Studio 2 is warm and cozy. This unit is not in the direct path of the morning sun so it gets little less light. Awesome mountain view.

Playas del Coco is ten minutes by taxi or car, yet a world away from the peaceful surroundings of Casa Lotus.
We are working to become a more sustainable and environmentally friendly inn. We have decided not to build a pool on our site because the ocean is one block away and we have access to a pool which guest can use at the day rate of $10 per person.
Karla is our on site person who can help you with details. She will meet you so we need to know the time you will arrive.
Playa Ocotal is one of my favorite beach communities. It is a ten minute taxi ride to a busy little town where you can have great meals, purchase what you need and explore the local culture. We are located in a small gated community with only one beach restaurant and very little activity.
We think renting a small - the least expensive vehicle is best. Try expedia for a deal. You don't need off road - again, the smallest just to get you around the area.
If you have a car, Karla can help direct you to sights so you can explore the area.
a very good place to be .. excellent rooms and very clean, the treatment of people was great especially from karla, thank you
We had an excellent stay at Casa Lotus— our room was perfect, the location was excellent, and the hosts did a great job communicating and resolving any small issues along the way. Read on for more detail...
The location was superb. Playa Ocotal is a sparsly populated area, and the beach wasn't crowded for us at all. As another reviewer noted, the beach is at the bottom of a steep hill from Casa Lotus, so having a car was nice, but I wouldn't say it was essential. However, if you plan on going into Playas del Coco very often, I would definitely recommend having a car.
The apartment itself was excellent. It had more than enough room for us, was super clean, and had HUGE windows that let in plenty of light. There was also great AC, and hot running water— which was a nice luxury.
Adriane was great communicating in advance of our trip, and once were there, the resident manager, Karla, was perfectly responsive to anything we needed.
The reservation was canceled 32 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Our stay at Casa Lotus was very nice!
The room was clean and comfortable, and the mini-fridge and sink were nice to have as an alternative to always eating out. The property manager, Karla, was friendly and very helpful with directing us to things to do or other resources. It was lovely, quiet, and peaceful. The AC worked well and the tv provided both english and spanish language channels.
If you stay here, it would be best to have a car- Casa lotus sits atop a steep hill. My travel partner and I did not have a car and walking back from the beach up the hill was very exhausting! It is also good to have a car because playa ocotal is very quiet with few businesses- only a restaurant on the beach and some small hotels. Anything else, you'd need to go over to the more lively Playa del Coco, which is a few miles away.
I would also recommend bringing beach towels. We did not bring towels and at first were told the only towels we would have for our stay was the one towel each for the shower. Karla was eventually able to provide us with two more bath towels to use in lieu of beach towels, though.
Lastly, we had a lot of problems with the wifi- but playa ocotal is so beautiful, avoid using it if you can!
Bottom line: Highly recommend staying at Casa Lotus and visiting playa ocotal. It seems like it would be a great place for families, too. Rent a car, and bring a beach towel! :)
