Suite d'Artista is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday, combining the atmosphere of typical Tuscan countryside with Montalcino's amenities.
Nestled just below Montalcino's historical centre, a peaceful spot with several apartments overlooking a large panoramic garden where there's a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, gazebo, barbeque, wood oven and private parking. All Suites have pieces of contemporary art to admire during the stay.
Suite "Riddell" is our main house. On the first floor there is a large open plan dining room with a sofa, fire place, a table for 8 and a spacious kitchen, all this underneath a beautiful wooden beam ceiling. Behind an artistic painted door there is a double bedroom and a private bathroom with bathtub in travertine. A glass staircase leads you to the ground floor where there is a spacious lounge with a sofa bed, a toilet and another double bedroom with its private bathroom and a travertine bathtub. The apartment is equipped with satellite tv in each bedroom, hair dryer in each bathroom, free wi-fi connection. Just outside there is a gazebo with table and benches.
Edward Riddell is an American photographer that has been coming to Montalcino for some time. Last year he organized an exhibition of his black and white photos called "The Landscapes, the People and Architecture of Val d'Orcia and Montalcino". The work from that show, as well as other images, are now presented in the house where he stays during his time here in Montalcino.
We loved every moment of our trip to Italy, and our stay at Suite d'Artista. Lisa and Andrea are totally committed to making sure everything you need is taken care of. Montalcino is a great little town to serve as a home base for exploring Tuscany. It's close enough to the beach to make a day trip there too. Take time to explore Montalcino and relax at Suite d'Artista...you'll be glad you did.
A large unit with a good kitchen and nice yard outside with a good view of some of the countryside. Staff were very helpful with reservations to restaurants and also got some fresh fruit that we requested for our breakfast. It was a nice respite after touring the country side during the day. Having a laundry machine available was also very helpful.
It was very close to the main street of Montalcino, however, getting there requires walking or driving up a fairly steep hill which might be difficult for some people.
We had a very pleasant stay there.
