We are delighted to welcome you into our beautiful, relaxing home, just a few minutes walk from the beach.

Villa Rosa was inspired by the colonial architecture of Antigua, yet with a modern, beach influenced twist. It offers a spa-like retreat in a hidden corner of El Paredón. It is the home of artist residency, Studio Luce.

Your booking supports the local library as every month we donate $500 to Majo the librarian to keep the library running and supporting education in El Paredón.

The space
Villa Rosa was designed and decorated by two renowned artists/interior designers.

It has three beautiful bedrooms (one king, two queens) that all look out on to the pool and the palm trees beyond. It offers an open plan kitchen and lounge area full of artistic touches collected from across the globe, with books to enjoy. We are currently building a fourth room and writing/art studio.

One room offers a beautiful wooden desk for remote working. In Villa Rosa we offer some of the best Wi-Fi in El Paredón meaning you can work from the beach and start living your best life.

The house opens out onto a stunning pool, which is surrounded by a tropical garden with a huge array of plants and trees. In front of the pool you'll find a large table, perfect for big outdoor dinners to enjoy with family and friends.

Upstairs you'll find a large deck, ideal for relaxing in the hammocks or practicing yoga with mats available for use. Off the master bedroom you'll find a hidden balcony, set up for views across the mangroves to enjoy with your morning coffee.

Guest access
The entire villa, pool and tropical garden is private and yours to enjoy. Please make yourself at home in this private space and relax into the rhythm of this incredible village.

Other things to note
We do not allow pets at Villa Rosa. If you bring any without permission you will be charged $250.

We also do not allow parties in the house and if you have any or play loud music past 11pm then you will be charged $250.

Please be aware, El Paredon is a rural village. The national electricity sometimes fails, due to the national system. This is a possibility during your stay. Please be aware before you book.

Where you’ll be

You can walk to the beach from Villa Rosa in just a few minutes. For surfers, a good wave is just a short walk from the house.

On the streets you'll find a range of brilliant restaurants. There is Super 24 just two minutes walk away for any essentials you might need.

If you walk down the main road towards the village you'll find even more things, including local NGO La Choza Chula.

La Choza Chula is the local non-profit, responsible for building the library, secondary school, computer lab and permaculture garden in the village. Aside from it’s educational work, it also hosts a range of activities. If you visit their shop, situated a short walk down the main road towards the village, you will find a range of locally made produce, including t-shirts, bags and more – all made by their women’s cooperative. It’s there you can also book activities including cooking classes, turtle tours, bracelet making classes with local kids and mangrove fishing tours. Each tour offers something exciting and unique, with the money going towards the tour guides, with profits reinvested into La Choza Chula’s many projects.

Ben and Katie are both writers. They also run Studio Luce, a writing & artist residency from Villa Rosa. Ben used to work for the local non-profit a for a number of years and fell in love with the El Paredon. This house is his way of always coming back. With every booking of Villa Rosa a % goes to the local library. He and Katie are currently based in California.
