Only a block or two away from several public transport stops that will get you anywhere you need to go in the city. This includes both the N-Line (light rail) which will take you directly into Union Square or if you prefer to take the train west, you will arrive on the sands of the Pacific Ocean within 10 minutes. Beautiful sunsets! There are also several bus stops within a block or two as well.
The Inner Sunset has a quaint, neighborhood vibe right in the heart of the city. There are numerous restaurants to choose from, including SF favorites: Arizmendi Pizza, Nopalito, Pasion and Marnee Thai Restaurant. There is also a wide diversity of ethnic cuisine, such as, Ethiopian, Taiwanese, Mexican, Thai, Chinese, Eritrean, Indian and I may be forgetting a country or two.
In need of groceries? We are one block away from Andronico’s Supermarket. I probably end up stopping in there about two or three times a day myself.
We have two dogs, Savuka and Toby. They are Lab mixes. Very friendly and generally calm. You will get an excited, tail-wagging greeting when you come in the house, but they quickly revert to chill-out mode soon after you arrive.
Again, If you have any additional questions/concerns, please email and I will respond as soon as I can.
All common areas, including the kitchen. We provide breakfast items such as bagels, spreads, cereal, fruits, sugar, milk, coffee and tea.
Interaction with Guests
Our interaction is very flexible with each guest. Of course everyone's personality is a little different, so we try to be aware and respectful of the level of interaction a guest may be seeking from us. That being said, we are always available to answer any questions our guests may have for us during the duration of their stay.
Relative to other neighborhoods in the city, the Inner Sunset is quiet and safe. There are numerous restaurants and activities within a couple of blocks of our house. One of our favorite features of our neighborhood is the proximity to Golden Gate Park. We are only 3 blocks from the entrance. One of the true treasures of San Francisco. Our neighborhood is centrally located in the city where we are only a 10 minute commute west to Ocean Beach and about a 20-30 minute commute east to the downtown area, the Embarcadero, Chinatown, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. On a side note, we are a 15 minute walk from our house to Golden Gate Heights Park, which is a small park on a hill, that on a clear day, provides one of the best panoramic views in the San Francisco.
You can get anywhere you want to go in the city using public transportation. Bus and train stops are only 1 block from our house.
We prefer a check-in time no later than 9pm, but we are flexible if there is a special circumstance.
We had a great time at Jacqui and Rob's place. Jacqui and Rob were very welcoming and relaxed, the bedroom and private bathroom were really lovely. Jacqui and Rob kindly left muffins, bagels, butter, jam and cereal for us, and gave us space in the fridge for our use. Their dogs are wonderful - big but soft natured.
A very comfortable and cosy apartment - big bed, plenty of storage space, laundry facilities and your own bathroom down the hall. Rob was there to meet us and explain everything from the off, so we felt very welcome and clear of everything in the house.
Two big and very enthusiastic dogs - always ready to give you a sniffy, barky welcome! We loved them, but they're pretty big if you're scared of dogs.
Very clean and everything provided for bathing and cooking. Rob and Jacqui also have breakfast things for you, and your own stash of teas, coffee and fruit. A lovely touch!
Excellent location - Goldengate Park is 3 mins walk with tonnes of things to do; Botanical Gardens, Boating/duck lake, Japanese Tea Gardens, Science Museum, DeYoung Museum, Windmills, Bison Park etc. There's also beach access at the other end. Very easy to get into town by public transport as well - the N trolley takes you to market st, but it does take a little while.
We'd definitely recommend this apartment if you want some local tips, a little space to yourself and for spending time on the quiter side of town!
We had almost all the interaction with Rob. He is an amazing host. He helped us with everything we asked - finding a parking spot which is a hassle in San Francisco, and providing all the information about the area, places to see, and how to get there. If you are not used to staying in a big city, and travelling by the public transport, it takes some time to get used to it. Rob made it look easy. His place is wonderful, and very close to pretty much everything you need. Golden Gate park is just 2 blocks away, there are lots of good restaurants around the area, and it's accessible to public transport. He also accommodated early check in. I would definitely recommend his place !!
We were welcomed by and mostly inteacted with Rob, although we did get a chance to chat wth Jacqui. They were both very hospitable and Rob went out of his way to help us with a couple minor requests. The space itself was exactly as advertised: a cozy modern room, with a private bath. You do have to talk down a long hall to get between the bedroom and the bath, but that's a small inconvenience. The kitchen, which we had access to, and the basic breakfast snacks/fruit provided, were a nice bonus. The location right along Golden Gate Park, just a couple blocks from quick public transit to downtown was superb. Their two dogs are very mellow and affectionate, but they are big and in the common areas, so those who're dog-averse may wish to find somewhere else.
It is an excellent place to stay. It's two block away from the Golden Gate Park and the transportation was super convenient. Unlike staying at a hotel, we will have the opportunity to experience the amazing culture San Francisco has to offer. There are a lot of restaurants in the neighborhood and the bakery on 9th is my favorite!
The apartment is amazing, very clean and in a great location. The room is just as described, cozy and quiet, the kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom was super clean and comfortable. We didn't meet Jacqui, but Rob was an amazing host, very accessible and fore mostly a genuinely nice person to talk to. Their two dogs are amazing as well, very calm and loving animals.
Jacqui and Rob were nice and friendly! Me and my friend stayed there for 5 days and although we saw Jacqui one time she was very nice. We kept had some communications with Rob and he was really helping, caring and friendly. The room was awsome, neat and cozy. They private bathroom was nice, too. They gave us some bagles, jam, butter, milk and we were also able to make some coffee and tea for ourselves.
We also did our laundries during our stay.
There is a nearby busstop for downtown and the golden gate park is really close. It was such a wonderful time there! I highly recommend this place.
Oh p.s : the dogs are very nice and cute, too :)
We both moved to San Francisco about 3 years ago for the love of the city. There is so much to do in this city that we're continuously finding new things to do and new adventures to explore. We look forward to hosting you.
