Dan was a great host. He was quick to respond to email and was waiting at the apartment when I arrived. Best of all, he had purchased some snacks (fruit, yoghurt, bread, milk, juices) which was awesome having just taken a red-eye and suffered through airplane food. We didn't have to go shopping for any breakfast foods during our entire stay.
The location of the apartment is very convenient to the Tube (Leicester Sq stop is a few hundred feet from the apartment building) and is central to getting most anywhere in London. The apartment is in the back of the building and looks out on a side street, so the noise was limited during weekday nights. But Fri/Sat night were a little on the noisy side.
The space was large and hotel-like amenities were included like hair dryer, towels, coffee, items to cook with, and even extra shampoo / toothpaste if you forgot. The bed was very comfortable and I enjoyed waking up and making a Nespresso to start the day.
- VERY gracious host
- location very convenient to tube, restaurants, and accessing central London
- apartment was a good size
Things to consider:
- shower situation is strange, you need to hold the shower nozzle in your hand
- space heaters instead of central heat
- replacing the living room carpet would give the place a fresh look
Dan was very helpful, and available for our stay. I came and viewed the apartment while on a business trip and Dan was very amenable.
When we arrived, we found that the fridge and pantry had milk, juice, bread, and the basics - a real treat because it meant we did not have to go out for supplies right after a late arrival.
The apartment is not the biggest - like all London apartments, but you cannot fault the location - right outside the front door was Leicester Square, and the Tube station. Out the back door was a maze of great little streets with food, and other stores leading up to Covent Garden. Our favourite little restaurant was Jamies's - right up the street.
We had a great stay - though 4 of us was a tight fit - but the location made that worthwhile - and the apartment block was a quiet oasis just off the busy London night life.
Great location. Dan was very clear and we had a lovely stay. I would recommend it and stay again.
Excellent property and host. Location was key for us enabling us to walk to the theatres we were attending saving precious time as previously we would have taken taxis to and from farther away hotels.
This apartment is PERFECTLY located in the midst of all the activities and nightlife, but it is quiet. We had a wonderful time and would go back. Dan was a great host, all went as planned without a hitch.
From beginning to end this was a great experience - Dan confirmed my reservation within minutes, he was in touch regularly before my arrival and was there to meet me with a big smile, a welcome bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine and a clean, comfortable apartment right in the heart of London. I'm an ex Londoner who comes back to visit friends and need a convenient place that isn't a hotel, so I don't feel so much like a visitor. This place is perfect. I was there over the weekend and even the fri/sat nights were not noisy enough to be a problem. The apt is a comfortable size, lots of sheets and towels are provided, a well stocked kitchen/dining area, and a very comfy bed! Five stars for the place and for the excellent host Dan himself!
Thank you very much Dan !!!
My daughter, boyfriend and I, spent two nights at Dan's apartment in October 2013 and we had a wonderful time. The apartment is cozy, clean, very nicely decorated and in the best location you can find in London. We meet Dan and his sister and they are lovely, super nice people. Do not hesitate to stay at Dan's flat, you won't regret it! We are planning to go back to London next year and I hope Dan's flat is available again for us. Marisol de la Madriz
Arrival and departure process was flawless, brilliant location, spacious apartment for central London and a good assortment of supplies were provided. Only downsides were the occasional loud conversations/arguing from the otherwise quiet street below the bedroom in the early hours of the morning and the fact that a renovation is needed. Dan advised that one is planned which should then resolve these two issues.
Dan's flat was amazing, perfectly located and super comfortable.
Dan and Pery were very helpful and kind. I would very much recommend staying here.
