We were given clear directions to locate the site and get checked in.
We were kindly allowed to get in the room early. The room was comfortable and clean with adequate dishes and utensils for our needs. The balcony provided great views and we spent a lot of time on it. Alejandro was cordial and was certainly more forgiving than he had to be when I made a (not-to-be-mentioned) mistake. I was grateful for his consideration. We enjoyed our stay and would be glad to return.
Alejandro and Carolyn were more than helpful when we stayed at their studio in November. We met with Alejandro the day after our arrival. My husband and I had both been unwell and Alejandro and Carolyn very kindly allowed us to stay longer in the studio until our airport pick up. The studio is fantastic - very spacious with great facilities. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.
Great little condo to rest and clean up after a long day of activities. It was comfortable and in a great location in the Hotel Zone. It has all the amenities you need and since I am a technician the WiFi connection was good. Beach and Pool are available. Alejandro and his wife are great and will look forward from renting from them again. Cheers!
Great location, just meters away from Cancun beach - I actually almost stumbled over a sea turtle laying eggs when I had a late night walk on the beach. Very clean, well equipped, and Alejandro was extremely helpful and responsive with information via email prior to check-in.
My friends and I only stayed one night at Alejandro's place. We arrived later than expected so Alejandro left a lock box with a key in it at the door. To my surprise, he was still in the building when we arrived so he greeted us and was very friendly and informative; he even gave us a coupon for complimentary margaritas at a nice restaurant we went to which had the view of the lagoon. The place was clean, had a beautiful view of the beach, and was close to the airport. It was not far from an OXXO (convenience store). The other reviews are accurate-- it is like a hotel room with a kitchenette. We didn't use the kitchen or the pool since we were only there one night and had an early flight. An important point is that the name of the complex is Solymar.
Our experience with Alejandro with great. This was our first trip to Mexico and I would recommend Cancun and Alejandro's studios. The view was great the studio was clean and tidy and if you required anything you just had to ask. We liked having the cooking facilities and of course the beach was a very short walk away. We will be back.
Our host Alejandro and his wife were absolutely great. We had a bit of a tricky time getting there because I wasn't fully prepared on my part but they guided us and were available all the way there. A few helpful points: the name of the complex is called Solimar. The address is actually the kilometer distance from the main part of Cancun, so this place is 18.7 km on a single road so no need for other details in the address. Take a shuttle from the airport and wait for others so its cheaper, the guy will try to convince you to take a private vehicle for more money.
The suite is actually more like a hotel room with a full kitchenette, just like the photos. Overlooks the ocean, really beautiful. There is a buffet restaurant in the complex but it cost 200 pesos each for breakfast and the food is underwhelming. Better to go to town- there is a bus for 9.5 pesos take the R1 or R2. We bought groceries and cooked breakfasts ourselves.
The ocean was not calm the whole time there, I recommend going to Isla Mujeres via ferry from town for an incredible beach experience.
Not much near the place other than other hotels but there is an OXXO which is like a 7-11 and is the cheapest place to buy water, smokes, common beers. Also there is a restaurant called Navios walking distance which is excellent. It's on the water. Check out my trip advisor review of the rest of our Cancun experience.
