The downstairs apartment is occupied by another tenant. All individuals and couples are welcome!

We stayed at the Zen Retreat for about 3 months from winter to spring in 2017. The interior of the house is well kept, well furnished, well equipped and much character is present as well. Outside of the house is great too! Since our stay was longer we got to enjoy a couple seasons here from a well-timed snow covered zen scene to being surrounded on all sides by cherry blossoms. We lived here with small kids 2-4 years old. There are 3 pretty good playgrounds nearby, including the one inside Seward park. Columbia city library is near, but go a little farther to Rainier Beach library for their huge kids section. Our kids are fascinated by trains, so the Columbia city light rail station is good, but go on the weekends when nearby residential parking opens up. Kitchen not stocked or don't want to cook? The local PCC on Edmunds has a classroom that is turned into a dining room when classes are not in session. Oh yea, do a walk through of the house before letting the kids inside. In particular, things that curious hands can reach, lamps that can be pushed, and any artwork that you don't feel like answering an awkward question about should be moved. :) We'll miss our stay here--we'll have to come back for summer and autumn!

Comfy and spacious 2-bedroom in Seward Park. A quiet location that was very dog-friendly. Just a few blocks from a couple of coffee shops and a short drive/longer walk to Columbia City. Just as pictured with updated spa bathroom and views of Lake Washington from the north side of the house.

I am a biologist and enjoy outdoor recreation and exploring all the beauty the PNW has to offer. I also enjoy travel in the U.S. and abroad. I seek out great restaurants and cultural activities when I am exploring a new city. I am low-key, trustworthy, and generally most people like me.
