Paradise Grove Cottage is the perfect retreat in Sonoma County. Come stay with us and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of Austin Creek with majestic Old Growth redwood trees towering above. Relax and unwind in our little corner of paradise.
This cabin sleeps 4 in two simple and cozy rooms each with a queen size bed. The full kitchen is open to the living room, where a fireplace will warm all your cares away. Paradise Grove Cottage can sleep up to 6 people including the pull-out sofa bed.
This cottage is located just next to the grounds of the award-winning Raymond’s Bakery. While you are here, you are welcome to enjoy a sun-filled afternoon in the garden, take a dip in the Austin Creek swimming hole, play boccie ball relax under the gazebo, or nap under the apple tree. In the evenings you can partake in an old fashioned camp fire
Our bakery is open Friday through Sunday with local musicians playing on Friday evenings for our Community Pizza, Beer & Wine Night. We do close the bakery from early December through mid January to give our awesome staff a break for the holidays.
Enjoy breakfast in your cottage or come by the bakery to sip a hot latte or espresso made with fresh ground organic fair trade coffee beans on our Redwood patio surrounded by centuries-old trees (our oldest is over 1,200 years old!).
Our cottages allow you to get away from it all! Or stay connected with our free wifi.
In addition to breakfast, Raymond’s Bakery offers sandwiches or pizza for lunch. Friday night is our Community Pizza, Beer & Wine Night, open until 9pm! Just check out our bakery web site (raymondsbakery) for our current seasonal hours. (Sonoma County has many other restaurants to enjoy.)

Mark was an amazing host and the cabin was absolutely perfect. Mark greeted us when we arrived, put cocktails in our hands and walked us down to Paradise Grove, a sweet little cottage surrounded by redwoods overlooking the river. He was incredibly kind, made sure we had everything we needed all weekend and we couldn't have had a more lovely stay. Thank you so much, Mark! We'll be back for sure
We had a great time in the beautiful and appropriately named Paradise Cottage! Right next to the river and a fantastic view of giant redwoods right in front of the house. Couldn't be a more scenic cottage.
I can't say enough about Mark and Elizabeth. They were communicative, friendly and went above and beyond in every instance. The cottage was cozy and quaint and Friday night at the bakery was so much fun. Thank you for a great weekend!!!
This is the type of place that is made great by the people and the community even more so than the house itself (which is also quite nice). Mark and Elizabeth have a great little operation going and they are super welcoming (as all other reviewers have already noted). Their twin children are also adorable and were exceptionally friendly to the little ones in our own group. The bakery is clearly an important community center, as locals are constantly in and out and the Friday night pizza concert was fabulous (over 3 hours of great local music to go with the pleasant weather and dinner).
The Paradise Grove Cottage is very nicely situated on a quiet little alley in a grove of trees right next to a beautiful creek (which we imagine is even more beautiful in non-drought years). The kitchen/dining room area is nicely renovated and well stocked. The bedrooms were a bit dusty, damp and musty, so allergy sufferers should bring their medicine (we had to sleep with the windows open, which wasn't a problem given the nice weather). Replacing the carpets with hardwood flooring would go a long way towards solving this issue. The BBQ deck is also nice but looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while but it didn't really matter to us.
Overall score: fantastic people + great location + nice accommodation + good food + reasonable price = highly recommended! We want to return already.
Thanks so much for your kind words and more importantly for your feedback as far as what we can improve. I love your recommendations on removing the carpeting and I plan on doing that in by the end of the year. I think that being dog friendly and having a creek outside tends to bring a bit more water inside no matter how well the pups are dried before coming in. :-)
I'll also let the crew to know to make sure not to forget the back deck.
Once again, thank you so much for bringing things to our attention. We want for people to have the best chance to rest and rejuvenate here and thanks to you we now know of a couple things we can do to make it even better.
Many thanks and looking forward to seeing you soon!
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage - and I'm sure that's not a new review. The location is perfect for a quiet weekend getaway, close to nature. The cottage itself is a little older, but in a good way. Amenities wise it is very well equipped, with a full kitchen. The beds were clean and comfortable. The directions well laid out and best of all, Mark and his team at the Bakery were wonderful warm people who shared both breads and stories with us. I won't hesitate to recommend this property to anybody who people heading out to the Russian River area, and are looking for a less cookie cutter experience than resorts and hotels.
Our stay in Paradise Grove Cottage was wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped, so we made a great meal, also using the BBQ, and enjoyed the deck at the back. The fireplace is a great place to gather and relax around too. We wish we could have stayed longer.
Our stay at Mark's cabin was perfect. You can tell that they really put their hearts in the place. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend Friday night pizza and music. The grounds are lovely with the seating area under the redwoods and the firepit. The bakery pastries and breads are delicious. We will definitely be returning again.

Twelve years ago my wife and I fell in love with an abandoned restaurant with four tired cottages on three acres of wild blackberries and old growth redwoods on Austin Creek. It has been an exhausting/exhilarating labor of love that has enriched our lives in more ways than we ever imagined. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we have!
