DESCRIPTION:

Bu-shay's Bungalow is a beautiful beach house located within walking distance of the Galveston Seawall. You can even enjoy the beautiful view of Galveston East Beach from the balcony! Imagine yourself listening to the sounds of the ocean from the balcony or backyard patio, or enjoying the breeze of the island...

Bu-shay's is a one bedroom, one bath house with garage parking. This bungalow is great for couples, families, or time alone (can easily accommodate up to 4 adults). The couch is a futon, so it doubles as a full-sized bed; I also have a cot, if needed. I have just added 2 adults trikes (for the adventure seekers). You can walk or ride the trike to the seawall and the Pleasure Pier in 3 min. or less.* Free Wi-Fi is also available.

There are a variety of restaurants within 3 min. walking distance/0.5 miles driving distance, such as: Fishtails, Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co., Joe's Crab Shack, and The Brick House. "The Spot", one of my favorites, is another restaurant that's famous for their burgers, and its only 2 minutes walking/ 0.4 miles driving distance!

Kroger grocery store is nearby for shopping. It's located on the seawall, 7 minutes walking/2.2 miles driving and Walmart is 9 minutes walking/ 2.9 miles driving.

If you're interested in touring the area, Stewart Beach is 7 minutes walking/ 2.2 miles driving. "The Strand" (downtown) also offers a variety of different shops and restaurants, only 8 minutes walking/1.8 miles away.

*Prices vary on weekends, holidays, and summer months

Bu-Shay's Bungalow offers a variety of Amenities including, but not limited to, the following:

*Robes and Slippers
*Towel Warmer
*Luxurious Bath Salts
*Outdoor Grills
*(2) adult Trikes-(3 wheels bikes)

  • My wife and I stayed at Bu-shays for a long weekend. it was an awesome experience. We will definitely stay here again, it was close to the beach and very easy access to the sea wall and resturants. This place is great for a couples getaway weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

  • Such a quaint and inviting getaway. Sharon gives you all of the extra touches to make you feel right at home. Room for three adults with the futon and the cot (which was surprisingly comfortable). She goes the extra mile to ensure that everything is considered -- from the coffee and welcome amenity to the beach chairs, umbrella and tricycles. Such fun!

  • Thank you Sharon for allowing us to stay at your Bungalow. We had an amazing family vacation thanks to your thoughtfulness & attentiveness. You were also always available & a very accommodating hostess! Thanks for everything. :)

  • I absolutely loved our stay in Sharon's adorable, clean, house! I was there with my husband, baby and a toddler, and my sister joined us for one night. The house is in a very convenient location. Close to the seawall, but far enough from all the noise. Only 7 minutes away from Stewart beach. The outside terrace was perfect for us parents to unwind when the kids went down for the night, and the garage useful for our car. Sharon was always available, welcoming, helpful, professional, and very sweet from the beginning reservations and throughout our stay. You can tell that she put her heart into the decor and she really knows what you'd need during the stay starting with a very nice welcome note and gift, beach towels, hair dryer, extra sheets, an extra fold out bed that my 4 year old loved and a fold out couch with sheets that my sister appreciated, ice cubes, bath salts, even two adult tricycles to use at your own risk :-)! I really felt at home there and I am already planning to contact Sharon for our next trip to Galveston! Thank you!!

  • Sharon Brown is a wonderful hostess. She always responded with a friendly text to all my questions very quickly and offered much information before and at arrival time. The bungalow is fully equipped, in a great neighborhood, safe and spotless. We had so much fun riding the tricycles around town and on the seawall. The beds were comfortable and it was very quiet at night. We enjoyed the spacious bathroom with all the thoughtful extras. There were plenty of nice linens and great pillows. The air conditioner worked great too. We cooked in the kitchen, which had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again and tell our friends. Thank you, Ms. Brown, for such a lovely stay!

  • This is our second year staying at the bungalow, and it won't be the last one. It is such a great place to spend some relaxing time in Galveston. It's super clean, a couple of blocks from the beach, fully equipped, and with two three-wheeled bicycles making it a delightful way to move about the area. Thank you Sharon for your hospitality. We love your place!

  • Stayed at Bu Shay bungalow this past weekend. The bungalow was very comfortable. It really was a great choice. The accomodations were so homey that even though it was raining we enjoyed this stay. My friend who accompanied me used the word fabulous. Will definitely seek to stay at Bu Shay again. Thanks for everything.

  • I LOVED this place! I've stayed at quite a few places in Galveston over the years and this is by far the best location yet if you actually want to get out there, have some drinks and stumble back to the house. It's super close to my fave dive bar, The Poop Deck and the Pleasure Pier and all that fun touristy stuff too. It's like a 1 minute walk to the seawall.
It's set up really nice too. Super comfy. Great bed! Nice big bathroom. Great deck. Nice private yard.
I would go back for sure! Not a single complaint.

  • Had a great experience here at the Bu-shay Bungalow. So much better then staying at a hotel. Will definitely be going back there the next time we go to Galveston.

  • House was in tip-top shape and was very comfortable for a single couple with all the dishes, pots, pans, and silverware which could be needed. We used the candles and had fun reading all the little signs and decorations throughout. Several homes on the street other than this one still show signs of Hurricane Ike but otherwise the neighborhood was pleasant, convenient, and safe. We had a bit of difficulty with the trikes and decided against going for a long ride. The only real disappointment was that the internet and cable were not working seemingly due to a lingering account issue - we checked in advance and were told that the internet would be working at least so we decided to stay - normally on vacation not a big deal, however we were hoping to watch part of the football game and we really needed to get some work done for classes that had assignments due. We found a local coffee shop full of med students on Post Office which provided unsecure but free wifi and we managed to loiter there for about 5 hours during the trip. Sharon and her daughter Crystal had a bunch of DVDs in the house and we watched one during the evening. Overall a great place to stay, especially if you don't need wifi or cable - in Galveston there are lots of better things to do with your time anyway! :)

About
I love to travel, and meeting new people has always been the highlight of my life. I volunteer for the U.S.O. (United Service Organizations) as much as possible. I began opening up my home for women who were battling cancer; giving these women and their families a place to get away for a weekend, at no cost. This was my way of saying, "I know what you're going through". I still enjoy giving to these women. Now, not only women, but men as well are welcome to enjoy this gift. I have opened up my home for people who want to stay in a place that feels like home. When I'm not hard at work, I also enjoy the fruits of my labor. That's, of course, if no one else is there. :) I just want others to enjoy the house as much as I do. My motto in Life is "Keep it Simple".
