Single or double occupancy room in quiet house
A bright and spacious double room in a nice area of South London in zone 4. The house is less than a 10 minute walk from the train station where frequent services get you to London Victoria and London Bridge within 30 mins and also to Gatwick airport and to the trendy south coast town of Brighton in 40 minutes. There is also a bus service which runs from Heathrow Airport to Croydon which takes about 75 minutes. There are two large shopping malls 20 minutes walk away.
We are a quiet family who enjoy growing our own veg, cooking and music. Living in the apartment are myself and my son age 17. Most of the time we are at work or school during the day but are at home in the evenings. I am only looking to accommodate short term guest such as students and tourists.
So far we have had people from all over the world stay with us and really like meeting all kinds of people .
We respect our guests privacy and are flexible if a guest is just looking for a place to crash for the night or if they are looking for a more personal experience we can accommodate that also.
The room has a double bed, bedside table, lamp and a wardrobe with drawers. WIFI is free to use. I am vegetarian but guests are welcome to use the kitchen to make light snacks and use the washing machine. Smoking is permitted outside.
WiFi, washing machine, fridge space and kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
I enjoy having guests around and can help with english practice. I am an experienced host with younger guests such as school or college students.
My place is 10 mins from the train station which serves central London. Less than 20 mins walk from my house is the main town centre with two large shopping malls with House of Fraser, Zara, Top Shop, Primark etc and a cinema.
It will take about 30-45 mins to get into central London from mine, the nearest station is a 10 min walk away.
I am vegetarian so prefer not to have the cooking of meat here but it is ok to use the kitchen to make light snacks
Louise is very neighbourly housewife! We was glad to stay at her home and intermingle with her. If I will be in England ever I will stay at Louise home!
The reservation was canceled 69 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
It was a perfect stay. Louise is hospitable, friendly and engaging. The house might not be very large but is excellently furnished according to the space and it is very green. My favorite part was the shower/bathroom - so neat, well-stocked and well-managed!
My room looked just as it does in the picture. I had a lamp, a big, comfortable chair to lounge in, and a whole power strip to myself! Louise was lovely enough to leave a bunch of information pamphlets for everything from touring to travel in the drawer, and made me dinner my first night there. Can't complain about that!
The location is literally a two-minute walk to the South Croydon Rail station and that track is connected to all the major stations. It does take about an hour to get into town, and two changes, but for the price, the comfort and the over-all experience of living in the burbs and keeping the city bustle at bay, I would still choose this over something closer to the center.
All in all, I had an easy time of it and would wish for nothing more on a quick trip to one of the busiest cities in the world.
Thanks, Louise and Ryan and I wish you all the good things in the future! 3
Louise was a wonderful and very helpful host. The room was very cosy with ample space, and great amenities! Distance-wise however, the place is a little far from central London, so I'd recommend getting the one day unlimited travel pass. The house is very near the train station though. All in all, my stay there was a pleasant one (:
I have stayed with Louise for three nights, she is a lovely woman and the bedroom is great. It has plenty of room and the bed is comfortable. Furthermore is the shower really nice and the house is at a nice location, close to everything and it is not noisy at night. Definitely worth a (or another) visit!
It was wonderful to meet Louise and stay with her during my time in London! She's very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed a vegetarian meal together the first night of my arrival and shared good conversation. The room itself is a little bigger than the pictures show, with everything you need for a short stay. The bed is comfortable. You also have use of the kitchen for basic food prep/tea. It's less than a 5-minute walk from the train station, and only 30 minutes or less by train to downtown London and very easy. Enjoy your stay!!!
Louise is a very nice person and I felt like at home. The room is great and it has a very nice, warm, cosy atmosphere; her house is a place to stay a bit, not just a bed! I really enjoyed my staying there.
I will miss her hospitality and kindness but definetely we will keep in touch!!!
