We live in a cape cod style home in the Emerson neighborhood just 3 miles from downtown. It's a pleasant, walkable neighborhood with friendly neighbors and small businesses.
You'll have the entire closet space to store your things, hang your clothes, etc. We'll supply an extra blanket in the closet, a hamper, hangers, a fan, towels, and a suitcase stand. We've since replaced the windows since this photo was taken.
Welcome to Madison! You're going to LOVE IT!
Your comfortable, peaceful, nature inspired bedroom is located on the first floor, right next to the bathroom of a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home. You'll have your own personal access to your room from the front patio door, and your own closet with hangers. The bed is a queen size with a foam top, cotton sheets, a soft and fuzzy blanket, nice plump pillows, and a heavy quilt. We'll supply an extra blanket in the closet for your comfort, a hamper for dirty clothes, and a small fan for those who enjoy white noise. We also have a spacious back deck with room to soak up the sun, or to entertain a grill out. Our deck table can seat 6 so please feel free to invite your friends or family over for a meal.
Your room is located just beyond the front entryway so you'll have a key to the front door, but we also supply you with a key to the back door as well. (the door we use)
Interaction with Guests
We interact with guests as our schedule and theirs allow. Most of our guests are very personable so we generally spend some time getting to know one another. We're usually pretty busy in the spring, summer and fall months so we spend a lot of time away from the home, but we like it if we're able to meet every guest. We always tell guests that our home is their home, to make themselves comfortable, help themselves to anything in the kitchen, and to let us know if they need anything at all.
We live in the Emerson neighborhood, adjacent to the Atwood neighborhood where there's plenty of small businesses to explore. Our neighborhood is a safe, walkable neighborhood with lots of friendly neighbors.
We offer our bicycles for guests to use, but we also have two bus lines near our home. One is just 1 block from our home and the other is 2.5 blocks. We've had a lot of UW students/professors and they've found it very easy to get around by bus.
We ask that you smoke outside, clean up after yourself, refrain from being noisy after 11pm, but most of all, enjoy yourselves!
Cory and Ryan were unfortunately away the weekend that we stayed so we weren't able to meet our hosts but they left a light on for us and had muffins waiting for us! Very sweet. The room was very comfy-cozy and the bathroom was right next door. The bathroom was clean and stocked with eco-friendly, cruelty free toiletries. The neighborhood seemed pretty quiet.
We had a wonderful stay! The space was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for us. Although the hosts were not at home during our stay, they were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Coffee and breakfast foods provided were perfect! I would stay here again!
Great stay at the house of Cory & Ryan. Nice people who took care and made all they can to make my stay very pleasant. Highly recommended.
Cory and Ryan have a lovely home and the bedroom was cozy, comfortable and perfect! I really enjoyed discovering Willy's Co op. Madison has so much to offer.
Cory and Ryan were extremely accommodating hosts! I had such a rough arrival getting in much later than planned- they reassured me and didn't have any problem. The bed was SO comfortable, and the room was cozy and spacious. The private bathroom is deluxe! Ryan even made me an egg sandwich for breakfast- delicious. All the small details added up to a great experience! I would highly recommend staying here!
Cory and Ryan are so nice! The department is extremely comfortable and cozy! In addition, they provide breakfast, free ride, as well as living room for TV at night. I would like to recommend everyone who comes to Madison to stay in their place!
Living for a week with Cory and Ryan was wonderful. It's really cozy and comfortable, and we felt like we lived in the warmly family. Literally, the dog fulfill our enjoyment; his name is Brig. He did not disturb us at all. Ryan suggested me going to the nice places in the city, and he told me how to use apple TV, which is so cool. And Cory baked great banana cake: it was delicious. The bed is so soft.
Generally, everything is fabulous.
We're Ryan & Cory. Nice to meet you! We've lived in active, charming Madison, WI for about 5 years now. We opened up our home to guests about 2 years ago and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we've made.
Epic adventure seekers and outdoor lovers, in 2013 we trekked across Wyoming, sailed the San Juan islands, got married in Madison, overlooking the beautiful Lake Monona, and then we headed on a honeymoon adventure to Indonesia.
We just had a baby boy in Nov 2014, so we've been busy getting to know/raise him. He sleeps upstairs with us so rest assured that you won't be sleeping next to a baby's room. We love to spend our free time outdoors, exercising or sitting out on our back deck, enjoying local brews and company. Cory's a vegetarian who loves to travel, meet new people and insists on biking anywhere within 20 miles. Ryan is a laid back Midwesterner who loves to fish, read, and take photographs.
We've loved hosting on Airbnb and we continue to book airbnb's when we travel. The whole experience has been so rewarding and insightful.
