The Space

We have a 3-bedroom townhouse just a 7-minute walk to the Caltrain and Lightrail Stations, as well as downtown Mountain View, which boasts a plethora of international cuisine restaurants, shops, and a fabulous weekly Farmers Market. We're in a perfect spot if you don't have a car: it's a 7-12 minute Caltrain ride to Stanford University (1/2 hour door to door!), and the Light Rail can take you through the heart of Silicon Valley.

The room that is available is one of two bedrooms upstairs, which comes complete with a twin/trundle bed, desk, small fridge, and coffee pot. Wifi is also available. Should there be two of you, you can either pull out the trundle, or we can provide a queen-sized futon, if you like.

The adjacent bathroom is a shared bathroom, and there is a washing machine/dryer that can be used during the daytime.

There are three of us in the home (husband and wife upstairs, friend downstairs) and we have two small dogs and a cockatiel. We enjoy hosting people from all over the world!

  • My stay with George and Stacey couldn't have been better. They were incredibly kind, generous and fun, and made me feel right at home.

The room was comfortable and cozy. The neighborhood is very safe and easy to navigate. There are some nice walking and jogging paths very close by and a grocery store within walking distance too. Castro street (the main street with a lot of restaurants and offices) is only a 10-15 minute walk away. I didn't have a car the month I stayed but didn't feel at all like I needed one. The Caltrain station is also only a few minutes walk away so if you feel like going over to San Francisco or anywhere else for the day, it's extremely convenient.

All in all, a wonderful stay!

  • Awesome place. Stacey and George went to great lengths to make my visit enjoyable. At first day Stacey have shown me around the city. They made awesome breakfast and even sometimes invited me to dinner. Room is spacious and include extra stuff like fridge or coffee machine just for your personal use.
House is very well located - you can go jogging on Steven Creeks trail and there is plenty of restaurants on nearby downtown Mountain View. They have two bathrooms, so you won't even find yourself in situation when you are blocked.
I liked place so much, that I extended it until the last possible date it was available.

About
We love to spend time with our young adult children, our two puppies, and our friends. Stacey loves to cook, travel, read, watch documentaries, and do crafts, and George loves to read, play Scrabble, listen to music and watch sports. Yosemite is a favorite place of ours, and Stacey loves Japan, where she lived for several years and visited on many occasions. We both love memoirs, historical novels and music. We are very casual and accommodating, and have enjoyed the many people we've had stay with us over the years, from all corners of the world.
