OUR UNIQUE AREA IN CLARKSDALE
As you walk or drive along West Second Street you will notice many beautiful homes. Back in the day, this was the premium place to live in Clarksdale. In the past ten to twenty years many families have moved away or to other newer neighborhoods. If you drive around you will see pristine homes and yards and you will see impoverished homes and yards and you will see everything in-between.
We enjoy our neighborhood and are grateful we live in a safe, beautiful neighborhood filled with diversity. We know you will love it too.
Welcome to our unique part of the world!
Visit the DELTA BOHEMIAN website.
Consider hiring Chilly Billy to personally orient you and show you around via DELTA BOHEMIAN TOURS. Read more about this on our DB website!

I am the Publisher and Producer of the DELTA BOHEMIAN, an online magazine about our unique perspective of the Mississippi Delta, where I was born and raised.
We offer overnight accommodations in the DELTA BOHEMIAN GUEST HOUSE and the CLARKSDALE WHITE HOUSE. Both properties share a common, large, private backyard.
The three private bedrooms in the CLARKSDALE WHITE HOUSE are very large and each one has it's own expansive private bathroom. The common areas are abundant with multiple options for lounging and/or working. The home itself is beautiful.
The DELTA BOHEMIAN GUEST HOUSE is an upscale and funky self-contained accommodation. Guests who book this unique property get the whole 1,000 sq ft home to themselves. It is ideal for a couple, several friends or a small family.
ABOUT ME: I was born in Clarksdale in 1958 but was raised in Tallahatchie County near a little town of 250+ people called Sumner. I went off to school at All Saints Episcopal High School in Vicksburg my junior year in high school. Upon graduation I went to Southwestern at Memphis, now called Rhodes College, and later transferred to the University of Texas in Austin where I graduated in 1980 with a BA in Theater.
During my college years I lived in Paris and in Bilbao, Spain during the summers. I enjoy traveling. I lived in Dallas, Memphis 3 different times, Austin, Red Rock, Texas, Philadelphia, PA, Atlanta, GA and New York City where I worked for Putumayo.
I moved back home to the Mississippi Delta to Sumner in 1994 to raise my daughter Corinne. I finally moved to the place where I was born, Clarksdale, in 2010 when my husband, Billy, and I bought the CLARKSDALE WHITE HOUSE on West Second Street, a home I long been my favorite house in Clarksdale while growing up as a child. When it became available for sale, and Billy and I were newlyweds looking for a place of our own, I couldn't believe it. We feel so blessed to live in it.
In addition, we were wildly blessed when we found out that if we bought the house on West Second, we also got the bonus guest house in the back yard. Oh My! Are you kidding me? It needed a lot of work.
We partially renovated it in 2010. New roof. New siding. Insulation. Basic stuff. We rented it to two Teach 4 America girls for 2 years. Once their commitment here in Clarksdale ended, they each returned home to their families and Billy and I had a decision to make. Continue to rent it long term or bite the bullet and fully restore this special place.
Many thousands of dollars later, after 9 weeks, and with the help of our good friend, Interior Designer Marilyn Trainor Storey, we opened the Delta Bohemian Guest House. We adore this place and we think you will too.
It is difficult to describe just how good it feels to stay in the DELTA BOHEMIAN GUEST HOUSE or the CLARKSDALE WHITE HOUSE. It's something very special and we feel honored and blessed to be your hosts. It is our privilege to offer you a real taste of southern hospitality.
Life is about relationships and we treasure every encounter. We look forward to meeting you, welcoming you and giving you a place to experience the Mississippi Delta like nowhere else you have ever stayed.
