  • Everything was exactly as shown on the picture. Sen was a great host, always available and willing to accommodate our request.
The apartment is spacious and looks good. However, being a pre-war building, you can hear other people walking around in other apartments which may or may not wake you up in the morning.
The apartment is conveniently located close to restaurant, groceries and subway.

Had a great time there and would recommend this place.

  • Lot of room at a great price. Sen is a great host. He was very accommodating for our schedule changes. The rooms and neighborhood are a little worn out but clean and safe and the location & price were great. Mattresses are firm. Bathroom and electrical a bit old. We found free parking under the subway overnight. Our family attended a St John's basketball game nearby and we were able to zip into mid-town to meet friends for dinner.

Senjuen is a very kind and caring person, always helped us in everything we need
recommended if you want to spend a nice stay in such a nice neighborhood as it was Long Island

  • It was a nice place to stay with family.
Also it's very close to a subway And bus station.
And Our host, Senjuen, is very kind and always listen to our requests.

Just it was a little bit weak water pressure in a shower. And a skillet pan and knife were bad-conditioned even after Senjuen tried to fix it.
It will be nice to just change them for future visitors.

But we would like to stay again at this place next time when my family visit NYC. It is comfortable, easy to get public transportation and affordable.

    Thanks again,
    MJ

  • Senjuen is a fantastic host. He's been very helpful with bits and bobs including airport transfers which was very pleasant. The flat is nice, a bit old and needs quite a bit of fixing and TLC but overall in a convenient location and affordable. Pity you can't control the heating, it was roasting most of the time!

    Response from Sen:

Thank you for the feedback. Please feel free to voice your concerns about the heating more urgently. If I had known it was THAT warm after the first time, I might have been able to adjusted the radiators further to fit your comfort level. Thanks again for staying with us and hope to hear from you again!

  • Senjuen was really very kind and helpful. He provided among other things extensioncords and iron. The environment is quite and friendly with a lot of shops and restaurants. Easy commuting with metro.

    October 2013
  • The apartment was great with plenty of space. My family liked the arrangement, the organization, and the neatness that the apartment offered. The location was convenient near the 7 train which takes you straight to Grand Central and Times Square. Senjuen did a great job of making sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely come back and rent this apartment again next year.

  • We had some good days in Senjuen's flat. There was everything we needed, many differnet shops very close and it was easy to travel to Manhatten with the Metro. The flat is in an old building and some furniture is original. The beds were new and very good!

  • Senjuen was a great host, he was very friendly, helpful and easy to contact. The best part of this apartment was its location, great neighborhood, and closeness to the train. The 7 train gets you to Grand Central in just minutes. The biggest issue that we had was the temperature in the apartment. To be fair we happened to be there during the heat wave, so the evening temps were still in the 90's and the apartment was on the top floor. That being said, the small window unit air-conditioner in the living room was not sufficient in cooling the whole apartment. The temp in the bedrooms was easily in the high 80's, definitely not ideal when trying to relax after a long day of sightseeing in that heat. The apartment although clean, definitely shows signs of wear and tear consistent with such an old building. One final note is that Senjuen checks the apartment on a daily basis, we were not aware of this as it's not noted in the house rules, we were not comfortable with that set up and asked if we could have complete privacy, which he obliged. We would probably stay at this apartment again, but probably during a cooler season:)

    Response from Sen:

Thank you for the feedback. I apologize again for the lack of cooling in the apartment during the heat wave. We've improved the air conditioning unit and, if requested, can provide additional space fans (plus the already existing ceiling fans) to help with any particularly hot days.

Sorry, as well, for not being more clear about checking in on the apartment. I was concerned about the building's electrical usage during the heatwave so I was being extra cautious.

Another note for any future guests: we've changed this listing to that of the 2nd floor apartment, which will not face the same temperature issues as the top floors, so please keep that in mind when making your travel plans.

Thank you again for staying with us and we hope you'll consider us again for any future trips.

  • Esta ubicado en un sitio muy bonito y cercano a Manhattan.
Senjuen es una persona muy colaboradora y esta pendiente de sus huespedes.
Creo que es una buena eleccion poder utilizar este apartamento.

About
Hello, I was formerly a philosophy and political science student with an interest in public service and policy. I'm currently managing some property while I go back to school to earn an MBA in Healthcare Administration. I coordinate with various renters in the area to share any extra space they might have to anyone that is interested in visiting, working, staying in the city, or even fellow New Yorkers that just need a place to relax while their relatives take up their own apartments. I have had the privilege to have grown up, studied, and worked in and around New York City my entire life and thus, have intimate knowledge of this neighborhood and the Metropolitan area. I am quite fond of my hometown and would love the chance to share it with the rest of you!
