Our host, Karen, was very helpful and accommodating. Great directions and dinner recommendations. We needed a 'home' for a group of friends attending a local event and this worked well.
The house was great. Clean and all in one style. Karen was helpful from the start. She arranged above and beyond for us and is a very friendly person.
Like in an earlier post there is a train that passes by from time to time which you do hear but other than that it's a nice and peaceful area. For kids, there's a pool just a few minutes drive away (Nicholasville pool run by the YMCA).
Would definitely stay again.
Our 3-night stay at this townhouse was our first experience with airbnb, and we were really pleased. Karen was very hospitable, the townhouse was clean and comfortable, and we loved not having to worry about our 2-year-old disturbing neighbors in the middle of the night -- which is always stressful at a hotel. The location was great too -- quiet neighborhood, close to a Starbucks and a Wal-Mart and only about 20 minutes from Lexington. Wish we'd been able to take Karen up on her offer of breakfast at the B&B -- she was a great host and check in/out policies were comfortably relaxed. We'll be back to stay again!
Karen was great to work with, and the townhouse was just what we expected. It was super nice to have a full kitchen and space to hang out. The townhouse is close to Walmart and several fast food restaurants, and a few miles from Kroger. The only things that I didn't expect were that there were train tracks close to the townhouse, which didn't bother us during the day, but I heard the trains throughout the night (not loud enough to wake up our kids, however, so that's what really counts!), and the other thing is that I was imagining that the townhouse would be right around the corner from the B&B, but it's about a five minute drive. Totally not dealbreakers at all, just not what I was imagining before arriving. Overall, Karen's townhouse beats a hotel any day!
Our 4 day stay at the Townhouse was a wonderful experience, a very enjoyable stay in a beautifully maintained home.
Thank you Karen
Karen keeps all of her properties in pristine condition for guests - beautiful 2-story townhouse, even nicer than the pictures, and extremely comfy for our stay in Lexington/Nicholasville. Just a short drive from the action in the city, and from Keeneland, where we were able to see some morning workouts (though we missed Karen's offer to cook us breakfast!!).
Highly recommended! We'll look her up again next time we're in town.
I booked this townhouse in August for an October visit. About a month before our trip I asked Karen a rather innocent question about our arrival time. She did not know who I was and asked if we booked under another name. She did finally call me and told me that she had double booked the house, but that the other people had cancelled. I was really concerned about this and had Airbnb contact her to reconfirm the date.
Also, see stated that the check in time is flexible, but I found out that it was not the case. She told me on the phone that check in was 3:00 which is not stated on the Airbnb website. If I had know that, I may have found another place.
I found the house to be clean.
Lots of misunderstandings with this guest & very hard to communicate with. Her house was not "double booked". It had been booked prior to her & was cancelled. There was no problem with her reservation, but I could never convince her of that. Then she requested to check in at 10am. I told her the guests from the night before may still be there at that time. I told her if she called me the night before or that morning I could give her a more accurate time of how quickly we could have it cleaned. She never called. Someone else picked up the key & they never communicated a breakfast time. I can accommodate most reasonable check-in times. Wish this experience had been better for both parties. Never quite had an experience like this before!
