Hey guys! Thanks for looking at Yangshuo Fun Sam's Bed and Breakfast. My name is Sam and I live with my parents in a newly-built huge building. We have 15 rooms available for guest use and they all have private bathroom and western toilet, and our B&B can comfortably host more than 25 less than 30 people. My mom cooks good local food and always ready to share Chinese cooking with our guests.
I grew up in Yangshuo and I know my hometown very well, just like the back of my hands. Please feel free to ask me anything you want to know about my B&B or what to do in Yangshuo. I can help you put things together, make arrangements and get you a good deal.
Fun Sam's B&B is surrounded with breath-taking limestone peaks, close to many delicious local Chinese restaurants. A short walk will take you to the city center where a lot of the bars and shopping stalls are.

My mom gets fresh fruits from the local market, and you can have them anytime you want. My dad makes at the living room, and you are welcome to join him drinking tea. Beers and bottled waters are not free to take they are at your own expense. A kitchen where my mom cooks for us, you can also use it. There's a rooftop I'm working on, the view is impeccable and it's going to be a nice common area in the near future.
Interaction with Guests
As much as I can as long as I'm home, I'd like to share stories and help our guests get what they want in Yangshuo. Most of the time, I'm home and can be reached I'm free but from time to time I travel to other places so I won't be able to be present while I'm travelling but my parents will be home if I'm not, that is to say, there's always people to help you out when you are here.
In between the noisy touristic town center and quiet countryside, a nice biking or jogging or hiking trail out front the house, and easy access both to beautiful country view and vibrant night life in the downtown. Also a basketball court 2 minutes away the house and tons of good local restaurants nearby. The house is surrounded by breath taking limestone peaks so you got views from every angle.
There's no public transit in Yangshuo because it's a small town and everywhere is within walking distance. A lot of travelers hire bike, moped and cab to visit around.
The most direct and best way to get from the airport to my place is take a private car pickup. Best way to get to the airport from my place is carpool, and they will come to my place to collect passengers if the reservation is made here. Time table for carpool to the airport is listed below: 8 am, 10 am, 12 pm, 3 pm, 6 pm. Private airport dropoff recommended if carpool time is not right.
A new high speed train line and station is being built now in Xingping, a village 20km away from Yangshuo and this high speed line and station will be finished at the end of year 2014, until then most of train arrivals are still coming from the one in Guilin.
Other Things to Note
You will be given 2 keys once you check in, a key to your room and a key to the front door downstairs, please keep them well and remember to return them when checking out.
We enjoyed meeting Sam and his family; Sam is extremely friendly. He was an especially good host for cyclists and helped us to package our bikes for transit onward. We also enjoyed being able to communicate well in English. The hostel is clean, has comfortable beds, and good wifi. The breakfast Sam's mother made was the best noodles we've had so far in China. Heater worked great and the three person room was much more spacious than the photos make it look. Our room also had a nice view. We enjoyed the location on a quiet street that was still close enough to town for walking.
Sam and his parents were really welcoming, we wished we could have stayed longer ! Sam's advice for travelling around are great ! we had a great time there and we highly recommand his place !!
Sam's place was a wonderful base from which to explore Yangshuo. Sam was friendly, helpful, and low key. He gave his honest opinion on local sights and activities and also never tried to push us to use his services, both of which we appreciated. We also enjoyed renting bikes from him to explore the surrounding countryside, and would consider going rock climbing with him if we ever return.
If you are using AirBnB on an iPad or iPhone, beware, as Apple's maps puts Sam's place in the wrong location. We appreciated that Sam's was not in the heart of the touristy part of the city, but was in a convenient and more quiet area.
His mother was an excellent cook. We highly recommend her meals!
Sam and his family run a very nice BnB. It is family oriented, with a friendly, easy feel. I would highly recommend it!
