About this listing
Nestled among the redwoods of Cazadero, Elim Cottage is located in the oasis of Elim Grove, on the grounds of the award-winning Raymond's Bakery – the perfect place to unwind and enjoy Sonoma County.
We enjoy providing a warm, appetizing atmosphere in this undiscovered woodland paradise along tranquil Austin Creek, only 20 minutes from Guerneville, Russian River wineries, or the Pacific Ocean.
Creekside Cottage sleeps 2 in an crisp, light wood interior with stylish furnishings and a queen bed. It also features a cozy sitting room as well as a small garden view room with a daybed (with trundle), a propane wood stove, a microwave & fridge, and a private bathroom with shower.
The cottage is only a stone's throw from Austin Creek and a few minute walk up the creek to a swimming hole. Wake up to the bubbling of the creek, take a plunge, enjoy strolls along nearby trails, play bocce, relax under the gazebo and nap in the garden room or under the Gravenstein apple tree. Share a romantic evening in front of the propane wood stove or by the campfire.
Our bakery is open Friday through Sunday with local musicians playing on Friday evenings for our Community Pizza, Beer & Wine Night. We do close the bakery from early December through mid January to give our awesome staff a break for the holidays. However, the B&B is always open and breakfast is included for each morning of your stay. We bake fresh pastries and goodies every morning for our guests.
Please note that Creekside Cottage can sleep up to 4 people including the twin daybed with lower trundle. There is a $20 per night charge for each additional person beyond double occupancy. Children 4 and under are free.
For larger groups of up to 17 persons, book Elim Grove Cottage together with Gravenstein Cottage, Paradise Grove Cottage, Creekside Cottage and Baker's Loft - all located on the grounds near the bakery.
"We stayed a few nights with Mark and Elizabeth, and all I can say is they are the best hosts ever. . .Our daughter loved the little playground next to the bakery, it was also a plus that Mark offered a stroller which we forgot at home. Every morning a hot breakfast was provided and it was delicious!"

Fantastic experience. We stayed in Creekside Cottage. Great little space had everything we needed. And Mark is such a terrific host if you need anything he will help. The country is gorgeous and this was in a great location.
Bakery is fun. Great breakfast. Friday night pizza nights with music are fun. Fire place, grills. Everything you need.
We loved it. We will stay here again. Highly recommended.
Unwelcomed. Host was never there to welcome us or check in to see if we were taken care of.
Cottage clean enough. No coffee in room. Someone else's leftovers in fridge!
Paid for breakfast for both days, yet did not receive breakfast on day we left.
Extremely unhappy since we read such raving reviews.
We had a great time staying at the Creekside Cottage! Mark and Liz were wonderful hosts - very pleasant, generous, and welcoming. The Cottage is far enough off the beaten path to feel remote and quiet while still being central enough to act as a great kick-off location for exploring Sonoma and the coast. Having Raymond's Bakery and Cafe attached was also nice since we were only a short walk away from fresh baked goods in the morning and pizza and music on Friday night. Thanks for the wonderful experience!
Mark's adorable cottages and bakery were just what we needed to get away from the city and unwind. The cottage was surprisingly spacious while still being super cosy. Everyone at the bakery was extremely helpful and friendly. I can't recommend this place enough.
The location is a little way away from the Russian River but we actually enjoyed hanging out in Austin creek just feet from the cottage. It was a short driver to Guerneville, Jenner and Bodega bay. We enjoyed hiking at the beach at Jenner, and in the redwoods at Armstrong woods. We also went canoeing along the river from a great place at Monte Rio.
Elim Grove is truly a labor of love for Mark and it shows in his baked goods and kind spirit. Mark and his staff were welcoming and gracious. We arrived on a Saturday and Mark gave us great recommendations for both hiking and dining. Our cell phones both AT&T and Sprint seemed to have issues, but the WiFi worked just fine. The cabin was clean and the bed was comfortable. Water pressure in the cottage was excellant and the fireplace kept us cozy both nights. We were overlooked for breakfast our first morning but the following morning breakfast was delivered and delicious. Mark did apologize for the mistake and we were fine as the overall stay was nice. One thing that I will mention is that the Creekside Cottage is right next to a communal gathering area and the chatter can be a bit loud at times, which we experienced Saturday afternoon/early evening. At times the conversations were so loud we could hear them while being in our bedroom, almost as if we were outside ourselves.
We really enjoyed our stay here - Marc and his family were very warm and welcoming and we loved the small cottage. I do think it is probably better to come on weekends though when the bakery/pizza place is open. Got great tips for fun things to do while we were there. The first day the breakfast was not very nice but we loved the breakfast we got the second day. All in all we can recommend this place:-)
What was intended to be a mini relaxation break from the city turned into a very memorable experience amidst the coastal redwoods. Mark made my husband, one year old boy, and I feel right at home on his beautiful homestead, we felt like we were visiting friends. The cottage accommodations were comfortable and met all of our needs. It was an added delight to wake up to a breakfast of amazing fresh baked goods. Mark was also helpful in directing us where to visit along the Sonoma coast, and we were thankful for the personable attention. Our only regret was that the trip was too short, next time we hope to stay more than a couple of nights!

About the Host, Mark
Twelve years ago my wife and I fell in love with an abandoned restaurant with four tired cottages on three acres of wild blackberries and old growth redwoods on Austin Creek. It has been an exhausting/exhilarating labor of love that has enriched our lives in more ways than we ever imagined. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we have!
