About this listing
Watch the sun set over the lagoon from thirty floors up & sleep in a super king size bed while the lights of Doha twinkle quietly below. Outdoor Swimming pool and indoor gym included. Shops, a supermarket and restaurants less than 100m walk away.
Zigzag towers. Floor to ceiling windows. Outdoor swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi, steam room. And sunset views every night.
Come and stay in a beautifully furnished flat on the 30th floor overlooking the lagoon (where you can go running along the beach or take a canoe) and the golf course.
It is easily accessible with several disabled people choosing these towers as their home.
Flat above a fully equipped mall with Carrefour, Apple, Sony etc. I roll my shopping direct from the supermarket into my home.
Small dogs and children welcome, smokers are not.
There is a desk, lots of empty cupboards for you and a fully working internet. Satellite TV and a kitchen equipped by a girl who loves cooking. You'll be staying with a journalist who likes to cook, eat, drink and run around like a headless chicken setting up her new business. I am never home. There is also a playground just outside for visiting kids.
Everything apart from my bedroom.
Interaction with Guests
I am out....a lot. Or working. So if I do see you it will be rare but lovely.
It is so darn practical. Restaurants and a supermarket on my doorstep. A pool on the third floor.
There is no public transport that really works in Qatar sadly. I recommend using Niyaz (phone number hidden) or Posh taxi (phone number hidden). And for short journeys Uber is really affordable. You can use the house phone to make these bookings.
Other Things to Note
I drink alcohol and eat pork. Not a lot, but they may be in the fridge while you stay. If you cannot be near alcohol or pork products then this may not be the place for you.
Common areas should be kept clean and tidy. Your bedroom is your business. Just please strip the bed at the end of your stay and put the sheets in the wash.
Please leave a shelf free in the fridge for my food at all times. And throw away all open food at the end of your stay.
And, if possible, please stick to just free range (not battery) eggs. Thank you so much.
Please do not leave food or rubbish open in the kitchen. The rubbish shoot is out the door to the left and left again before the lifts. The black bags are under the sink.
Second time to stay at Rosie's apartment, still didn't get to meet Rosie yet, but my stay was great and I really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend it.
The apartment was well maintained and very clean and tidy. Great views over Doha and sunsets.
Any questions I had were answered immediately by Rosie.
Good location. Supermarket nearby and many eateries and coffee shops.
I stayed at Rosie's place for 3 nights, the place was very nice and exactly as described by the listing. The apartment was spacious, and a couple of steps away from lagoona mall, also with a great view. When I arrived, check in was very simple and the room was ready with clean towels and bottled water. Even though, I didn't get to meet Rosie, she made sure to check up on me and how well my stay was, via e-mail. I enjoyed my stay very much and I am looking forward for another visit.
Had a great 3 night stay at Rosie's place. The space is exactly as described. Very nice and well equipped apartment in the Pearl area. There is a great mall in the building and the grocery store downstairs was very convenient. It was easy (and cheap) to get a cab back to the West Bay and other touristy areas and all the drivers knew the "zig zag" building for the return so transportation is easy. Overall an outstanding experience and I would definitely stay there again!
Rosie's flat was bright, spacious and well apportioned. As stated in the listing, the bed is now a very large King which was quite comfortable. We appreciated Rosie's prompt and thorough communication, from the time of booking until we arrived. One thing to note is that the parking lot adjoins the mall - in theory this would mean ample parking is available, but as we arrived during the Eid festivities, we had to park quite a distance away. Our only issues stemmed from the prior AirBnB tenants, which Rosie actively worked to address; we don't hold her at fault as she addressed the situation as best as anyone could (and it is unlikely a similar situation will ever repeat itself) but it did add some unnecessary stress and repeated re-planning on our part, which is the only reason it would be disingenuous to give a full 5 rating.
Unfortunately, I was not able to meet Rosie due to my flight to Qatar being full (I fly stand-by). But, she was really friendly and communicative via e-mail. Especially after I notified her of my delay. When I arrived at her apartment, all I had to do was ask for the key at the front desk. The apartment is about a 40-45 minute drive from the airport and it isn't far from the downtown area. I really enjoyed my stay and the view was spectacular. Thanks Rosie!

About the Host, Rosie
I am a British journalist. I have worked at the BBC, was part of the start-up team for Al Jazeera English and left in 2011 to start my own production company here in Doha called Mediadante. I have also written an award winning book "How To Avoid Being Killed in a War Zone". I am busy - you will hardly see me. When you do I will likely be wearing sports gear as I love to be as active as possible.
