This cottage is located just next to the grounds of the award-winning Raymond’s Bakery. In the evenings you can partake in an old fashioned camp fire
Our bakery is open Friday through Sunday with local musicians playing on Friday evenings for our Community Pizza, Beer & Wine Night. We do close the bakery from early December through mid January to give our awesome staff a break for the holidays.
Enjoy breakfast in your cottage or come by the bakery to sip a hot latte or espresso made with fresh ground organic fair trade coffee beans on our Redwood patio surrounded by centuries-old trees (our oldest is over 1,200 years old!).
Our cottages allow you to get away from it all! Or stay connected with our free wifi.
In addition to breakfast, Raymond’s Bakery offers sandwiches or pizza for lunch. Friday night is our Community Pizza, Beer & Wine Night, open until 9pm! Just check out our bakery web site (raymondsbakery) for our current seasonal hours. (Sonoma County has many other restaurants to enjoy.)

We had a wonderful stay at the Paradise Grove Cottage! The cottage is tucked away with redwoods all around and is a great location to go wine tasting (our favorite is Iron Horse), visiting Guerneville, Duncans Mills and the beach. The hosts were great.
The host and the setting are great. The cabin was comfortable with 4 guests. The bathroom is older and some of the cabinets are musty. The furniture is older. Much of the house has however been renovated nicely. The kitchen was nicely supplied. The outdoor barbeque deck was very nice. The beds were comfortable. The neighborhood is densely wooded of course and somewhat remote. The bakery is fantastic and the staff extremely helpful.
My husband and I were fortunate to be able to stay at the Paradise Grove Cottage during our annual motorcycle trip to No. Calif. What a great find! We were very comfortable in the cottage for the week and it was located near some of our favorite roads. We didn't even mind being stuck inside during one day of rain. It is certainly a place we would like to visit again. The kitchen is nicely equipped and the beds comfortable. Thanks, Elizabeth and Mark!
Mark was very responsive and quick with information. The cottage was perfect for a weekend getaway from the City and we loved that it was pet friendly. The Friday night pizza is not to be missed, be sure to get there early in the evening to take advantage of the live music as well. We hope to be back in the summer or sooner!
An excellent stay. Mark is a very generous host, keeping us well stocked with fabulous baked goods, and quick to sort out the missing linen for the fold-out bed.
You have not met generosity until you've met Mark from Raymond's Bakery. He named the Bakery after his father who taught him to follow his heart and do what he loves, and he does. We had a most wonderful stay at the cottage and were most amazed by the warmth, generosity, kindness, thoughtfulness and more from our hosts. The cottage is adorable and well cared for, in the morning we went to the bakery and were welcomed by laughter, warm bread, stories, and more. All this in a grove that is more than 1200 years old. We are most grateful to this wonderful host family.
Staying at Paradise Grove Cottage is like camping in a redwood heaven with the conveniences of a rustic, comfortable house. It was supremely peaceful. And having that wonderful bakery a short walk away was such a luxury. We went to the Friday night pizza and music event - what fun, and the pizza is the absolute BEST we've ever tasted. Also the breads, pastries, etc.etc. A few things in the house didn't work, or needed attention, but all in all, it was a memorable experience and I'm looking forward to returning in the early summer when Austin Creek (right across the road) is full. Thanks, Mark and Elizabeth!
Our group hoped to stay at a whimsical, peaceful, hidden treasure for my Gal's Birthday Getaway, and we truly found it here. We were welcomed by open arms, glasses of wine and beer, and a tour of the grounds when we arrived; but that was only the beginning. Paradise Grove was a perfect spot for us to unwind, show off our cooking chops (we're STILL trying to figure out how to commandeer that Wedgewood stove!), and laugh together until our sides hurt.
If you're looking for a five-star resort with turn-down service and a snooty concierge, this is not the place for you. But, if you're looking for charming, even magical, you've found it. Mark (and we can only believe this of Elizabeth, too, as she as out of town when we visited) is the real deal; he loves people and it shows in everything he does. His passion is contagious, and you just might find yourself hanging out around a table, sharing a meal and a bottle of wine with him, and talking for hours. That's one of the many beauties of Elim Cottages.
One other aspect that we truly admired was the way that they have taken discarded, tired, even abandoned items and have loved them back into their former glory. This is true of the bakery itself, the cottages in which you stay (which are meticulous and gorgeous), most, if not all of the furnishings and decorations...even the über-friendly cats that roam the grounds looking for new friends were at one time abandoned and in need of a home.
We loved every minute we spent at Paradise Grove Cottage, and although we just returned home, we're already talking about when we can return!
We stayed in the Paradise Grove Cabin- which is further down the small road behind the Bakery and just across from the creek. Location and setting was amazing and beautiful. The cabin was very nice. Kitchen was typically of rentals- terribly dull knives, scratched non-stick pans. I was bummed the vintage range is only hooked up for the stove top. There was a small electric oven to use, but is was a hassle. The back deck was wonderful with a nice table and a grill- which is what we primarily used for cooking. Beds were average, couch was terribly uncomfortable- but we were out and about most of the time, so didn't matter that much. I would recommend it and probably would book again.
