If you're travelling solo - I'm always game to join you for drinks or dinner (we'll go dutch of course!) So really, it's totally up to the guest if they want company or not.

  • A nice little place, close to the two major art museums and lots of restaurants in the Westport area (all of this in easy walking distance). Quiet neighborhood, easy parking, lots of light. You feel like you're up in the trees--and you are.

You do need to feel comfortable going up the steep outside stairs. A bit spooky at first, but OK once you've done it.

All in all, a pleasant "mother in law apartment" (which is what we would call it in Minnesota).

  • I've stayed at Linda's twice now for a total of 4 weeks. I have gotten to know her and her family (and their sweet dog, Buster) and can totally stand by all the warm, comments made by other visitors. Linda is wonderful and accommodating and was just the right balance of being concerned about my comforts and leaving me to just "live" in the space. I was there through two big snow storms and her concern for my well-being was more than kind. I travel a lot and have stayed in many hotels and other long term situations and have never felt more at home.
I was a stranger to Kansas City when I first came (in the middle of the night, I might add) but I feel I left Kansas City with a new friend; one that I can highly recommend. Yes, you do have to watch out for those stairs---the smaller your suitcase the better!

  • My husband and I wanted a weekend getaway so we found Linda's place. It was absolutely adorable, very clean and she was super accommodating. We couldn't of been happier. Definitely can't get that from an hotel! We will be back again in the future!!

  • Highly recommend Linda's studio! Comfortable and private space close to everything in this outstanding city. Linda is an excellent host, does everything to make sure you are happy and recommends great places to eat and things to do (every meal in KC was terrific but the best meal was Linda's suggestion - Cafe Gratitude.) As I like to run when traveling, Linda's neighborhood looks to be really good for this - parks nearby, plenty of sidewalks, etc. We definitely look forward to return trips to Linda's studio and this great city.

  • Hosting is more than just providing a room Linda far exceeded my expectation. The place is not only lovely, she will provide her guests with small amenities in case you forget anything. The place is calming and quiet, bright I loved it. But as she warns the stairs are something else lol. If you want to be close to the museum's or the Plaza it's close by. I really recommend this place

  • Linda was amazingly warm and kind! She accommodated our late night arrival and provided us with the invaluable information of a seasoned veteran of Kansas City living. The place was a nothing short of a dream tree-house. So cozy and fun. If you are young (single or couple), and looking for the perfect 'base-camp' to have for your Kansas City exploring, this is the PERFECT place. Cheers!

  • Linda was a great host. The place was exactly as described. The height of the stairs might be intimidating, but once you got the hang of it, it was fine. We were quite comfortable and the place was clean and quiet. Due to weather our arrival times were delayed and we kept Linda apprised of our status and she was very accommodating of our later than expected arrival. There were a few items already stocked in the fridge and bathroom that made our stay even better as these items can't be brought on the plane. The place is real close to the Plaza so getting downtown was easy. If in the area, my wife and I would stay again. It was our first experience with AirBnB and Linda help make it a great one. With experiences like this, I may never travel in hotels again. If you are considering Linda's place as a stop, I would highly recommend it. My wife and I felt quite at home and very comfortable. We never heard any noise from downstairs and we tried to do the same.
We had no trouble finding the place. It was pretty easy to get to from the airport.

Thanks Linda, we had a great time.

  • Linda was a great host. Very communicative and helpful when we needed assistance. The apartment looks just like the pictures - very warm and inviting. The double bed was very comfortable. Fortunately, the leaves were still on the trees when we stayed there - it was very much like living in a tree house! The location was perfect for our purposes - very close to the Plaza and art museums. It was nice to have a kitchenette to cook our own meals and save money during our visit.

My favorite travel destinations are anywhere and everywhere! But esp. Scandinavia. I'm a pretty low key host. If you need something, just ask. I'll be happy to share my knowledge of KC with you too.
