Location was excellent, central to public transport and walkable to many attractions. Dan was lovely, he even stocked the fridge with some basics for us when we arrived!
The Flat is very centrally situated within walking distance to the theatres, Covent Garden and so on. In an apartment block must be 1920/30's. Were met by Dan. Very friendly, helped us with our luggage up the 2 flights of stairs. Dan showed us around the flat, then departed. Lovely fresh clean linen on the bed. Comfortable for 2 people. Expensively priced, perhaps its because of its ease to get to theatre.
What a great apartment and location to stay!! There was everything we needed and our host was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything Dan!!
Dan and his flat were great! The flat was in a excellent location, convenient to major attractions, was clean, had wifi, and was as described. He was very accommodating to early check in and late check out. To our surprise, he stocked the kitchen with fresh fruit, milk, eggs, and yogurt. Hope to visit again and will definitely rent from Dan.
El apartamento de Dan fue nuestra 1* experiencia en air ,el apartamento es tal cual las fotos. Dan fue sumamente cordial con nosotros. Encontramos agua, frutas y galletitas que se agradecen despues de un viaje largo.Check in- out perfectos. Nos sentimos confortables, cerca de todo y comodos para viajar. Cuando volvamos a Londres, volveremos a hospedarnos en casa de Dan sin dudas!
This apartment is RIGHT in the midst of it all, just a very short walk from Leicester Square station (Piccadilly line, direct to/from Heathrow and also major museums) and close to theatres, restaurants, Trafalgar Square, Soho, Covent Garden, etc.
The apartment is light and large for its locality, and many provisions had been thoughtfully provided in the kitchen so we didn't need to worry about shopping for our short stay. The apartment is up two flights of stairs, not an issue for us but do keep it in mind if you have mobility issues or a lot of heavy luggage!
As others have mentioned, there is some noise but what do you expect right in the middle of London?! Saturday night is particularly noisy but Sunday morning is blessedly quiet so you can sleep in. I should point out that the noise didn't bother our young children in the least, so if you're a light sleeper or likely to be bothered, just pack some earplugs.
The only issue we had was that no one was there to meet us, despite prior arrangements being made and confirmed, and I was unable to get through to Dan. This was stressful having arrived at 6pm, after two international flights, with two fractious children and a dwindling phone battery. According to other reviews, this doesn't appear to be a regular problem with arrivals at Dan's, so perhaps he was just having one of those days, but I would strongly suggest you ask for his sister's mobile number as a backup to his, as it was Perry that eventually met us at the apartment.
Despite that we had a wonderful time and were immensely grateful to have a lovely apartment in such a central location for our time in London – if only our trip was longer and we had more time to explore all of the attractions and character this area has to offer. We'll be back!
Dan's sister Peri met us at the flat which matched our expectations and the pictures we had seen.
Peri graciously accompanied us to the supermarket, because we wanted to buy some staples, and then, to our amazement, insisted on picking up the bill for our groceries, saying that she had intended to stock the kitchen and hadn't had a chance...
It was beyond generous and very heartwarming. The location of the flat was perfect and we had no unusual problems.
The few things which I thought could be improved on were conveyed to them in person, and mentioning them in a review would be nit-picking.
I highly recommend Dan and Peri as hosts, and will happily stay with them in the future.
